Before we begin, Mimosa is the eldest of the three Silva sisters. Being 25 in this story as she plays angelica, Noelle is 22 and plays Eliza, while Nero is 20 and plays Peggy. Thought I would say so yall know who plays who.

——————-

In this world there’s nothing rich folk love more than going downtown and slummin’ it with the poor. They typically go in their carriages and gawk at the students in the common just to watch them talk. Take Arthur Silva, the man is loaded. But little does he know that his daughters. Nero, Mimosa, and Noelle like to sneak into the city to watch all the guys at work.

“Mimosa!” A girl, with black hair and brilliant red eyes called out to her sister. Who had long brown hair and beautiful yellow. “Noelle!” The black haired girl called out to her other sister, who had Silver hair and stunning purple eyes.

“Yes Nero?” Both girls turn their attention to their red eyed sister.

“Daddy said to be home before sundown.” Nero told her sisters as they walked further into town.

“Daddy doesn’t need to know.” Mimosa told Nero, it was no big deal. They knew how to take care of themselves, so Nero’s concerns weren’t necessary.

“But daddy said not to go downtown.” Nero said.

“Like I said Nero,” Noelle turned to her sister. “You’re free to go.”

Nero was going to retort if it weren’t for their eldest sister calling their attention.

“Look around you too, the revolution is happening in Clover.” Mimosa said stick. enthusiastically at the prospect of change happening.

“In clover?” Both girls asked, with Noelle being intrigued while Nero seemed worried.

“Yes, right here in our town.”

“It’s bad enough that daddy wants to go to war.” Nero said in frustration, both girls understood her frustration. They all cared for their father, and the thought of losing him hurt them. But they also knew he was strong, and had faith in him.

“Look, there’s people shouting in the square.” Noelle pointed to the town square where patriots were protesting against the king.

“It’s bad enough that there will be violence on our shores.” Nero added.

“But there will be new ideas in the air.” Mimosa looks forward to what this intellectual revolution could bring, especially for the women in the colonies. It could spell the start to a better era, and she was sure to help make sure women had a bigger say in the new era.

“Mimosa, remind me what we’re looking for?”

“She’s looking for me.” A couple of guys say to them, bit Mimosa brushes past them ignoring them completely.

“Noelle, I’m looking for a mind at work.” She tells her sister, just as another man approaches.

“Well, there’s nothing like summer in the city, wouldn’t you agree. Someone in a rush meeting someone looking pretty.” Gauche said, trying to impress Mimosa. “Excuse Miss Silva, I know this isn’t funny but your perfume smells like your daddy’s got money.”

Mimosa scoffed, she’s heard of Gauche Adlai before. A prodigy of Golden Dawn college, a smart man yes, but intelligent absolutely not. He’s too cautious, not willing to take necessary risks. Safe to say Gauche was not what she was looking for.

“Adlai, you disgust me.” Mimosa told him as she turned away.

“Ah, so you’ve discussed me? I’m a trust fund, baby. You can trust me.” He said in a smug tone, and Mimosa wouldn’t take it lying down.

“You know Adlai, I’ve been reading Common sense by Thomas Paine. Some men say I’m intense or even that I’m insane. You want a revolution? Well I want a revaluation. So listen to my declarations.” Mimosa told Adlai, as her sisters joined her.

“We hold these truths to be self-evident that all men are created equal.” The Silvas said, with Mimosa adding.

“And when I meet Rhya, I’m going to compel him to include women in the sequel.” Mimosa smiled, Gauche was left with nothing to say as he agreed with her sentiment. With a simple nod Gauche backed off and walked away.

“Look around you two,” Noelle told the two. “Look around at how lucky we are to be alive right now.”

Mimosa smiled at her sister's happiness.

“History is happening here in Clover, and we just happen in the greatest city in the world!” Noelle almost yelled in excitement at what’s to come.

As the three Silva sisters walked around downtown, folks nearby gathered around a man who supported the British. And four men stood there watching, the four of them being Asta and the rest of the gang, with Gauche coming soon.

And whatever the supporter had to say, Asta was ready to refute the farmer.

The entire day the four revolutionaries spent it all gathering support, most of it being Asta’s work. Now they were all gathered in the same pub from before, having some more drinks.

“Another round gentleman?” Zora asked, being the one who could drink the most.

As they all laughed together Asta seemed to be lost in thought, as he thought he decided to speak up.

