The Rory Gilmore Challenge
hello friends!
as i watched gilmore girls, i once again realized how incredibly perfect rory is and how badly i would like to be her! she is my ultimate inspiration and role model.
that’s why i came up with the idea of this ‘callenge’. I’m going to start being the most accurate version of rory for a week and try to slowly get in the habit of some activities and personal caractaristcs that she is totally rocking. (i also added some stuff in which i want to improve, which are not necessarily rory’s features)
i’d love for you to join this challenge! if you want to, you can show your progress with the hashtag #rorygilmorechallenge! :-)
i hope this post isn’t too weird and i hope nobody did this challenge before.
- i will start with a week (you can go longer or shorter)
- you should try to be the best rory you can be
- here is what i think is important to do/be:
- always be nice
- read everyday
- study everyday
- clean up every other day (like sweeping the floors ect.)
- try to learn something new
- practise your handwriting
- look up your dream college
- read through class descriptions
- watch some movies/videos about your interest (i really love jane and jady’s video’s since they’re in med school)
- watch/read the news everyday!!
- plan out everything
- start buying back to school stuff
- take a walk every day
- drink some coffee (or tea, as you like)
- make yourself a motivational wall
- drink!!! enough!!! water!!!
- stick to your morning and night routine!
- always help out if you can
- do your work as soon as you get it
- do little self-care things every day
- smile!
- take a break
feel welcome to add your personal improvement goals!
ok but i LOVE gilmore girls AND this idea?? i wanna try this out!!
I don't understand whats wrong with kindles. Yeah sure they aren't the physical book. You can't smell the new pages and whatever. I love physical books as much as the next person but I also think kindles are great. They can hold so many books! I think there should continue using physical books and people who say all libraries should be digital are just ????? I think all kinds of books are great!
strongly agree | agree | neutral | disagree | strongly disagree
yes YES YES OMG i was just reading on my kindle! theyre great man theyre so compact and convenient... and yeah we love hardcover/paperback books just the same!! i dont see the need to have like.,,.. arguments on how to read a book tbh theyre the most unnecessary discourse ever lmao

Ideas for Studying Based On Your Hogwarts House
Ravenclaw: mind maps, make study guides, acronyms, rereading notes or the textbook. Ravenclaws often love to study in the library, and work well with small study groups.
Hufflepuff: bullet journals, snacks on study breaks, outline notes. They like to quiz and be quizzed by their friends, and can often work anywhere as long as there are others there to work with.
Gryffindor: playing jeopardy, pomodoro method, SQ4R, rewriting notes, highlighting and annotating. They like to study by a window or outside, and work well with groups of friends (however, they can easily be distracted by this).
Slytherin: cornell notes, mnemonic devices, flashcards, planners. Slytherins often work by themselves, in a place they’re comfortable, such as their bedroom.

7 More Study Moods
So you STILL wanna study, but somehow the mood just isn’t right. Maybe try these? Pick your favorite, or do one each day of the week!
- The Freshman: Hot coffee, boy bands, reading your textbook on your bed.
- This is the Basic Mood. It’s hard to get much simpler!
- The Hermione: Earl Grey, ambient noise, writing/researching a research paper deep in the stacks of the school library.
- A great way to feel super Prepared and Scholastic, this mood also pairs well with argyle socks and maroon V-neck sweaters.
- The Carefree: Lemonade or cider, the wind in the trees, highlighting key points points in readings at a picnic table.
- Useful for when everything seems overwhelming - being outside can make difficult and stressful readings seem not as bad. And enjoying the last nice weather of the year is good too!
- The At-Home: Hot chocolate, swing bands, writing journals in your parents’ living room.
- Thanksgiving break is around the corner, and that’s when a lot of people go home for the first time. If you have anything to catch up on, this mood is perfect!
- The Work-Study: Lemon water, rain noises, making bullet point outlines of key info at the desk you staff for your work-study job.
- Just because you work doesn’t mean you can’t be productive at the same time! I’m writing this at my work study job, for instance.
- The Holiday Spirit: Peppermint mocha, Christmas carols, crafting timelines somewhere lit by string lights.
- I KNOW Christmas is still far away. However, some people get in the spirit early, and that’s okay! Live it up, you merry people.
- The Cinderella: Something fizzy, waltzes, working on something due at midnight while wearing fancy clothing.
- Hey, just because you procrastinated doesn’t mean you can’t have fun while you finish it. Make it less of a stressful event by going full-on Cinderella - maybe leave one shoe somewhere for realism’s sake, too!
Don’t stress about doing exactly these - they’re suggestions! Mix and match at your leisure.
Go forth and study!
7 Study Moods
So you wanna study, but somehow the mood just isn’t right. Maybe try these? Pick your favorite, or do one each day of the week!
- The Classy: Green tea, classical string quartets, reading articles in a park.
- Great for when you need to read 120 pages of something. It’s way nicer to read when you’re in a nice place!
- The Hipster: Coffee, jazz, writing summaries of the material in a coffee shop.
- You’ll look very cosmopolitan, with all your notes in front of you. Make sure your summaries are coherent though, and you’re not too busy looking great to study well.
- The Grad Student: Wine/sparkling cider, Adele, writing papers, curled up in blankets in bed.
- Papers are easiest for me to write when I’m comfortable. If I feel a little fancy at the same time, so much the better.
- The Focuser: Cold water, nature sounds, taking practice tests in a sunlight place.
- The best way to study for a test is to take a test. The best way to kill test-anxiety is to take a practice test and feel calm while you do it. This is a great way to feel calm and prepared when you do a practice test, and that leads to a better actual test.
- The Party-er: Energy drink, dubstep, drilling flashcards on the floor.
- Flashcards for me are a speed thing. If I’m drilling them, my goal is to know those definitions as fast as possible. Caffeine and fast music raise my heart rate, and sitting on the floor gives me room to spread out the cards however I need to.
- The Morning Person: Orange juice, early American hymns, transcribing notes at your desk.
- Not necessarily done during the morning! Orange juice helps keep you alert without making you open to distraction, and old American hymns just make me feel happy, so putting them together helps make transcribing a better time.
- The Finals Prepper: Black tea, folk music, interleaving any/all of the above, at the library.
- This can be done whenever, and is especially useful for just keeping yourself up to speed.
Don’t worry about doing any of these exactly, these are just moods! Mix and match parts of them, make your own, whatever. I’d recommend choosing one or two moods that work really well for you and then doing them consistently, just to really get in the habit.
Good luck!
TEXTBOOKS AND SKILLS INSTEAD OF NETFLIX AND CHILL
03 . 04 . 2016 // my day!
10:14 - chemistry
11:49 - mechanical physics
13: 57 - after lunch, had some time to answer some physics, math and chem problems 15:30 - history, reviewing Greece
16:40 - biology flashcards, trying to remember everything about vitamins
17:29 - finally feeling a little tired, decided to simply review some old notes. I may study again around 8pm, but I’m not quite sure. Regardless, it was a good day.
Hey guys! These are 7 (technically 8) tips on how to get straight A’s! I’m sorry for the mistakes — ONE: the tip “Some Study Methods” should actually be number 7, not number 1 hehe. TWO: in tip number 6, “Doing your homework”, it says ‘always remember tip number 6!’ what I mean is *always remember tip number 5!* STUDYBLRS — reblog this for a possible follow hehe (see tip 3). Anyway this whole thing took me HOURS. Hopefully it helps someone! ily all & good luck!
