Laying in the silence / Waiting for the sirens / Signs, any signs I'm alive still / I don't wanna lose it / I'm not getting through this / Hey, should I pray? should I pray / To myself? To a God? / To a savior who can...
Shots rang out and before y/n could take cover, she felt pain in her chest. Y/n hit the ground hard, hitting her head on the pavement. Her hand instinctively went to the wound and saw blood. She’d been shot.
Happy Birthday - Jay Halstead x Reader
Summary: Y/n never celebrated her birthday. She never had a reason to, but that all changed when she met Jay. Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader Word Count: 1,060 Warning(s): angst, mentions drinking, mentions a hook up, mentions someone getting shot, mentions blood, parents fighting, mentions drugs & alcohol, etc.
Prompt(s) Used: “I never cared for my birthday until I met you. Now each birthday reminds me of how grateful I am that we get to spend another year together.”
---
Y/n never celebrated her birthday. She never had a reason to, but that all changed when she met Jay. When she met Jay, he had just come back home from being overseas and she was going through some stressful legal issues with her mother. And what better way to sort out your problems than a couple of drinks. She saw him sitting alone at the end of the bar. Y/n thought to herself, ‘he looks friendly enough to vent to,’ so she sat next to him and introduced herself. Over the next few hours, they listened to each other’s stories, progressively getting more and more drunk. Next thing they know, they leave the bar together and hook up at her place.
Pop - Jay Halstead
Summary: y/n and jay have been dating for some time, y/n is pregnant and one day he goes into labor in the district. Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader Word Count: 958 Warning(s): pregnancy, anxiety/fear of jay leaving(??), labor, etc.
Request By: @fofisstilinski
---
They hadn’t been dating long; they just celebrated their one-year anniversary. Several weeks later, she found herself vomiting into the toilet. When Jay asked her to go see a doctor, she said that it was just a stomach bug and it’ll pass. Only it didn’t pass, it got worse. Her head pounded in a strong, but dull throb. Her breasts were sore and tender. Every time she moved, the nausea worsened. She couldn't even hold anything down. It was only when she talked to her mom about her sister having a baby did she think about her symptoms. She wanted to deny that there was a possibility that she could be pregnant, but couldn’t. The signs all pointed to pregnancy.
After taking two pregnancy tests, she paced back and forth in the bathroom. She and Jay hadn't talked about kids, let alone having them. ‘Would he want to have a child with me?’ ‘Would he leave and make me a single parent?’ She brushed off her thoughts as the alarm on her phone went off.
Picking up the tests, she saw two pink lines. “Oh, my god. I’m pregnant!”
She grabbed her phone and made an appointment with her doctor to confirm it. When her doctor confirmed it, it made the situation all too real. There was a baby inside her. A baby that was no bigger than a raspberry. The baby that was most likely conceived on their anniversary.
Now all she had to do was tell Jay.
When she told him, it rendered him speechless. She thought her worst fears would come true, but then Jay embraced her. “I love you so much, Y/n,”
“I love you to, Jay, but I can tell something else is on your mind,”
“I’m scared that I will not going to be a good enough dad. I don’t want my kid to hate me,”
“There’s no doubt in my mind that you’ll be a good dad. And as far as our child hating you, I don’t think that’s possible. If I love you, then they will love you to,”
Jay grinned, letting out a shaky breath. His hands palmed her lower abdomen, “We’re going to have a baby,”
“We sure are, Jay. We sure are,”
Things got easier as the pregnancy progressed. Sure, they still had their fears, but they worked through them together. As she got closer to her due date, she went on maternity leave. And being on maternity leave was boring. All she ever did was sit around the house waiting to go into labor.
Y/n sat on the couch, watching tv and running her hand over her large bump. The baby kicked against her hand, “You’re bored too? Glad I’m not the only one. Say, why don’t we go visit daddy down at the station?” She asked. When the baby kicked again, she moved to the edge of the couch ready to pull herself up. “Okay little one, we’re going to see daddy.”
She got in her car and drove towards the 21st district. When she arrived, y/n walked up to the front desk. “Hey! Trudy, Is Jay upstairs?”
“Hey Momma! What are you doing here?” Trudy came from behind the desk and stood in front of her. Her hands roamed over her belly to see if the baby would move. “Aren’t you supposed to be at home resting?”