“I may not live to see our glory.” Once Asta said that the other three men turned to him, all confused at first but soon understood what he meant.

“I may not live to see our glory.” They repeated, Asta smiled gently and continued.

“But I will gladly join the fight.” Asta said, Yuno, Zora, and Leopold repeating his words.

“And when our children tell our story, they’ll tell the story of tonight.” Asta smiled at his new friends.

Zora walked over and placed a hand on Asta’s shoulder, he smiled back at the ash blonde boy.

“Let’s have another round tonight.” Zora declared.

“Let’s have another round tonight!” Leopold declared being the most drunk.

As they laughed at Leo’s drunken antics Yuno stood up, he raised his glass up high and proclaimed.

“Raise a glass to freedom,” Yuno said, the three looked at him for a moment before smiling and doing the same. “Something they can never take away, no matter what they tell you,” Yuno smiled warmly. “Raise a glass to the four of us.”

“Tomorrow there’ll be more of us.” Zora and Yuno said in unison.

“They’ll tell the story of tonight.” Leo, Yuno, and Zora said together.

“They’ll tell the story of tonight.” Asta repeated, yet in a quieter tone.

And once again they repeated, “Raise a glass to freedom, something they can never take away.”

“No matter what they tell you.” Asta proclaimed, yet Yuno noticed that Asta shrunk away, wondering if Asta was thinking he was welcomed or that they didn’t think of him as their friend. To destroy any doubt Yuno walked towards Asta. He wrapped his arm around Asta, and Yuno placed his hand on his shoulder.

“Raise a glass to the four of us.” Yuno said to asta, giving the young man a warm and welcoming smile. One that Asta returned. “Tomorrow there’ll be more of us!” All four said in unison.

“They’ll tell the story of tonight.”

“Let’s have another round tonight.”

“They’ll tell the story of tonight.”

Merlin told Jack to close the window at night, since animals would enter in through the window. But did he listen? No, and it shows since now Jack and her were in the kitchen trying to get a bat out. Jack was trying to scare the bat without being attacked, meanwhile Merlin had a net to catch the flying mammal.

“Alright, I admit,” Jack throws one of his shoes at the bat to scare it. “This may be partly my fault.”

“partly?” Merlin scowled at him.

“Okay, all my fault.” He ducks. “But I can fix it.”

“Woah!” Merlin ducked down. “Please do!”

“Okay,” Merlin and him hide under the table. “Here’s the plan, I’ll try and grab it and once I do, I'll throw it out the window and you shut it.”

“Jack, is that really a smart plan?”

“Look, I’m desperate.”

“Fine, just don’t get bit, okay?”

“I’ll try, but if we're lucky I could become a vampire.” Jack joked, which made Merlin smile somewhat.

“But seriously, please don’t get bitten.”

“I won’t.”

Jack put his plan into motion, and lunged forward to catch the bat. The bat was quick and small so catching it was difficult, objects fell over, Jack hit his head a bit, and a plate was broken. ‘I should have expected this to happen.’ Merlin said in her head as she watched it all unfold. Jack then decided to jump off a chair, missing the bat and hit his head pretty hard.

“Jack!” Merlin hurriedly rushed to his side, as Jack held his head in pain.

“Ow, now that was my dumbest move yet.” Jack rubbed his head.

“You think? What if you hit your head harder, you could have seriously hurt yourself.” Merlin scolded him.

“Merlin, shh.” Jack shushed her.

“Don’t shush me, I can’t bear the thought of what could have happened…”

“Merlin, shh look.” Jack pointed to the table.

“What?” Merlin turned and saw the bat eating a mango piece. “It’s a fruit bat.”

“And it’s distracted.” Jack mentioned, and Merlin nodded her head in agreement.

Merlin carefully walked toward the table, net in hand. As she neared the table she raised the net, once she was close enough she dropped the net down on bat, catching it. While the bat was startled it was not harmed, Merlin gently and carefully grabbed the bat and made her way to the window. She unwrapped the bat from the net and let it fly off, after closing the window she made her way to the fridge and took an ice pack out.

“Here Jack.” She gave him the ice pack after she helped him up.

“Thank you merlin.” He placed the Ice pack against his head.

“So what did we learn?”

“To close the window at night.”

“Because?”

“Because, animals could get in.”

“Good,” She kissed his cheek. “Now please clean up this mess.”

