The Pride’s full story is out now! You can literally get the beginning, middle and end!

In fact, as a special offer, if you want to get the whole thing and read from start to finish in print, you can use discount code ALT15 for 15% off!

On our online store you can get this offer, and there’s also some limited edition prints by @kevinwada and @csmithart (we have some more coming soon too)

So grab The Pride now, by me and a cavalcade of incredible talents like @kristaferanka @benwilsonham @snibbits @melovecomics @pryce14 @wscottforbes @kirbish @jdmakescomics to name but a few!

@annathecrow, @kaiscove I highly recommend this exceedingly gay series, with its frikkin sweet art and enjoyable storyline and Black Lesbian Totally Not Wonder Woman also the fact that every time someone makes a gay Batman expy, said homosexual caped crusader is inexplicably better adjusted than Actual Batman, leading me to conclude that 43% of Batman’s problems stem from repressed sexuality. Also Wolf is hot.

Why, thank you. I just wanted to have a tough guy who smiled on occasion lol.

Wolf is very popular :)

So I had a moment at the end of last week where I’d decided it was time to finally get something I had my eye on for a while and bought all available The Pride comics (check them out at thepridecomic and their associated website http://www.thepride.bigcartel.com/). The stories are really interesting, the concept is well thought out and I love how much the characters have been thought out. I really can’t wait to read more when they’re available!

Well guess what I treated myself to this week, only read issue one of The Pride (on comixology) so I thought why not have them physically, and that print by Kevin Wada is just gorgeous.

OH AWESOME! Don't think I even clicked it was you who bought it, but I am SO happy you did!

I hope you enjoy the rest of the comics too, and I hope it helps bring a smile to your face too. And find a nice place to stash that kevinwada print too, eh, philbo1424!

Thanks so much for the support, dude!

It can be really frustrating working on the comics sometimes.

There’s a large, vocal audience declaring how much they want to see more diversity in comics and more LGBTQ characters. I was one of them, even. And it’s why I made The Pride.

However, when an indie project comes out with just that, a lot of this audience don’t actually buy the product they’d been calling out for: because it’s not from Marvel or DC.

Fact is though, if an audience doesn’t prove a desire and market for such a product, they won’t be willing to take a risk on creating one of their own.

Obviously, I’m small press. I self-publish. I pay to get the comics made out of my own pocket. At the moment, there’s still around £5000 to pay artists for work and get the rest of the series printed when it comes to it. This isn’t even taking into account the cost of postage etc…it’s hard work, and takes up a lot of my time and money.

But it’s a labor of love, so I keep working at it. I wouldn’t change that for the world. But I do wish that I was able to pay the artists faster and could afford printing easier.

The Pride has 841 Likes on Facebook. If all of them bought just one copy of The Pride digital issues (at just £1.50), any issue, that would raise a massive chunk needed towards paying off the remaining artists! It would literally fund itself. I wouldn’t make any money myself, but I don’t care about that. This project is as much about building my profile and name as a writer than it is about getting rich…I will never get rich off The Pride, but I love doing it.

Likes are all well and good, honestly they are great and a massive help in their own right, but it doesn’t help me actually make the comics. And it’s frustrating to see this market, this audience, saying they want a product and then just…not.

Just felt like sharing that is all. In case anyone is considering making comics of their own. Obviously, I don’t want to scare anyone off: you wanna make comics, make comics. But be prepared for hard times and struggles, but if you work hard it could well all be worth it in the end.

And of course, if you do want to buy The Pride, you can do so here.

Seriously, people: walk the walk. Don’t just shout for more representation. Buy the damn comics.

I had no idea this existed, buying the digital copies right now.

Thank you so much!

That's the best way to keep The Pride going :) You're wonderful people, all of you :)

The Pride

I hope people are reading The Pride. I don’t post much, but this is such a great/fun book. Check it out. I really want to draw some of these guys ;)

Aw, that's really sweet of you to say! And absolutely, please do draw the characters!

Every Friday (or at least, every Friday I have some new ones to share) I like to do a Fan Art Friday on The Pride's Facebook page, so the fan's can share the art inspired by the Pride characters. Have some lovely stuff up there already in the galleries.

And if people would like to check out the comics, The Pride is available on Comixology, or even more issues available direct from our own store!

To celebrate 900 followers, I'm going to reveal this a little early.

The Pride is going to be releasing a series of extremely limited edition, highly collectible prints to help raise money for the continuation of the series, and create a nice art product for fans.

The first will be by Pride collaborator and amazing artist, Cory Smith (and colored by Ben Wilsonham). Cory (@csmithart) is the artist on Dynamite's Magnus: Robot Fighter, as well as Aspen's Legends of the Shadow Clan and many more! I've had the pleasure to work with him before and even meet him finally at NYCC last year, and he's an absolute legend.

This print is absolutely GORGEOUS, and you should all really get yourself one when they go on sale.

As I mentioned, they will be extremely limited edition, at just 100 copies. We're testing the water at first, I'll see how well it sells before seeing how that affects plans for the others.

And oh yes, there will be others. And the artists involved? Well, you may be able to guess the next one now, but needless to say, they are ALL incredible, superstar artists and this is gonna be huge!

Stay tuned for more info on the prints and to find out exactly when they go on sale, but it is now very soon.

And in the meantime, all you new followers who maybe haven't heard of The Pride, check the comic out on Comixology, or grab copies from my own store!

Oh hey, I went to sleep and now I've woken up having hit 900 followers!

Better than that, actually.

So I will soon post my celebration post, which will be telling you guys about an exciting, awesome, amazing thing coming from The Pride VERY SOON!

Another UPDATE: We've actually completely sold out of The Pride #1 print edition!

Kinda my fault, didn't realise how low my stock was, so I'll be getting a restock ASAP.