“Yeah, but we got bored, so we decided to come visit,”
Trudy turned towards the desk and told an officer he was in charge. The two made their way up the stairs slowly, and at the top, y/n can see everyone was at their desk. Jay saw Trudy at the top of the stairs and assumed she was looking for Voight, but then he saw you standing next to her.
Jay stood up and walked over to her. “You should be at home,”
“No, hey hello how you doing?”
“Don’t hog her, Halstead!” Adam shouted from his desk, making his way over to the couple. Adam hugged her as tight as the belly would allow.
Jay guided her over to his desk, and she sat down in his chair, feeling a relief in her feet and back. Her back hurts more today than it ever has in her pregnancy. She shifted in the seat, alerting Jay.
“You okay?”
“I’m fine. My lower back just really hurts,”
From across the room, Hailey grew concerned. During her pregnancy, Hailey was a godsend. If, for whatever reason, Jay couldn’t make it to her appointments, she was there. When Jay got shot and was in the hospital, she was there.
“Back pain? How long has this been going on?” Hailey asked.
“Uh... since this morning,”
“What?! Why didn’t you tell me?”
“Because I knew you’d act like this,”
Hailey watched the expecting mother uncomfortably move in the chair. She looked at her and boldly asked, “Have you been having contractions?”
“No,” She said, lying. She’s been having contractions since around five that morning, but didn’t bother to tell Jay because they were dull and tolerable. But as the morning went on, they got stronger and came more frequently.
“Really? Because to me it looks like you’re having contractions,”
At that very moment, she felt a wetness in-between her legs. “Umm not to alarm anyone, but I’m pretty sure my water just broke,”
Jay spun the chair towards him. “Are you sure?”
“I’m sure I didn’t piss myself, Jay,” She hissed, feeling a contraction come on. Jay grabbed a hold of her hand, allowing her to squeeze his hand. Once the contraction passed, Jay helped her out of the seat and outside to his car.
“We’re really about to be parents, Jay,”
“We sure are, Y/n. We sure are,”

“You need to sleep, or Santa won’t come.”- Kevin Atwater (Day 2)
Pairing: Kevin Atwater x Reader Word Count: 266 Warning(s): none.
Prompt(s) Used: “You need to sleep, or Santa won’t come.”
---
Watching children get excited for Christmas is a beautiful thing. Maybe it’s the joy in their eyes when they know Santa’s coming to visit. Or maybe it’s when they leave milk and cookies out and the next morning it’s all gone. It’s really something special to watch. Especially for the Atwater family. They’ve had a tough year. Kevin got shot. Y/n was in a car accident in February. And on top of that, their oldest, Maya, who was five, was hospitalized for pneumonia.
Mia, who was three, ran up to her on the couch, “Momma! When’s Santa coming?”
“He comes during the night duh,” Maya answered for y/n.
Kevin, who walked from the kitchen into the living room, “Yeah, and he won’t give you presents if you’re awake,”
Mia’s eyes widen in shock. “But I’ve been a good girl all year daddy,”
“You sure have, baby girl. But you need to sleep, or Santa won’t come,” Kevin told Mia. The couple watched as the two girls raced up the stairs to their room. “Ah! A moment of peace and quiet.”
“It won’t be so quiet when the third one comes along,” Y/n smiled, running her hand up and down her belly.
Kevin smiled at his beautiful wife. He sauntered over, putting his hand over hers. “I’m hoping this one is a boy,”
“I still say it’s a girl,” Y/n chuckled when Kevin groaned. From upstairs, they heard Mia shout for Kevin. “I suggest you go see what she wants before she comes down here.”
“Don’t eat all cookies without me,”
“I promise,”

It’s short and I apologize. I’m under a lot of stress right now. I haven’t even started writing day one yet.

Silent Night - Chicago PD (Day 4)
Summary: When silent night takes on a whole new meaning. Pairing: Chicago pd x reader Word Count: 631 Warning(s): Angst, mentions drugs, mentions guns, a shot out, mentions death/killing someone, being shot, mentions blood, etc.
---
They had arrived at the warehouse with the narcotics unit, ready for the big drug bust. Like the members of Intelligence, she wasn’t all too thrilled to be working with unit. She loathed the narcotics unit with a passion. The narcotics unit was mean, nasty, cold-hearted and did most of everything half-assed. And to top things off, they were always quick to put the blame on someone and close the case rather than solve it and bring the right person to justice. She despised police officers like that.
Y/n exited the vehicle, adjusting her vest and making sure everything was strapped on correctly. The last thing she needed was her vest to come loose and have it fall off mid bust.
