Oh btw Yzma is a golden example of a likeable non sympathetic villain. The audience knows she is totally evil and pretty much un redeemable but the writers and character designers did such an excellent job of making her so likeable and visually appealing A fucking plus

Kronks redemption arc has yet to be rivaled nothing can ever fucking compare.

OP did u just fucking call Yzma “visually appealing”?????

In terms of character design Yzma is visually appealing, the artists did a great job picking out colours and perfecting her silhouette. Using those design principles, they created an expressive villain that is fun to watch on screen.

op is absolutely right in that observation, good character design is about good use of shapes, curves and angles. Yzma is a fantastic example of that.

A d we can’t sideline Eartha Kitt for literally breathing life into her character to the point of perfection. Yzma was really was an exemplary villain.

you know what you shouldnt do? constantly tell your child how expensive they are to take care of. because eventually, that child gets scared of asking for money, and doesnt feed themself at school, doesnt go places with their friends that require money, because she doesnt want to be expensive. it really does get into their minds, that theyre too much money and that they shouldnt do anything.

This is… the exact opposite of that dark souls gif

I don’t think it’s possible to adequately state how fucking ballsy and skilled this player is considering the EXTREMELY specific timing of that dodge and catching the spear attack WHILE TAUNTING BETWEEN EACH THROW

I’m wheezing

Big Dick Energy

I figured they were referring to this gif

Since they do the same pose and it really seems like the opposite outcome lol

Ah yes. Shroom.

Also like. It used to be like that. I think some people forget we had a relatively ad-free internet.

Not only was the internet mostly ad-free, but online ads were almost always presumed to be scams. We would specifically install pop-up blockers because we were so distrusting of ads. Even if they weren't straight up malware, we didn't want people trying to get our money and our data (which is the point of legitimate ads). When did we stop caring?

Trying doing your anarchist community bullshit under an actual fascist government and see how many people you can actually help.

Do you think that, like, food not bombs, wasn't feeding people under trump? Do you think anarchists weren't handing out masks and hand sanitizer and delivering food in 2020?

Hey, quick question: do you think any of us stopped doing that under Biden? Do you think that the US border hasn't gotten more fascist in the last 4 years than it was before? (Please please please give to border kindness if you can afford to)

I'll do it under trump again like i did before and like i have under biden. I'll hand out cash and food like i did when obama was president, and I'll fill every refill i get for an inhaler and give those to less financially stable friends like i have through all those presidents too.

These folks are miserable, sis. They don’t be at soup kitchens or be breaking locks to vacants but want to get on people who are about that life.

Do they think anarchists aren't doing all those things in, like, Russia and other dictatorships? Sure, some things are more dangerous in one place than in another, but that doesn't mean the work stops. Defying capitalism and borders and militarism is always illegal in some ways no matter where you are. Repression is always part of it.

Nobody who actually cares about human rights has ever said "don't let politics ruin your relationships." I simply do not want any kind of relationship with a person who thinks anyone is less deserving of rights than the next based off of qualities you just don't like. And if that means I need to cut some people out my life from family members to random internet strangers then lmaooo you shouldn't have made it so easy

hey let's start spreading the reminder now that you cannot safely self-manage an abortion with herbal medicine or essential oils. natural abortifacients function by poisoning you; you wait for your body to realize you're dying and reject the pregnancy in order to conserve resources, and hope that happens before the rest of your organs shut down.

i think there will be an upsurge soon of unscrupulous and/or malicious actors preying on desperate pregnant people; do not help them kill people. don't spread recipes for herbal medicines or ingestible essential oil mixtures that purport to cause a pregnancy termination.

I know I just restating the point of that post but respecting religious freedom will sometimes require you to respect someone's belief that religious beliefs are categorically untrue, and there are a lot of people who are unable to handle this, and even more people who think they agree with this but haven't really grappled with what it means.

Something that a lot of religious folks don't seem to realize the extent to which non-religious people, more than any other religious minority, are expected to walk on eggshells around other people's beliefs at the expense of their own for the sake of social decorum, in a way which no one else is expected to do with theirs.

To name a bit of an example I have personal experience with. When I was mourning my cousin a couple years ago, I was constantly faced with the situation of people trying to comfort me from a religious perspective.

And whenever this topic comes up, the conversation is always about how "you have to be mindful of their intentions, they're trying to reach out to you and comfort you in the way they know, they're being nice, you have to appreciate the effort they're making, you have to meet them where they're at and appreciate their attempt to help you". Which is what I did, of course. In this situation, replying to their attempt to comfort you with any reminder that you don't believe in this stuff is considered a big social faux-pas that will make you look like an asshole. And to an extent I agree, it can be rude and needlessly combative.

But somethin I feel it's conspicuously absent from any conversation surrounding this type of situation like. Any interrogation of *why* is going "sorry, I don't believe in any of this, this means nothing to me" considered a bigger social faux-pas than trying to comfort a grieving person with religious beliefs you know they don't hold.

Why, even when you're literally grieving, the onus is on you as a non-religious person to be mindful of other's worldviews and tread lightly and meet them where they're at and not contradict what they believe in and never the other way around.
