I get so pissed off when people make fun of like, "weird" youtube accts with like no views of people just sharing their lives. Idk maybe they're lonely and this is them reaching out to a world that generally doesn't acknowledge them! Be kind Jesus Christ
Esp since so many are only "weird" bc they're poor or disabled or neurodivergent or any number of things. Like god we're all lonely in some form or another I feel like the least you can do is not be so cruel to people who are trying to share something of themselves
Idk like people are so fucking vindictive about anything approaching social ineptitude or sincerity on the internet and once you combine both it's like blood in the water and like?? I don't understand why you wouldn't at the very very least allow pity to stay your hand? Like going beyond any better or nobler feeling of sympathy or understanding or treating the other person like an equal, in the absolute WORST case scenario shouldn't at least pity stop you from jumping down their throats? Shouldn't pity be the worst, most condescending possible emotion you feel at all? There's so much palpable glee in punching down, it drives me nuts

Love the contrast between the Americans’ “Apollo” and the Soviets’ “Sputnik.” You got the Americans naming their rocket after a Greek god trying to communicate the grandness and importance of this rocket. And you got the Soviets naming their rocket “fellow traveler.” Like a friend you go on an adventure with together. This rocket is our little friend lol