“Alright everyone,” the narcotics boss called out. Everyone gathered round to hear the game plan. “For months people have been dying left and right of a highly illegal drug called cloud. It’s a nasty concoction of two different drugs in one. If we manage to take out this drug operation, then it’ll be a major blow to the distributor,”
“And these people are highly dangerous and won’t hesitate to kill, so keep your eyes open at all times,” Voight’s eyes scanned at the group of officers in front of him. They were all armed and ready for what's in store. But before they could enter the warehouse, shots were fired.
Everyone scrambled for cover.
“Where the hell did those shots come from,” Y/n heard someone yell. She poked her head over the hood of the car, trying to look from where the shots were coming from, only to duck back down when shots rang out.
"How did they even know we were coming?" Y/n mumbled under her breath.
From beside her, Jay replied, "They must have a source from the inside."
For several minutes the gunshots continued. It sounded like an endless stream of bullets. Once again, she peeked her head over the hood of the car. "I can't get a good angle,"
"You want me to cover you?" Jay asked.
"Yeah. On the count of three,"
On the count of three, she quickly moved from behind the car to behind a rusted wall of the warehouse. Putting her rifle up to her eye, and looked through the scope. She spotted where one of the shooters was and popped off a shot, killing them. “One shooter is down,” she shouted out, not knowing if anyone heard her.
Y/n needed to move again. But this time, she didn’t have anyone to cover her, so she’d be vulnerable. Being shot was a risk she was willing to take. And if she were to be shot, or worse, killed, then lord giveth and taketh away.
Taking a deep breath, she briefed a hail Mary before moving from behind the wall to a stack of concrete dividers. The thing is, she wasn’t fast enough. The shot rang out and hit her just below her vest and above her jeans. A loud scream of pain left her mouth as she hit the ground. She was quick to apply pressure, but hissed when her hand met with the wound. Her heart began to race. Was she dying? She certainly felt like she was.
She laid on the cold, wet concrete staring up at the darkened sky. Through her blurred vision, y/n could tell that the moon and stars were brighter than normal. Was the good lord calling for her to come home?
Sleep in heavenly peace.
The snow was starting to be stained red with blood. Y/n struggled to keep her eyes open. The light was getting brighter and brighter. She could feel herself slip away. With a smile on her face, she closed her eyes.
Sleep in heavenly peace.

That ending was really dark.

Mistletoe - Adam Ruzek (Day 10)
Summary: Adam was in the Christmas spirit. Y/n not so much. Pairing: Adam Ruzek x Reader Word Count: 355 Warning(s): Mentions death of a family member, mentions drugs & alcohol addiction, etc
Prompt(s) Used: 24. “Oooo, we’re under the mistletoe!” “No No No No- mphh!”
---
“You know Dasher and Dancer and Prancer and Vixen Comet and Cupid and Donner and Blitzen but do you recall the most famous reindeer of all?” Adam sang, dancing around the living room of his shared home with his girlfriend, y/n. From the couch, y/n watched as Adam decorated the tree. It’s not that didn’t like Christmas, she did. But when her grandmother died two years ago, the holidays haven’t been the same for her.
Adam grabbed another string of gold tinsel, wrapping it around the tree. He looked back at the woman sitting on the couch. “You know, your grandma wouldn’t want you to mope like this,”
“Yeah, I know, but I miss her so much. She practically raised me at twelve because my mother picked drugs and alcohol over me. She sacrificed almost everything to make sure I had what I needed. Providing it wasn’t much, but I was happy,”
“Sounds like a great grandma,”
“She was, and she’d love you, you know?”
“Oh?”
“Yeah. You remind me a lot of my grandfather. An idiot with good intentions,” Y/n chuckled, getting up from the cough and walking into the kitchen. She set her mug into the sink, feeling Adam’s arms wrap around her waist. Together, they sway back and forth, taking in the comfort.
“Have I told you that I love you?” Y/n asked, turning around to face Adam.
“Not today, but it wouldn’t hurt to tell me,”
“I love you so much,”
“I love you, y/n,” Adam smiled at the woman in his arms. He loved y/n so much. He’d do anything for her. “Come on, my darling. The rest of the tree needs to be decorated!”