“What-”

“You made it, now you clean it.” Merlin giggled at Jack's baffled face.

“What!? But I…That’s not!...fair enough.” Jack sighed in defeat.

“Love you Jackie.”

“Love you too Merl.”

These are just summaries to their characters, but they are more info to them. I’ll be developing them as the one shots go on, this will help me practice my writing more.

Enjoy!

Jack Harbor: A 24 year old Man of European descent, with red hair, and blue eyes, Standing at 6 feet tall. Though he gives off a cocky, over confident, and brash attitude, when you get to know him he’s just a guy playing an act, mainly because he likes messing with people. But in reality he’s a very level headed man, who can be skeptical at time, while also imaginative, and a bit mischievous. He also has a love for art and animation or any form of entertainment really. But despite that he has a severe inferiority complex, believing himself insignificant and unimportant at times, yet he pushes through thanks to the help of Merlin.

Merlin Benjamin: a 25 year old woman of Hispanic descent, with short brown hair that stops at her shoulders, and violet eyes, and standing at a height 5 feet and 8 inches. An intelligent, kind, hardworking, and respectable woman. Who is respected by all her peers, but is still level headed and humble. Yet she has a bad habit of overworking herself, fearing that she must meet the expectations of others. Something that has affected for most of her life, luckily just as Merlin helps Jack with his inferiority complex, Jack helps her to ensure she is meeting her needs such as water and food. He also tells her not to worry about what others think of her.

Now the story.

A Box.

A brown, medium size, taped shut box sat on Jack and Merlin’s coffee table.

“So…what’s in it?” Jack asked, he was curious as to what could be in the box.

“For the last time Jack, I don’t know, but my mother will be here to pick it up in an hour or two.” Merlin told her lover, as much as she loved him, his constant questioning was starting to get on her nerves.

“Must be something really important if she sent it here, right?”

“Jack.”

“Alright, I’ll stop pushing.”

“Good, now I have some paperwork to finish up.” Merlin got up to head to her office. “And Jack, whatever you do, don’t open the box.”

“Fine, fine, Alright” Jack just grabbed his sketch book and started to sketch.

While in her office, Merlin works on stacks of paperworks from her office for a good hour and a half. Until she finishes a majority of it, she decides it would be best for her to get a meal before she continues. And once she goes outside of her office and passes the living room, she immediately notices the absurd number of sketchbook papers sprawled on the coffee table. Looking closer she notices that all the sketches are somewhat wacky, insane, yet well drawn, as well as all share the box as their bases. It’s obvious that Jack’s curiosity started to affect his sketches, as he started to draw what he imagined was in the box.

Luckily the box was still unopened.

“Jack?” Merlin called out, not seeing the redhead anywhere in the living room. “Maybe he’s somewhere else in the house.”

As she made herself a light meal to eat she decided to eat in the living room, she moved the sketches and ate her meal. As she finished eating her eyes landed on the box, she was curious as well but she didn’t think of it. Though now looking at the humorous, silly, and somewhat charming drawings that Jack made, she couldn’t help but wonder more as to what was in the cardboard cube.

“Jack’s right, must be something truly important if my mother sent it here.” Merlin continued to look at the box, and now her curiosity was peaking. “Damn it, Merlin Don’t you dare touch the box”

Yet it was tempting to her now, she now too wanted to see what was in the box. Yet the reasonable side of her was telling her why not to open the box. And luckily she was able to resist temptation and leave the box.

“You almost opened the box too, huh?” Jack appeared, probably returning from his own office, since he now had a different sketch book with him.

“Yes, I guess I can’t escape my curiosity.” Merlin admitted.

“Hey, don’t sweat it, curiosity is normal.” He told her. “We’re human, it’s normal to be curious about things, though you’re better at controlling your curiosity then I ever could.”

“That’s not true, you can also control your curiosity well.”

“I still slip up though.” Jack opened the sketch book. “Even so, I don’t think having curiosity is a bad thing.”

“Of course not, it fuels our desire to learn more, it motivates us.” Merlin added. “But in this case we need to put our curiosity aside, luckily my mother should be her soon.”

As if on cue the doorbell rang.

“Hello mother, here is your package.” Merlin greeted her mom.

“Thank you very much dear, as well as you jack.” Merlin’s mother thanked the two.

“You don’t have to mention it ma’am, just glad to help.” Jack then looked at Merlin, as if looking for approval. And with a simple nod of Merlin’s head Jack asked. “If you don’t mind me asking, what’s in the box?.”

