"Romeo's gone now get up and go live your life find a man forget about him you'll be fine"
Y/n watched Jasper pace back and forth in front of her, mumbling something unintelligible under his breath. She was confused about why he brought them to the middle of the woods. “Jasper, what’s going on? Are you okay?” she asked.
Jasper stopped and looked at y/n with a sad smile. “No, I’m not okay. Nothing is okay. I- I can’t do this anymore.”
“What do you mean?” She started to panic and tried to reach out to touch him, but Jasper backed away from her.
“Us. I can’t do it anymore.”
“Was it something I did-”
“No! You did nothing wrong.” Jasper sighed, “Look, y/n, I love you, but I can’t bear the thought of hurting you the way I did Bella. You should see me as a monster. I am a monster. I could easily kill you without a second thought.”
“But I don’t see you as a monster.”
“As much as I hate to do this, I can’t be around you. I think it’s best if we go our separate ways.” Jasper said, kissing her forehead and walking away, not looking back.
The words, ‘I think it's best that we go our separate ways,’ made her heart drop into her stomach. How could Jasper do this to her? She muttered to herself while wandering around the cold, wet woods in circles. And as the day turned into night, she guessed she'd been in the woods for hours. Tired, she laid down, curling up in a ball, trying to stay warm. Just as she was closing her eyes, she heard someone scoop her up.
“I got her!” Through the blurriness of her eyes, she could see bright red and blue lights flashing. Whoever picked her up moved her to another set of arms.
“It’s no problem, (y/d/n).”
The next morning, she had no recollection of how she got into bed. She did, however, vividly remember Jasper breaking up with her. Grabbing the closest thing to her, which was a lamp on her nightstand, she threw it against the wall out of anger. Throwing the lamp did nothing to stop the tears flowing down her face.
“Romeo’s gone now get up and go live your life find a man, forget about him you’ll be fine.” Her mom said.
“That’s the thing, mom. I don’t know if I’ll be okay.”
At the start of January, she felt better. Not exactly at 100 percent, but better than she was months ago. Embry became her person. He would be the one she’d go to whenever the nightmares plagued her mind. The one she’d go to whenever she needed to talk about things that she couldn’t bring up to her parents. Overtime, she admittedly developed feelings for him.
But as she was getting over Jasper, God, or whoever, threw a wrench in her plans in the form of the man himself.
“You’re early- you’ve got to be kidding me?! Why are you here?” she asked.
“I came to see you, y/n.”
“And what makes you think I want to see you?”
“Aren’t you the one that broke up with me and then left me in the middle of the woods?”
“I still love you, you know.”
“You have a funny way of showing it,” she muttered under her breath. “But in all honesty, did you think I’d wait around for you? Did you think that I’d just take you back after all of what you put me through? Jasper, I’m moving on. I suggest you do the same.”
She stood up, walking over to the front door and opening it. "Embry will be here soon, so it’s time for you to leave."
Jasper stared at the woman he used to call his, taking her in one last time. "I know it won't mean much to you, but I really am sorry."
"You're right. It won't."
Jasper messed up big time, and it was no one's fault but his own. Now he's got to live with the consequences of his actions for an eternity.