He grabbed her hand, leading her out of the kitchen. But Adam stopped in the entryway, “Oooo, we’re under the mistletoe! You know what that means,”
“No No No No- mphh!” Y/n protested, throwing her arms up to try to stop Adam. But that didn’t work because Adam placed several messy kisses all over her face.
“I’ll spend the rest of my life always wanting to kiss you,”

A Gunshot Wound for Christmas - Jay Halstead (Day 12)
Summary: While chasing a suspect, she gets shot in the arm. The worse part about it was it the day before Christmas. Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader Word Count: 475 Warning(s): a steak out(??), mentions an injury, a gunshot, a gunshot wound, one curse word, etc
a/n: It’s the first day of the 12 days of Christmas! Enjoy!
---
She and Jay sat in the car, waiting for some sort of sign from the suspect’s home. They’ve been sitting here for what felt like hours. She was starting to get a little antsy.
“I don’t have all day here dude. Some people want to go home on Christmas,” She grumbled under her breath. “How mad do you think Voight you’d be if we just stormed the house?”
“I imagine he wouldn’t be all to happy,”
“It’s absolutely freezing, its snowing and let’s not forget the ice on the ground. And what person commits a crime on Christmas Eve? Don’t they know that they’re supposed to behave themselves this time of year?”
“People are stupid,”
“You got that right,” She replied. Squinting her eyes at the two-story brick home, she reached over grabbing the binoculars from Jay’s lap. Adjusting them, she saw a man leave the house.
Quickly opening the door, she walked over the suspect. But, of course, once he saw her and saw the badge on her hip, they ran. Her and Jay began to chase him down the icy and snow covered street.
From behind her, Jay called out, “Police! Stop!”
This caused him to look over their shoulder, but they continued to run going through yards and hoping over fences. The two cops chased the person in question for several more blocks, before they broke off. Jay went in one direction, y/n in the other. They hoped they could cut them off this way.
Running on to another street, she saw a group of kids playing in the snow. “Hey! Did you see someone run through here?” She asked, clearly out of breath.
“Yeah, they went that way,” a kid said, pointing towards an alleyway.
She gave a subtle nod and ran into the alleyway. But as luck would have it, there was a patch of ice she didn’t see and she slid. To make it worse, the suspect her and Jay were chasing came from behind a car and popped off a shot, hitting her in the arm.
She hit ground, and y/n heard the crunch of snow coming towards her. The suspect stood over her, pointing the gun right at her head. As they were about to pull the trigger, Jay side tackled him. Breathing a sigh of relief, y/n sat up clutching her left bicep.
“You good?” Jay asked, as sirens drew near.
“Yeah. It’s a through and through,” She and Jay watched as a patrol car pulled up and officers shoved the guy in the backseat.
“What a Christmas present am I right?” Jay chuckled as he helped her stand up and walk her over to Foster and Brett.
“It’s a shit gift to be honest,” y/n laughed. “I’m going to have fun explaining this one to my family tomorrow at dinner,”

“when you touch me I feel a little less broken”- Greg “Mouse” Gerwitz
Summary: Stressed out and wanting some comfort, she goes to Mouse. Pairing: Greg “Mouse” Gerwitz x Reader Word Count: 522 Warning(s): a pinch of angst, mentions killing/murder, a couple of curse words, etc
I was hoping for some angsty fluff. Like maybe the reader and Mouse have had an on and off casual thing over the years and she has had a really tough time at work as a detective because all the cases have ended badly and one night she shows up and she needs some comfort
Requested by: @gottaboopthesnoot
====================================================
There were piles and piles of paperwork surrounding her. All from different cases spanning over a month. Each case had the same MO, but intelligence never caught the killer. It was like the killer was always two steps ahead of them. And whoever was doing the killings was still out there and that frustrated her. When she took oath, she vowed to protect and serve. So for her to not solve these cases hit her hard.
“Why don’t you go home,”
She looked up and saw Voight standing in front of her desk. “As much as I’d like to, I want to find the killer. I have to find the killer. I want justice for these victims and their families,”
“We’ll catch whoever did it, but we won’t be able to if you’re tried,” Voight reassured her.
“True,” She placed all the paperwork in their appropriate folder, and she grabbed her coat off the back of her chair and told Voight to have a goodnight. It was times like this when she was stressed out that she needed a little comfort. The person she knew she could always count on was Greg, a.k.a. Mouse. So instead of heading home, she went straight to his place, which wasn’t too far from hers.
