PROMPT: Three accidental kisses... that perhaps weren't so accidental after all.
There are no masquerades in the North. At least, not likethis.

1) is there a story you’re holding off on writing for some reason?
There always are! Mostly original fiction... I’ve had a story percolating for over four years that I’ve had a lot of trouble working out in a way that I feel like I can actually write it. And another story that I’m super excited about that HOPEFULLY I will use this NaNo as an excuse to write some of. It involves a displaced princess and a found family in the mob, ninja twins that no one can tell apart, their leader with four sisters who just want him to go on a date, and weapons that level up.
There’s a HinaKage fic I want to write that’s sort of taken the back seat due to the copious amounts of AnS fic I have on my plate, too--Hinata works at a sports shop and gets kinda obsessed with the tall dark guy who keeps buying volleyball gear.
Of course I’m working on five AnS fics which are all pretty much on pause for the moment because work is kicking my ass, too. So I guess I’m holding off on writing everything... these include band!au, villain!shirayuki, sexpollen!fic, cat!obi, and childhood au. Also a prompt I promised Sab.
Really, really, really wish they were all already written. :p
24) have you ever become an expert on something you previously knew nothing about, in order to better a scene or a story?
‘Expert’ is taking it too far, definitely. In the past I didn’t do much research. But coming up in the future I’m going to have to learn a hell of a lot about hemlock, let me tell you. (Why did I do this to myself?)
Usually I write what I know... though that’s getting harder and harder as time goes on.
Thanks for the ask!

This looks like fun 😋✌️
I’m semi-back so why not do a random q&a at one AM
Slipping in under the wire.
For Obiyuki Week Day 7: Protect.
There's danger everywhere.
Shirayuki feels it pressing in on them. The castle hallways, which should feel safe in their familiarity, instead are too open, too quiet, too empty. Her heart gallops madly. She has just seen Kai skewered on the end of a man's sword, and she can't unsee it. The blood; his eyes; the death.
Obi, at her back, urges her forward. His hand presses between her shoulder blades, protective but hard. "Hurry."
Nature Witch
Obiyuki Week Day 1 Prompt: Listen.
I don't normally do this so its hush hush, okay?
It's after two in the morning, but Shirayuki is awake, looking at her computer with glazed incomprehension when Obi's text pops up in the corner of the screen. She blinks.
1: what are you currently working on? , 9: what is the aesthetic of your current project
1: I have several projects I keep rotating through because I can’t focus on anything long enough to get through all of it, unfortunately. But my current projects are: a) Deep Wood AU, wherein Obi is a cat, Shirayuki is a girl of the wood, and Big Problems appear; b) Childhood AU, wherein Shirayuki will soon enter high school and realize Obi is very attractive in auto shop; c) Band AU, wherein Zen heads a band and Yuzuri is a huge fan; d) A snippet based on canon where Obi is in a fight, whoops.
9: The aesthetic for the snippet is a dark night, empty corridors, flashing knives, and a broken window.
Writer's ask: 3 and 7
There’s a fight and it’s not good.
At this precise moment my current work is canon, I suppose. I’d say maybe yes? Clarines around the castle seems to be a bright, happy place, though I’m sure it’s got its problems.
6. How do you get through writer’s block?
I don’t have a set method. I usually start writing something else... something that isn’t currently frustrating the bejeezus out of me. The other day I tried something different though: I started just writing out the dialogue freehand, on a pad of paper, and doing it that way really helped me stop worrying so much about the words and focusing on the forward flow of the writing.8. Briefly discuss your outlining process, if you outline.
Outlining is SUCH A GOOD IDEA! 99% of the time I don’t do it, but I did a little bit for childhood au. The process is basically spitting my ideas onto a blank document so I don’t forget them, hahaha. Because I will forget.
In regards to your prompt request: Shirayuki, who works as a waitress at a late-night diner, and Obi the street fighter that comes in during the wee hours of the morning? (No pressure! If it strikes anything!)
Obi’s shoulder throbbed as he relaxed into the booth. It had been a hard night - not a bad one, a good kind of hard, but enough to make him glad it was just about over. His nerves still crackled with adrenaline, the squeak of the booth and the rattle of the cash register grating on his nerves but not enough to keep him from closing his eyes for a moment. His heartbeat slowed with every deep breath.
This idea is fantastic and I want to support it as best I can. I’m constantly amazed that you guys take your free time to provide this for us; so this is quite literally the least I can do! There’s a lot more below~~~~~~
You are an absolute sweetheart. I never would have expected to see myself here! Among such classy acts! Thank you for being lovely and wonderful. Something like this honestly compels a writer to write more, and I can’t wait to try to make you happy next time!
@claudeng80 tagged this journal, and considering that I actually wrote something last night, I can have more to share! WOO.
She hoped she was sitting naturally. She wasn't actually sure what naturally was supposed to look like at the moment, but she tried very hard to achieve it.
bb Shirayuki.
AU: Bellydance
Shirayuki peeks around the corner, half hidden by the water fountain. He’s still there.
