Oh my good lord that was an awesome night out
I haven't been out on a night out like that in soooo long, and it was well needed.
And I don't generally think of going out with my work colleagues, but I am so glad I did.
I went to Metros, an underground rock and punk club, that I haven't really gone to since I was a lot younger, in my late teens and early twenties. The last time I went I was maybe 22, and it was just after the smoking ban was introduced in the UK, and the problem was Metros STANK. Like wet feet and puke, it was awful. And moreover, even at that young age, I felt like the oldest man there.
Last night, I discovered they'd finally done the place up and gave it a good clean, and it no longer stank. But it was the same old Metros. I probably really was the oldest man there this time (at the ripe old age of 29), but I didn't feel it. I just had tremendous and slightly nostalgic fun.
And of course, I followed up with a chilled morning walking around Cardiff, and filled myself (and cured my hangover) with a gorgeous, massive breakfast in the rather lovely and relaxed environs of Cosy Club, somewhere I'd been meaning to try for a while. I heartily recommend it.
Man, I need to do stuff like this more often.