Dragging her feet down the carpeted hall, she knocked on the door of his apartment. Mouse opened the door and greeted her. “Hey! I had a feeling you were coming,”
“Yeah,”
“Come in. Can I get you anything?”
“No, thank you,” She sat down on the couch and stared at TV in front of her. The spot next to her on the couch dipped as Mouse sat down.
“What’s going through that head of yours?”
“I just- I’m frustrated. Whenever we get a possible lead, I get excited because maybe, just maybe, we can finally put this sick bastard behind bars. But then this lead gets cold, or just goes nowhere. Let’s not forget that this asshole is always two steps ahead of us. Not solving these cases makes me feel completely and utterly useless as a detective,”
“I happen to think you’re a great detective,” Greg said, wrapping his arm around her shoulders.
“You’re just saying that,”
“I’m not just saying that. You know what I love most about you? Your passion. Your passion to solve these crimes and bring those families some closure,”
“Really?”
“Yeah,” Greg smiled, bringing her closer to him. For a moment, everything was quiet. She loved moments like this.
“You know, when you touch me I feel a little less broken. You make me feel like everything will be okay despite the world being seriously fucked up,”
“It’s sort of my job.” Greg stood up, “Let’s get you to bed. You need all the rest you can get.”
Greg led her down the hall to his bedroom. He tossed her a shirt and a pair of shorts to change into. Once dressed, she crawled into bed and got as close as she could get to him.
“Thank you, Greg,”
He kissed the top of her head, “No problem, Y/n. No problem,”

“Who did this?” - Jay Halstead
Summary: She showed up at her best friends Jay apartment battered and bruised. The classic boy loves girl, but girl is in a relationship with an asshole cliché. Pairing: Jay Halstead x Reader Word Count: 670 Warning(s): Abuse (physical), domestic violence, mentions blood, fighting, etc.
====================================================
She kept her head down as we walked down the familiar hallway to Jay’s apartment. She and her current, well, ex-boyfriend got into a heated argument about him being to controlling with her when he suddenly smacked her across the face. The smack was hard enough to send her to the floor. The beating continued with him kicking her repeatedly in the torso. Just when she thought he was done, he wasn’t. Because he sent about a half dozen punches to her face. She pretended to be knocked out, and when she heard him mumble under his breath that he was going to Molly’s, she gingerly stood up and left.
Raising her fist to knock on the door, she hoped Jay was home. She knew she could’ve gone to anyone in intelligence, but she knew Jay longer than everybody else.
She went to knock again, but Jay answered. “Can I help you?”
Taking the sunglasses off, “Hey, Jay,”
“Y/n! Oh my god! What happened? Who did this?” Jay urgently ushered her inside. He sat her down on the couch as he left the room to get the first aid kit.
“Joshua,” She replied. “When I mentioned that he was a little controlling, he got pissed and lost it. He- he smacked me, Jay,”
“I’m going to kill him,” Jay growled, cleaning the blood from your busted lip.
“Don’t. It’s not worth it. He’s not worth it,”
“Are you serious right now?” Jay stopped cleaning her lip, and looked at her. “He hurt you, y/n. God knows what else he did you!”
“He kicked me a few times before punching me,” she revealed.
“All the more reason to go to med!” He yelled as she flinched. Jay looked at the defeated woman in front of him and sighed. “Look, I love you more than anything in this world. And I’ll never forgive myself for not doing something. Please, let me help you.”
At this, y/n broke down and cried. Jay took her in his arms, and rocked her back and forth, rubbing her back and whispering in her ear. He felt nothing but rage towards Josh. He wanted to beat the hell out of him and make him feel the same thing he made y/n feel.
“Hey, I forgot something at my desk do you think you’ll be okay being by yourself?”
“I know you’re going to go do something to him, Jay. He’s at Molly’s,”
“You know me well,” He said, as he grabbed his keys and left the apartment. On the way to Molly’s, he called for a unit to meet him outside of the popular bar. And once he got there, he didn’t waste time walking in. He saw Josh sitting in a booth with his boys.
“Hey man! How’s it going?” Josh smiled, not a care in the world. This irritated Jay to the core.
“Does your friends here know that you beat the shit out of your girlfriend before coming here?”
“Hey man! We’re just trying to have a good time,” A friend from besides Josh spoke.
“So beating a woman is a good time to you?”
“What? No-,”
“Well, that’s what your dear friend Josh did. Get up, Josh. You’re under arrest,”
“You can’t arrest me! You have no proof!”