“Oh, just some fabrics I’ve been needing.”

“Is that all mom?” Merlin asked. “If so, why send them here?”

“It’s because where your father and I live there’s been porch pirates.”

“Oh, that’s why you sent it here.” Jack answered.

“Correct, I knew you two would keep it safe, so thank you once again.”

“Your welcome mother.”

“Your welcome ma’am.”

“Now take care you two.”

“You as well, mother.”

“Fabrics, didn’t see that coming.” Jack stated.

“Well my mother does like to sew, so it makes sense.”

“Well, wanna go watch a movie?”

“You read my mind.” Merlin smiled.

Well, I can’t believe this story is over. I’ve had so much fun writing it, and it saddens me to finally finish it. But I won’t say this is the last time I write, no far from it. I plan I writing original one shot stories of original characters, as well ad continue another fic I’ve started. But for now I just want to thank everyone who has read and supported this story, I truly am grateful for you all.

3 Years.

It’s been three years since the Zogratis incident took place in the lives of Gauche and Grey, or more so Gauche and Carli Greyson Adlai. After the events of the Zogratis the two’s relationship bloomed, and they entered a new era. Shown by Grey changing her name from Amara to Carli, and more importantly Gauche and her getting married. It was a relatively small ceremony with their friends and family attending. Vanessa anointed herself as Carli’s bridesmaid, and she somehow managed to convince Gauche to allow Zora to be his best man, much to both males' chagrin. Yet it was still Carli’s happiest day, especially with Yami walking her down the aisle. As for Gauche, he had to try hard not to get a nosebleed from how stunning Carli looked in her dress. To say he felt like he was the luckiest man alive was an understatement, words alone could not describe the joy he felt being able to marry the woman he loved. And their lives after their wedding only continued to grow for the better, they soon bought a home together and lived there together alongside Marie, who was ecstatic that Carli was now her sister. The three lived happily, though Gauche and Carli still kept their jobs as spies and continued going on missions. Due to their chemistry and relationship they were a great team. But If you had told Carli years ago she would be happily married to the man of her dreams, with a family she could call her own, she would have called you insane. But now, sitting in the living room watching Tv with her family, Zora and Nebra letting Marie show him all her drawings, while Vanessa and Finral hugged each other on the sofa, as well as Yami and Charlotte just enjoying the mood, And Gauche being her foundation, her light, her everything, and knowing she was everything to him.

Well.

She couldn’t have asked for anything more.

Chapter 24, the second to last chapter of the Greyche spy fic. To think I would write 24 whole chapters is mind blowing, but I’m glad I did, and I’m glad people genuinely liked my writing. It means the world to me, and I can’t thank you all enough. So please enjoy this chapter.

—————————————

The Zogratis tower, a tower filled with unimaginable terror, and Gauche was breaking in. As he found an air vent to sneak through he began his ascent, but since the building was nearly fifty or so stories high he needed to find an elevator quickly. Luckily for him, he just had to climb a couple floors before he found an empty room, jamming the security cameras he made his way to an elevator. Pressing the button for the tower’s suite he prepared himself for what’s to come, since all the guards and goons left with Zenon and Vanica it was practically just Dante and Grey. Or so he thought.

Dante and Grey were currently in the living room awaiting the news of what happened, yet neither of his siblings responded to his calls and the situation looked dire. Yet all the while Dante couldn’t shake the feeling that his Amara had something to do with it, how? He didn’t quite have an answer yet he couldn’t ignore the possibility. But for the moment he didn’t have much to worry about.

“Amara, dear mind fetching me a cup of coffee,” He asked, yet Amara felt more like a demand. “Waking up at such an early hour does quite affect one’s mind.”

“Y-Yes Dante.” Amara quickly gets up and quickly makes her way to the kitchen.

Dante noted that Amara had started acting less rebellious, which in his mind was a good thing. Soon everything will be just as it was once before, now if only his siblings would respond to his calls.

As he waited around for either one of his siblings to respond or for Amara to return with his coffee, he had a feeling that something was wrong, as if something was off, that there was something or someone here in the very building they lived in. It wasn’t Kira that’s for sure, he had been staying there with them since they rescued him, and though he was annoying he was also smart enough not to get in the Zogratis family’s way. So why did Dante feel as if someone was creeping around? To be sure he decided to ask the guards if anything seemed out of place, even then they told him everything was in order, yet he couldn’t shake the feeling. Soon Kira emerged from his room saying since they were awake he might as well be too, Dante watched as he made his way to the kitchen ‘he better not make any trouble for amara’ Dante thought, not being afraid to teach Kira a lesson if he does.

