Int: The song Agnes it’s- you said that it’s your favorite one. It’s a very personal one. What’s the story behind it?

Making that first record, we had no bloody clue what we were doing in the music industry, how to make music, or how to play it.  Then you spend two years on the road, meeting all of these crazy people doing these crazy things — meeting people who throw up and get tasered, people who get in fights… All of this crazy shit happens to you, and you crash into reality. You’re not sitting alone in your bedroom in Oxford anymore. (x)

Int: The video for Agnes is really powerful. How’s it like being in the centrifuge capsule? D: Oh.. it’s kind of all of the things. It’s weird, it’s hard to explain. Um, it was really hot. It was really really hot and then as it, as it gets faster and faster, it feels like, uh, like an elephant sits on you very slowly and you can’t- you basically can’t move anything. It becomes really hard to keep your eyes open, hard to breathe, and everything hurts. It’s weird, you feel crushed, totally crushed, um, and you can feel like all of your organs changing shape which is so- I can’t explain it. Yeah, you can feel your heart struggling to pump blood because it’s flattening under the gravity and I just can’t explain it, and then you just start sweating ‘cause every muscle in your body is working ten times as hard to keep you alive.
