She stared down at the four positive pregnancy tests on the counter. Her mind was racing. She and Clint were careful, or so she thought. And speaking of Clint, she was worried about rather or not he’d even want this baby. He already has three kids with Laura, and she remembered the other night him saying, “Do I want more kids? I don’t think so,” during dinner.
A knocked on the door brought her out of her thoughts. “Hey babe, are you okay? You’ve been in there awhile,”
It was Clint. She panicked and grabbed the tests and shoved them into the wicker basket under the sink that had her tampons and other feminine products. “Yeah, I’ll be out in a second,”
She composed herself and walked out of the bathroom with a smile. Clint raised his eyebrow at her. “What?”
“You feeling okay? You look a little pale,” Clint said, feeling her forehead.
“I’m fine,” She smiled.
“Come on, I got the movie started,”
Clint and her made there way into the living room and across the screen was The Incredibles. ‘Is this man serious?’ She thought to herself. Halfway through the movie, she kept shuffling to get comfortable. And it didn’t help that each time she readjusted Clint would burn a hole in the side of her head.
“What’s going on in that head of yours?” Clint asked, pausing the movie.
“Nothing is wrong,”
Sighing, “Something is wrong... I can tell,”
“How’d you feel if we had kids?”
“They’d most likely be unplanned, but definitely not unwelcomed. Why?”
“I’m… pregnant… and it’s yours,”
“Well I hope it’s mine, or we’re gonna have a problem,” Clint chuckled.
“So you’re okay with this?”
“Of course I’m okay with this! This is great news!” Clint placed his arm around her and pulled her in close. “I can’t think of any other woman to have more kids with than you,”
She grew quiet, but then asked, “What will Laura think? What about the kids?”
“She’d be absolutely ecstatic for us. And the kids would be excited to get a new sibling. There’s nothing you need to worry about. Everything will be okay,”
I can finally get started on my other fics that are in my drafts!