All of a sudden Dante feels as if he isn’t alone in the room, looking around he scans the area searching for the presence he felt. Yet nothing there, no one there, but he knew better so he took out a gun that was hidden in the room for an emergency.

“Whoever is there, show yourself if you value your life.” Dante called to whoever would be foolish enough to even think of breaking in. As he scanned the area Dante saw a moment at the corner of his eye, he turned and opened fire then looked but saw nothing but some furniture. “I know someone is here.”

Dante then heard a gun click behind him, he would have turned around but something told him if he did he would be a dead man.

“I would assume I know who you are?” Dante asked.

“You damn better.” The voice said, and Dante immediately could tell who it was.

“So it’s you, you’re that man who dared challenge me for my Amara.”

“Don’t you call her that name.” Gauche said in an aggressive tone.

“What do you care?”

“I care a whole damn lot, especially about her.”

“Well then you shouldn’t, she’s fine here, here she has everything you could ever want.”

“Cut the shit, I know very well what you monsters did to her.”

“It was a simple mistake.”

“Mistake!?” Gauche was now furious. “You call abusing her a mistake!?”

“I do regret it, I never meant to hurt my dear Amara.”

“You don’t sound like you regret it.”

“Well to each their own, so what are you going to do now? Shoot me?”

“Of course, once you’re gone Grey can finally live in peace.”

“You truly believe you can give her true happiness boy?”

“What do you mean?”

“I mean, do you think getting rid of us can ever truly free her? She’s too far gone now, just face it boy, the girl you know as Grey is gone and dead, now she is only Amara, she is only my wife.”

“You shut your goddamn mouth!” Gauche yells.

“What? It’s true, did she never tell you?” Dante asks, and Gauche doesn’t know what to say or think. “Her and I never got divorced, so by law she is a Zogratis.”

“You’re lying.”

“I am many things but a liar, now that’s not true.”

Being fueled by rage Gauche gets ready to pull the trigger, but then he hears someone click another gun.

“Throw the gun away or she gets it.” Kira held a gun to Amara’s head, who was terrified as tears rolled down her cheeks. “I will do it!”

Gauche was in shock, he nor anyone knew he was freed from prison, the Zogratis must have freed him and covered up the escape.

“THROW THE GUN AWAY!” Kira yelled, and Gauche had no other choice but to comply to save Grey’s life. He threw the gun close to Kira’s and Grey’s feet. “Good, good” Kira’s breathing became shaky as a crazed smile spread across his face. “H-Haha I could kill her right now, I could finally get revenge for how you two RUINED my life, and all it takes is a flex of my finger.”

“W-Wait don’t!” Grey pleated.

“Don’t do it!” Gauche said, and he wanted to rush to save her but he knew one wrong move and Grey would be dead.

“What’s stopping me?” He laughed. “I could do it now, in fact I might!”

“Wait!” Gauche yelled out as Grey shut her eyes accepting her fate.

Bang

The shot rang out throughout the room and yet Grey opened her eyes, not understanding what happened. She should have been dead, so then what happened? She looked at Gauche and saw his shocked expression, but it wasn’t towards her, it was towards behind her. She looked around now noticing she didn’t feel Kira’s grasp on her, and saw Kira dead on the ground with a bullet hole on his head. As soon as the realization hit of what just happened Grey stumbled to the floor, trying to get away from the body.

“What a shame Kira, you could have lived longer,” Dante said, being the one who shot him. “But you just don’t know when not to touch others' possessions.”

“Y-You’re a sick fuck.”

“I just did what any man would do, protect what’s mine.” Dante said as he pointed his gun towards Gauche. “Don’t pretend you wouldn’t have done the same.”

“Everything you say and do just makes you look more like a monster.”

“So what if I am? Doesn’t change that I am more powerful than you will ever be.” Dante then gets ready to fire. “Now, any last words son?”

“Grey, please I know you’re still there,” Gauche said to Amara. “You’re not Amara, no you’re Grey, the Grey who is strong, the Grey who isn’t afraid to fight for what she believes, the Grey who everyone can talk to, the Grey won’t let anyone walk over her, the Grey that I love.”

