This post drives me nuts bc I expected everyone to be like "Aww bongjoonheaux our precious baby angel, you poor unmoisturized creature" but almost every single tag is like "Yeah man that's not a thing in Bloodborne." Partner's experienced so much secondhand vindication they're like doing pushups in the living room

I feel like it's hard for any other game narrative to truly surpass Bloodborne in my heart because Bloodborne takes the typical "live, die, respawn" cycle and goes "isn't dying and reawakening over and over again its own nightmare? Isn't it horrifying to awaken again and again to a blood soaked world and to have survive only through slaughter? And is does your prey even deserve slaughter? Are they not all victims of the hubris of others?" But the only way out is through a bloodbath of your making. They just weave the narrative into the core gameplay seamlessly. And then they play really sick music while you fight the coolest monsters ever designed (which are eldritch horrors, victims of one's own hubris, more victims of other people's hubris, and the witches of Hemwick, idk what their deal is).
