We’re home from California! We had a great trip but traveling is always exhausting for me so I’m really happy to be home. Turnip is being even more sweet and affectionate than usual so I think it’s safe to say she missed us. We’re picking up Mari tomorrow and also an extra little surprise!

One more big life update post— we got engaged last Friday! It’s been a long time coming and I’m so insanely happy to finally be engaged to the love of my life. Beatle seems pretty happy, too.
Hi friends! It has been a very long time since I posted here, which is primarily because life has been busy lately and I haven’t had very much energy for social media. But it’s been the good kind of busy! In May my partner and I moved in together and we are now in a much bigger and nicer place than where I was living. The whole process of moving, getting the house set up, and now working to maintain a much bigger space than I’m used to has been taking up a lot of my energy but I am so incredibly happy with our current life 🥰
The girls are both doing wonderful. They are thrilled to have a bigger space and to finally have their dad living with us. I haven’t had much time or energy to do a lot of the stuff we used to (dog sports, going on hikes, etc.) but I am hoping to start getting back into the swing of things when the weather starts to warm up! In the meantime they both seem to think that the extra space, fenced in backyard, and having my partner here makes up for it.
I will probably be going through and posting some pictures from the last few months soon. Gabe and I are flying out to California today to spend the holidays with his family so I should have plenty of new Beatle content for you all haha, and while we’re gone Mari is staying with @creekfiend who has already posted some fantastic pictures of her being her best little goblin self.
Happy birthday to the absolute light of my life! 💖 Beatle is four years old today and I can hardly believe it. She has matured into the most amazing dog and I am so proud of her. I really couldn’t have asked for a more perfect dog to share the beginning of my adulthood with— we have learned so much together in the past four years and I’m a better person because of her. I’m so excited to see what the future holds for my Beet.

We have a lot of exciting things happening in the next couple months!
In mid-May my long-term boyfriend, Gabe, is finally going to be moving in with us. We’ve been waiting for this for a very long time and I can’t even begin to express how happy I am. He’s going to be visiting for a little over a week at the end of this month, too, to start getting his things moved over from across the country.
We are also going to be getting a lot more space soon! We’ll be on the same property we’re living on right now but instead of living the basement, Gabe and I will be renting the entire house. I have plans to turn the basement into a dog training and grooming area and I’m super pumped about that. Staying in this house also means we’ll still be close to the lake (where these photos were taken) and I’m so glad because it’s the perfect place for the dogs to play. We’ll be fencing in the backyard, too, so it’s easier to let the them out. The plan is to stay in this house for a long time and we have lots of fun ideas for renovations we want to make!

When we were in California for Christmas we stumbled upon these really cool trees in a public park. They were super low to the ground and had really thick branches so we did some fun confidence building work on them! Beatle really enjoyed it.
If you don’t have anyone to celebrate with today that’s okay because Beatle is your Valentine now and she loves you!
Frozen treat prep day is the best thing I can do for future-me. When I’m having a good health day I like to make a big batch of filling and stuff as many treat-dispensing toys as I can. It’s such a big help to be able to be able to just grab one out of the freezer when I’m having a hard day and need to keep the dogs occupied.
I have mine color coded since Beatle has so many food intolerances and it also helps me make sure she and Mari don’t trade when I’m not looking (which they like to do.)
Some of the ingredients I use most often are raw eggs, organic baby food, unsalted canned tuna, plain Greek yogurt, canned pumpkin, and whatever else I have laying around that’s safe for dogs to eat.

Jumping into the New Year!
2021 brought some really great things into my life and I am so grateful. Mari is definitely the most notable, she was a total surprise but has been such a perfect fit in our family. I also got to travel to California twice to see Gabe and his family, and we finally developed solid plans for moving in together in May 💕
I know this year was hard on a lot of people but if you’re reading this, that means you made it through! I don’t know if this year will be any easier but I do know that you can find beauty and happiness in the bad times, and that’s what I intend to do. I love you all and I hope 2022 treats you well.

We’re having a great time in California. Yesterday we drove up to the mountains and we’re hoping for some snow before we leave 🤞🏻
We made it to LA! Beatle was absolutely exceptional even though it was a very long day of travel. A five hour flight, short bus ride, and 90 minute drive to get to where we are staying. She was on her absolute best behavior and I am so grateful because she was a big help. I’m so excited to be staying in California for the next week to spend Christmas with my partner’s family!
I have some exciting news! Some of you might be aware that Gabe, my boyfriend of almost two years, lives in California and I live in Georgia. Soon that will no longer be the case! In May he’s going to be moving here and we’re going to get a house together. We’re planning to stay close to the area I live in now but we will have an entire house to ourselves with much more space for the dogs. I am so unbelievably excited for this new chapter in our lives!
I’m making Beatle try on all of her winter clothes in preparation for our upcoming trip. She is putting out a plea for help.