Those last words seemed to reawaken something dormant in her, the person she used to be. Not Amara, not the girl who lived with her stepmother and stepsisters, no Grey had reawakened, and with her the memories of everyone she loved came with. Vanessa and her going shopping, Zora and her talking about anything and everything that came to mind, the nights where Charlotte and Yami would comfort her, and the moments where she and Gauche spent together, while short, made her happy.

“Enough of you pointless babbling, this is goodbye you pest.” Dante went to pull the trigger.

Bang

Just like before the shot rang out, and just like before the person holding the gun was shot. Dante stumbled down having been shot, both he and Gauche looked to see Grey holding the gun Gauche had thrown to the ground. And as she got up the situation started falling on Dante.

“A-Amara?” Dante said in a weak voice.

“I’m not Amara! That’s not my name anymore, and I am not your wife anymore.” Grey said.

“What are you saying?”

“I’m no longer going to be afraid of you, it’s time I move on, and learn to live my own life, with the people I choose to love. And you, you aren’t one of them.”

“Y-You little.”

“This is goodbye Dante, this is goodbye to Amara. And this is Hello to Grey.” Grey pulled the trigger and shot Dante dead, it was freeing to her. The man, the family that had caused her so much pain was gone. She felt like a chain was off her wrist, and noose was no longer around her throat. She turned to Gauche and smiled at him, tears rolling down her cheek.

“I love you too Gauche.” She said as she went to him, she wrapped her arms around him and wept, but not tears of sadness but tears of joy.

“It’s over Grey, it’s finally over.”

After a few they made their way down the building, and once at the bottom they found Yami, Vanessa, and the others having already rounded up the last of the Zogratis family’s goons.

“Yami, Vanessa.” Grey called out.

“Grey!” Both called out as they went to her, Vanessa throwing herself on the blue haired woman.

“I’m so happy you’re okay, don’t ever leave us again!”

“I promise I won’t Vanessa, never again.” Both women broke down in tears, and Gauche and Yami couldn’t help but also break down and cry.

“Kid, you don’t know how much of a headache you caused me.” Yami said as he continued to break down.

“I missed you two.” Grey hugged Yami, as both of them continued to cry.

Soon after everything was settled, and everyone was given proper medical attention, they all got on their way back home.

“Need a lift?” Finral pulled up the car, having been given medical attention for the bullet he took.

“We would love that, thank you finral.” Grey thanked him.

“Anything for you Grey.”

Vanessa, Grey, and Gauche got in the car, with Vanessa in the front chatting with Finral, and Grey and Gauche in the back. Both of which were holding hands with each other.

“How do you feel, Grey?” Gauche asked gently.

“I feel…rejuvenated, if that makes any sense?” Grey responded just as gently.

“That makes me happy to hear.”

“Yeah, although I know it will take me much longer to fully heal.” Grey squeezed his hand a bit.

“That’s true, but you have us to help you.” Gauche used his thumb to rub her hand gently.

“That makes me happy, thank you.”

“Don’t thank me.”

“Then let me give you this.” Grey leaned over to Gauche and gave him a quick peck on the cheek.

Gauche blushed but he only smiled warmly.

“Thank you, Grey.”

“You’re welcome, love.”

Sorry this one took me a bit longer to post, Burn out has been really getting to me. But I promise to continue writing since we are nearing the end of this fic.

————————————————-

Raiding the base and freeing all the victims was the easy part, the hard part would be fighting the behemoth that was Zenon. Yami was no stranger to what that man was capable of, an unfeeling, cold hearted, soulless husk of a man. One who had no problem killing if it meant getting things done quickly. So as he watched the trucks drive closer he had to prepare himself for a war, and as he got ready he told Luck and Manga to drive all the innocent people freed to safety.

“Here they come.” Charlotte said, she grabbed her sub-machine gun and loaded it.

“You know how long I’ve been waiting for this?” Jack cackled. “Whoo! I’m about to make a name for myself yea.”

“I don’t think you walk away from this.” Dorothy said as she prepared for the coming battle.

“You just let people know what happened here today.” He smirked. “When y’all get out of here, have a drink for me.”

“God, you’re an idiot.” Charlotte sighed.

Seven black armored trucks pulled up being led by a black car, stepping out of it was Zenon Zogratis himself. Zenon had a blank face, no emotion, nothing.

