SPOILERS FOR S4 PART 1 OF MANIFEST
Admittedly, it’s not ideal when one half of your ship DIES (again) midway through the final season, but how great was this Zekaela first part besides that!? Things I will not soon forget:
“I chose you. I will continue to choose you every single day, no matter if you have one day left or 10,000. I love you…”
“Just you and me under the stars.”
He tried to give her a way out, and she’s like, no, it’s you. I chose you, I choose you and I will continue choosing you.
“I choose you, Michaela Stone, just as you are, right here, back under the stars.”
And now he’s choosing her. Plus, they’re really hammering this “under the stars” theme.
Her actual reaction to hearing about Drea and Jared. Genuine smile, no sad/jealous face once Drea turned away. That was telling to me.
“I haven’t always been rooting for this couple…but the best man won. So did the best woman.”
And here’s Jared being genuinely happy for them. He was more than willing to celebrate their anniversary together. No awkwardness at all. I don’t know about you, but I appreciated this from the writers.
“It’s okay, my love. I’ll see you again. Under the stars.”
There is that theme again. This is fully happening. There’s no way it’s not. We may have to sit through some Jachaela, but that’s fine because it seems logical (yes, at least to me) Zekaela is endgame. Also, anyone else think Zeke is gonna somehow give her the okay to pursue Jared because she’s going to think she needs it?
