hi i think its really cool how much you know about the world and your headcanons are great :) do you have any hetalia blog recs? like ask blog or art or something
sjhkfh thank you for that compliment!! I’m just lucky enough to have travelled a lot (pre-covid) and fjkhgh I do try to do my due diligence (research) before I speak. admittedly I have not followed new people in a while, so some of my old favs aren’t very active, so this is me gushing about mostly friends and some blogs I admire a lot but don’t know personally:
@agentomato (and their personal blog @kerouacs) is great. Toma has amazing art and churns out content a lot. Their art style is so good. Like seriously! I have seen Toma through the years and their art is goals. Do you like Philippines? Do you like the USA? Do you like Czechia? Follow Toma. You will not regret it. Join the America Freding-Fredong Joe Squad. We support Philippines giving America increasing bad nick names.
@iiuius my beloved. Art style to die for. Attention to detail and incredible character and the lighting. We have a similar creative process of taking a long ass time to finish a work because perfectionist tendencies but the end product? 11/10 worth it. I remember when I first saw her history of fashion series for germany and prussia years ago ajdkjf. Her nyo england is also absolutely iconic.
@stirringwinds, @tomato-bird, and @neviart are OG favs, even though they have moved on from Hetalia for most part these days...but I have good news for you if you’re interested in Hetalia for the divinity aspect 👀 (ok but fr, they have some of my favorite art of all time and also very good takes on characters so if you wanted to excavate some old artifacts this is where I would go)
@historia-vitae-magistras / @draw-a-circle-thats-the-foxhole is a joy if you like FACE fam and other Commonwealth characters. Maggie is a wonderful writer and an excellent shitposter. You can get NA bros angst, incredibly researched trench porn, and stuff like CUM Trio all in one. What more can you ask for?
@alfredtalia is one of the sanest people I know in the fandom. My oldest mutual too at that? Consistently creates lovely art of the Koreas and has great OCs like Singapore and Mexico! Give @ask-north-korea a follow! I have essentially adopted her NK as a canon character in my verse at this point
@kisamesfacioplegia has some of my favorite meta art ever. The German vibes...the Holy Roman Empire....nation beings being nations.......there’s a lot of really amazing symbolism, and Nicky is a very thorough and deep thinker so this is a six stars kind of blog rate from me.
@ask-risorgimento-italy is so, so good. The art style, the story, the research behind it, the animations. Seriously, Eli is incredible. This is like A++++ storytelling, you could hardly feel like this was based on an anime like Hetalia. I don’t know how to say this but, this ask blog. is just elevated.
@vartiart makes me wanna gush about historical fashion for 3 hours?? the art style is so cute, and I always love the coloring and the detail. just. everything is so good. it’s like comfort food? it makes me feel warm and really happy to see it every time. absolutely lovely. [gordon ramsay voice: oh dear. oh dear. gorgeous] vibes only here.
@gleepglorp has maybe one of my favorite styles ever in my years of being entrapped in helltalia. They just...draw faces with such distinct character that it brings me so much joy. Their Armenia OC is absolutely iconic. Very well-researched and informative. loose affiliation to Hetalia with other countries, but like...if you’ve been following my blog for a while, this is something I also tend to prefer half the time (you know, more realism).
@peonycats singlehandedly holding up my cravings for more diversity in Hetalia content. And by that I specifically mean more towards the wonderful Africa OCs gracing my dash, as well as the great India and China content. There’s definitely more on countries (and even regions) that don’t get enough love nor attention in the English-speaking world, and I think they have good takes!
@ask-pakistan gives so much love to their oc. like sincerely, there has been a few really great hetalia oc ask blogs that have come and gone in my years of hetaku, and this is probably fav one of this new age. you can just tell their pakistan is well-researched and has a very, well, lived vibe? I love their art and the relationships portrayed on the blog. And I get to learn something new about the region and country!! this one sparks joy is all I am saying.
@ask19thcentury-doctorgilbert is really, really good sjkfjk. I love the research and stories that come from this blog? I also learn a lot about the time period, and I have seen a lot of great ideas about prussia’s history and the various german states etc. just. I really enjoy their content and it’s fun to learn stuff!!!
other hetalia art blogs with content or art styles I like to curate on my blog: @chiring-art / @gnostic-heretic / @friendly-neighbourhood-desi / @miillch / @thedisappointedidealist12 / @kochei0 / @ellmovy / @sully-s / @zsocca55 / @cynikbehaviour / @bougietalia / @ekinoksin / @sketchytea - skjfkj I have no idea if half of these still create content but these are just some blogs that I’ve really enjoyed hetalia art from that I can think off the top of my head atm