“I have all the proof I need sitting on my couch,” Jay forced Josh to stand up and put him in handcuffs. He led him outside and gladly shoved him in the back seat of the patrol car. Jay knew he was going to need to file a report and take pictures for evidence, but he could do that tomorrow. He just wanted to get back home to y/n.
When arriving home, he saw y/n asleep out on the couch. He quietly walked over to the sleeping woman and draped the blanket from the couch over her. He knew it would be a while before she got into any relationship, but he’d give her all the time she needed.

Comparing - Adam Ruzek
Pairing: Adam Ruzek x Halstead!Reader Word Count: 900 Warning(s): Angst, argument/fighting, a pinch of sadness, etc
Requested By: Anon
Request: Can you write a Adam Ruzek request of him getting into an argument with his girlfriend who is the youngest Halstead sister and them making up? Bonus if her brothers get pulled into helping Adam out. Thank you!
=============================================================
She knew exactly how the argument started. It was over his ex, Kim. Now, Kim wasn’t a horrible person. She’s actually quite nice. But every now and then Adam would compare her to Kim. Sometimes without even thinking about it, he’d compare her to Kim. It bothered her, but she never told Adam about it.
One night at home, she had enough and snapped.
“SHUT UP,” she yelled, looking at Adam. “Stop comparing me to Kim!”
“Y/n, Baby-,”
“If you finish that sentence by saying you don’t compare me to Kim I swear to god I’m going to put a dose of lead in between your eyes,”
“When have I ever compared you to Kim?”
“Really? Do you really want me to answer that question?” She gave Adam a dirty look. Adam moved closer to her on the couch. “You compare me to her all the time. I think most of the time you don’t even realize that you’re doing it,”
“You know I love you,”
“Do you though? Sometimes I feel like you don’t. It hurts me so much when you compare me to Kim. And I understand she’ll always have a spot in your heart, but she’s your past. If you and I have any hope for the future, you need to fully get over Kim.” She got off the couch and walked towards their shared bedroom. Grabbing a duffel bag, she began stuffing her clothes and toiletries in. Once she was finished, she zipped up the bag and left the room.
“Wait... where are you going?!” Adam stood up from the couch in a panic.
“I’m gonna see it Jay will let me stay with him. I- I need a couple of days,”
“Please don’t leave,” Adam choked out, reaching for her wrist. When she turned around, the look of hurt was clear on Adam’s face.
“I don’t want to leave, but you keep comparing me to Kim. You left me with no choice, Adam.” She pulled her wrist away and walked to the door. She didn’t dare turn her head to look back at the man.
Lifting her hand, she knocked on the door of her brother Jay’s apartment. She was about to knock again when the door opened.
“Hey! What are you doing here? Not that I mind seeing you,”
“Can I stay here? Adam and I got into an argument,” She asked.
“Of course! You’re always welcomed here,” Jay replied, stepping aside. She walked in and immediately sat down on the couch. “What did you two argue about?”
“He kept comparing me to Kim,” She frowned. “I love him, I do, but I don’t deserve to be in a relationship where I’m compared to his ex.”
“Will you be okay?”
“Honestly? I don’t know, Jay,” She yawned, exhaustion finally catching up to her.
“How about you go to bed? I’ll bring you a glass of water,”
“That’ll be great,” She grabbed the duffle bag and headed to the bedroom down the hall. Kicking off her shoes, she crawled into bed. Not too long after settling in bed, she fell asleep. Jay walked in and saw his sister fast asleep, so he set the glass of water down on the nightstand and closed the door softly behind him.
The next morning walking into the firehouse, she was more quieter than normal. She would always say good morning to everyone on shift and then get herself a cup of coffee. When she didn’t do this, her co-workers were alarmed. Everyone at the firehouse loved her and they were all worried about her, but they gave her space.
After coming back from a call, she immediately went to the bunkroom. Laying down, she stared at the ceiling. Her mind kept going back to the night before. Instinctively, she played with the four-leaf clover necklace Adam got for her birthday the year before.
“Hey y/n, I really hate to bother you, but there’s someone here to see you,” She propped herself up on her forearms and saw Stella standing in the doorway with Adam behind her.
She sat up and threw her legs over the side of the bed. “It’s fine, Stella,”
Once Stella left, Adam came and sat next to her. “I’m sorry,”
“You came all this way just to say ‘I’m Sorry’? You can do better than that, Adam,”
“Yeah, I know, but I mean it. And I shouldn’t have been comparing you to her. You’re not Kim and won’t be anything like her. She’s in my past, and you are my future,”
“Am I though?” She raised her eyebrows.