“He’s just as dead looking as they say he is.” Dorothy commented as she prepared her nerves.

“What motivates you to attack our warehouse?” Zenon said in a monotone voice.

“A lot of things,” Yami said, now staring down at one of his daughter's abusers. “First, freeing all these victims from your family, second ruining your entire filthy empire, and finally, getting back at you for hurting my daughter.”

“Oh, this is about Amara?” Zenon just blandly asked. “Very well then, let’s get this over with.” He simply waved his arm and all his men raised their weapons.

“Now Nacht!” Yami yelled out, and Nacht hidden in the shadows fired.

All of a sudden one of the trucks seemingly blew up, taking out several of Zenon’s men. Zenon shocked turn the face them, Yami simply smirked at the priceless expression on the emotionless man’s face.

“You didn’t think we wouldn’t have a plan did you?” Yami waved his hand and fire reigned from different angles. “We would never fight you head on.”

Zenon and his men took cover and opened fire as well, all the while Yami and his gang fought back. Bullets flew, bodies fell, and yet Zenon continued to stand. Yami knew if they took out Zenon all his men would soon follow, but how would he take him out when he was surrounded by heavily armed soldiers. Yami turned his head to dodge a speeding bullet and once he did his eyes landed upon the still burning warehouse they had set to after evacuating it, then it hit him, he knew how to get to Zenon, it was risky but it was one he needed to take.

“Charlotte, I need you guys to cover me!” Yami yelled out.

“What are you planning Yami!?” Charlotte called out, concerned at how he would answer.

“Something stupid.” Yami answered, and before Charlotte could say anything Yami was off.

Zenon in the midst of the chaos saw Yami go off into the burning warehouse, he knew that Yami was the mastermind behind the whole stunt, he knew Yami and his gang were the ones responsible for hijacking his trades, and freeing the Zogratis family’s merchandise. Both non living and living in his mind, so now against his better judgment he went and followed the man into the fiery inferno.

“Didn’t think you’d actually follow me in here,” Yami turned to look at the Zogratis man. “I thought I’d have to trick ya, but I guess I was wrong.”

“Save your pointless banter, I simply wish to end this pointless squabble.”

“Such big words for such a cowardly human being, a real embarrassment to the human race.”

“Like you’re any better than me, we’ve both committed sins in our lifetimes.”

“Yeah we have, but at least mine were for people I care about, and not just for my own gain.” Yami spat at Zenon with poison.

“I do what I need to do to survive.”

“Right, by taking away the freedom of others.”

“Please, they never had freedom to begin with.”

“You sick fuck!”

“Tell me, do you do this for someone? Are you seeking revenge for someone we’ve taken?”

“What do you think?”

“Let’s see,” Zenon slowly reaches for his pistol. “Seeing as we recently retrieved Amara, It would be safe to assume you are attacking us for her. But you know if my brother went to retrieve her then he would never take her here, unless she told you about her past. And in that case…” Quickly both men drew their firearms and shot a bullet, with Yami barely dodging the bullet and missing his shot. “This is merely a distraction, let me guess you have one of your men sneaking in now don’t you, and you have my sister occupied that being the reason she isn’t here, isn’t it?”

“Heh, you’re just as smart as they say you are.” Yami told the man.

“Someone has to be the strategist.”

“Well for all your smarts you sure couldn’t tell I was leading you into a trap.”

“What trap? leading me into a burning building with no back up?”

“No,” Yami chuckled. “By not sending a group to find my guy who blew up your truck and not looking behind you.”

Zenon then heard a gun click and quickly turned only to feel a pain in his chest, now looking up he is met with the face of Nacht.

“Guess we shocked you real bad with the explosion you didn’t have time to send someone to catch me.” Nacht told the incapacitated Zogratis on the ground currently bleeding out.

“Took you long enough.”

“Clam it, I saved you.”

“H-How?”

“It’s simple, ain’t it?” Yami reloaded his gun and Nacht did the same, as well as kicking Zenon’s away. “Nacht saw me leading you in and followed behind.”

“In battle you always have to keep your eyes on all the players.” Nacht said.

“Now, got something else to say Zenon .”

“W-Whatever y-you’re doing, w-who-e-ever is sneaking in w-will never defeat Dante.”

“We’ll see about that.”

“W-whatever you think she is, w-whoever you think she is, just k-know she will never go b-back to you.”

“…tell that to satan…you sick bastard.”

