She drove down the street, glancing at the tall trees out the corner of her eye in her black 1967 Chevy Impala, breathing in the woodsy pine smell. Once graduating Forks High school, she made the difficult decision in leaving for college in Arizona. Arizona was great, but it wasn’t home. And home is where she wanted to be.
Speaking of home, the first thing she wanted to do was go to first beach in La Push. Growing up as a kid, she could always remember taking trips to First Beach with her mom. But since her mom’s passing a year ago, and her being away for college, she never had the opportunity to go.
She pulled up to first beach and reminisced. Smiling, she got out the car and walked towards the beach. When she looked over, she saw a small group sitting on logs not to far off from where she was. You gave them a friendly wave, and sat down in the sand. Out the corner of her eye, they were staring at her; she could feel it. Then she saw a tall and rather muscular boy coming towards her.
“Hi! My name is Seth,” He sat down next to her happily. This kid had a lot of energy, almost like a puppy. “are you new here?”
“Hi Seth! My name is [y/n], and no, well, I’m from Forks. Though I do try to come here often,”
“Cool. Would you like to sit with my friends and I?” Seth asked. Looking past Seth, she noticed the group was watching the two of them. But one person, in particular, was staring at her. And when Seth looked back at the group, they nodded.
“I wouldn’t want to impose,”
“Nonsense! Please join us,”
“Since you asked oh so nicely, I’d be happy to join you,” Seth helped you up from the sand.
“Guys, this is [y/n]. [y/n], this is Embry, Jacob and my sister, Leah,” Her eyes followed as Seth Introduced her to the group, stopping at Leah. Leah continued to ogle at her as she sat down next to her brother Seth.
“It’s nice to meet you guys,” She smiled, which made Leah grin slightly.
“What brings you to this neck of the woods?” Embry said.
“I just graduated college and decided to return home,”
“What did you go to school for?” Leah wondered. This girl was Leah’s imprint; she wanted to know everything about her.
“Nursing, specifically midwife,”
“So you’ll be delivering babies?” Seth asked.
“Essentially yes,” She smiled. “I love the thought of bringing new life into the world. Besides, babies are cute,”
[y/n] sat with them for a couple of hours, laughing and having a good time. The she realized what time it was. “I got to get home; I still have a ton of unpacking to do.”
“Let me walk you to your car,”
“I had a lot of fun. We should meet up again,” She said, leaning against her car.
“Here’s my number... call me sometime, yeah?” Leah’s heart skipped a beat when [y/n] winked at her.
Leah felt a presence stand next to her. “You going to tell Sam you imprinted?”
“You bet your ass I am,” Leah said, as she watched [y/n] get in the car, and drive off. Leah knew she needed to tell Sam that she had imprinted, so she headed over to the home he shared with Emily.
Once there, Leah saw Sam and Emily on the couch watching a movie.
“Hey! Leah what’s going on?” Sam’s attention was on full alert. Leah never came by unless if she had to.
“I imprinted,” It felt good to Leah to say that. She could finally move on from Sam. She could finally find love again.
“Really? That’s great! Who’s the lucky guy?”
“He is a she, and her name is [y/n],” Leah beamed. “I’m going to tell her Sam. She deserves to know.” Sam could only nod his head, knowing Leah was right.