“You are,” Adam reached over, grabbed her hand and gave it a light squeeze. “I want us to work. I want us to move past this. I want us to build a future where we have a house with a white picket fence and fill it with kids and dogs or other animals. I want it all with you.”
She sighed, “I want all that to, but you can’t keep comparing me to Kim,”
“I swear not to compare you to Kim ever again. And if I do, please call me out on it,”
She rested her head on his shoulder and closed her eyes. Not too soon after closing her eyes, the alarm came overhead, letting her know she had a call.
“Duty calls,” She stood up and walked to the door.
“Be safe,”
“Always am,”

Don’t Die on Me - Antonio Dawson x Reader
Request: Could you do "don't die on me- please" where the reader is a nurse at Chicago Med, and Antonio comes in badly wounded? Thank you! Requested by: @bleeding-fandom-heart Word Count: 645 Warning(s): bullet wound, blood, hospitals, etc I’m not entirely sure what else to put.
It was a pretty normal Tuesday evening at Chicago Med. Stitch a wound, see a regular, start filing and or update files on patients... no real trauma.
Little did you know that was about to change.
“Put him in trauma room three,” Maggie called. You hear this, and you stopped what you were doing. And the sight you were greeted with wasn’t pretty; Antonio laid on the stretcher getting pale from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
“Antonio!” you started to race over, but Sharon caught your wrist. “Sharon, let me go! Let me treat him!”
“He’s in good hands with Connor,” Sharon said, letting go of your wrist. You watched in horror as your co-workers worked to save Antonio’s life.
“I- I gotta go call Gabby,” you stuttered. Walking to the break room, you shakily pulled your phone out your coat pocket, dialing Gabby’s number.
“Dawson,”
You sigh, and took a deep breath in and let it out slowly. “Its Antonio.”
“Oh my god. Is he okay? What’s going on?” The tone in Gabby’s voice changed drastically.
“I’m not entirely sure Gabby. They just brought him in. Goodwin won’t even let me near him,” You rested your elbows on your knees. Admittedly, you were scared. You and Antonio had talked about the future a couple of times; several times actually. You both wanted to get a house together, and maybe add one or two more kids. Every single one of those plans was fading.
“Matt and I are on our way,”
You tossed the phone aside after hanging it up. The tears welled up and eventually spilled over. Just then a hand was placed on your shoulder. Looking up, you see Sharon standing there.
“I can’t lose him... I love him so much,”
“I know you do,”
“Sharon, what if he dies? How will I go on?” you cried out.
“There’s no need to think like that [y/n]. Antonio will be fine,” Sharon placed her free hand the back of your head, comforting you.
Several minutes later, the door to the break room opens. Your head snapped up, and you saw Gabby and Matt. The Latina rushed over to you, taking you in her arms.
“Antonio is the strongest person I know. He’ll be fine,”
“I’m scared Gabby,”
“I know you are, and I am too, but you need to calm down. We don’t need you passing out as well,” Gabby said, wiping the tears from your face with her thumbs. Then the three of you sat down on the couch, where you await news on Antonio.
Hours go by, and you have yet to hear anything. Just when you begin thinking the worst, there was a knock on the door. “I’m going to be honest with you. He almost died on the table, but we stopped the bleeding and managed to get the bullet out. Although he’s not out of the woods just yet.”
“When will he be awake?” Matt avoiding using the word If. The last thing he wanted to do was make the two women upset.
“To be honest, its hard telling,” Connor shrugged his shoulders. He wished he could give more information regarding Antonio.
“Can- can we go and see him?” You asked.
“Of course,” The walk to Antonio’s room filled your body with anxiety. Arriving to his room you see him hooked up to multiple IV’s. Your heart broke at seeing him hooked up to several things at once. “here we are,”
You turned to face Connor. “Thank you,”
“No need to thank me [y/n],” Connor smiled, patting your shoulder and then proceeded to walk down the hall.
“Hey, Matt and I have to get back to 51. Update us if anything changes?”
“Of course,” You nodded. You walked in Antonio’s room and pulled up a chair. Taking his hands in yours, you request, “don’t die on me- please?”
This is the best I could do @bleeding-fandom-heart i hope you like it!
I’m taking requests! Please head over to my prompt list.
