So in the voice class I’m currently taking, Tia Ballard challenged me to reconnect to the fun and lack of concern that I used to have for all my voiceover stuff. So I’m challenging myself to just do one thing for fun every day for the next 30 days. This was a blast! (1/30) <3

Haven’t posted any long monologue acting practice lately, so I figured I’d do that again. We were working on British dialect again in class this week, so I figured I’d use this to brush up and solidify my confidence in what I’d practiced and learned.

The monologue is from the play The Picture of Dorian Gray by Oscar Wilde.

This is assignment #8 for my voiceover class! This assignment was to take one monologue from anywhere and do the one monologue as the 3 different characters we’d done before, each with a different mood/intention.

Just as a reminder, the characters are, in order, Hector the goat boy, Melvin the supernerd, and Ghasper the sickeningly cool bad dude who’s got some anger issues.

The monologue is from portal 2, just after waking up glados.

In addition to all the stuff about the podcast itself, here’s the backstory of the character I’ll be playing!

The Dragonborn of DnD have a different connotation than normal in this world. The Draconians were created through magical experiments by the high elves during the last great war in an attempt to create magical super soldiers.

Barthuun is a Copper Draconian with a kind face and smile, unlike many of his more brutish and sinister brothers. He wields a halberd, and wears chainmail underneath a full plate breastplate and legs. He also proudly wears a tabard of the Church of Loro’mir, the Thrimicathi church of the light.

I’m super excited to get into this character! This is gonna be a ton of fun. <3

Here’s assignment #6 for my voiceover class, doing 3 unique characters. The first is good old goat boi Hector (you can finally hear what he sounds like! It’s alot like Isaac, a character I did a post or two for ages ago for @donutfloats), second is a dude me and my friends do impressions of all the time when we’re sarcastically being super nerdy, like arguing about waifus or giving eachother shit while playing video games. Melvin doesn’t actually exist, but man is he fun to make fun of. I was struggling to think of a last character to do a voice for, and wanted something with a contrasting feeling. I recently did a voice for a smooth and deep villain-y character called Ghasper for an animation trailer that should be coming out soon, and I had a bunch of fun recording that, so I decided to just stick with that!

We’ll apparently be using these 3 characters for quite alot of class stuff in the future, so be prepared to hear some more from these three dorks.

Here’s assignment number 3, which was to voice a gif. I decided to take the opportunity to try and match some flaps for a gif from One Punch Man. I feel like this is by far my weakest assignment that I’ve turned in up to this point, but I tried some different stuff and was less focused on my acting than I should have been, so I’m cutting myself a little slack.

Hey guys, figured I’d upload a little bit of my recent acting practice just in case anyone was interested in hearing the kind of stuff I do when I’m not uploading memes and jokes. This is a dramatic monologue from the play Waiting for Lefty by Clifford Odets.

The character, Agate, is advocating for his coworkers within a cab driver’s union to fight the legislation and higher-ups in demands for fair treatment and pay.

If you’re interested in hearing more of this side of my career instead of just all the memes and jokes, let me know, I’d be happy to put more of this kind of stuff up as I practice.

(Reuploaded after fixing a minor audio bug that was bugging me.)

Honestly, this bit of dialogue from the end of doki doki literature club spoke to me in such a profound way that I felt like I had to give it a go. I changed it up a little bit to be more relevant to those of you who look up to me for voice acting, but the message as a whole is still the same. For those of you that have said i was an inspiration in the past, I hope this gives you the motivation to continue on your journey with me. It really puts things in perspective as well, I think. It did for me, at the very least.

So, yeah. Thanks for being best girl, Monika. <3