BANG

“Yami?”

“I’m okay…”

“…okay…”

“Come on, the others will need our help to defeat the last of the goons.”

As the men walked away from the now corpse of the Zogratis the flames grew larger soon consuming the corpse, the flames consumed the warehouse once used for such a deplorable act. Now setting the motion for the collapse of the Zogratis’ kingdom, the general dead, the strategist dead, and all that stands in the way.

Is the king of darkness himself.

Chapter 22! It’s a fight chapter, i hope you guys enjoy this as much as i enjoyed writing it!

Tw! Depictions of violence, and death.

—————————————————————

The Zogratis building is a large building, nearly 40 stories high, and even more stories below. It was a labyrinth, a death trap, built for unimaginable horrors. Any sane person would try to escape from it, but today some crazy people were going to break in. They were a mere hour away from the building, and while the plan on paper sounded easy, they would stall for time as Gauche sneaked in. In reality it was nearly impossible as the building was in a populated city, meaning there would be innocent civilians there, the Zogratis wouldn’t think twice of attacking them with people around, since they just saw them as collateral damage, but they wanted to shed no blood as needed. That being said it wasn’t going to be easy, they would have to be careful. And through their careful planning they found out the Zogratis have a warehouse out north in the isolated forest, and to no one’s surprise it was filled with innocent victims of human trafficking. The thought makes Vanessa blood boil, before she joined the black bulls she would have been a victim herself, but was saved by Yami and Grey. So she had a reason to want to abolish it, but once the truth of Grey’s past revealed her hatred for the practice grew tenfold. Now the plan was that Yami and the others would go and raid the warehouse, freeing the victims, hopefully drawing out Zenon and the others. But they would stop Vanica from leaving due to her being the commander, no commander, no organization. It would be Finral, Iris, and Vanessa’s job to defeat her. And so the put their plan into action, miles aways Yami and the others began the raid, ensuring that the Zogratis got the distress signal, They watched as truck after truck left the building, and once they saw Vanica Iris hit the petal and rammed her car into Vanica’s. Now being pushed into the parking lot Vanica was forced to free herself from the car and Face her attackers.

“Well, well, what do we have here?” Vanice asks in a chilling tone. “Don’t think I’ve ever met you guys before”

Vanica looked at what she was facing, a Platinum blonde bitch, some brown hair coward, and a pink haired toy. Vanessa felt the Red eyed demon eyes roam her body, as if eyeing up her prey.

“Oooo, you look like you’ll give me the most fun” Vanica giggled maniacally.

“Psychotic Bitch” Iris spat.

“You’ll pay for torturing Grey.” Vanessa told Vanica with poison in her voice.

“Grey?” Vanica said the name a couple times to herself as she spun her gun around a bit. “Grey, Grey, Oh! You must mean Amara, Oh! You’re here for her huh?”

“Don’t call her that!” Vanessa was fuming. “Her name is Grey.”

“How cute, you think she’s yours” Vanica smiled.

“No,” Vanessa grabbed the handle of her pistol. “She’s not ours, nor yours, she is her own person, she is free, she will soon be free. From the likes of you!” In a quick draw both her and Vanica drew their weapons and open fire, and soon a gun fight broke out with Finral and Iris soon joining in with their own firearms. Bullet flew, holes were made, and smoke rose. It was no longer a parking lot but now a battlefield, where only the strong will survive. And Vanica was sure it was going to be her, she had unlimited firearms and ammo, meanwhile the trio was very limited.

“God dammit!” Vanessa yells as a bullet pierces her shoulder, she holds it trying to stop the bleeding.

“If we don’t defeat her soon we’ll be out of ammo!” Finral was right, they could only go for so long.

“I have a plan!” Iris said as she used a broken car mirror to see where Vanica was. “But I’m going to need you guys to cover me.”

“What are you planning?” Finral had asked as he reloaded his gun.

“Something crazy.”

“We’ll cover you, now go!” Vanessa yelled, as Vanica had pulled out a machine.

Iris made her way to the car as Vanessa and Finral fought off Vanica, while also narrowly dodging bullets.

“Why do you care so much about Amara?” Vanica asked as she stopped firing for a moment. “You really shouldn’t worry, here she has a roof over her head, food, a bed, she has everything, she’s safe.”

“Like hell she is, as long as you’re with her or any of your family for that fact she will never be safe.” Vanessa spat.

“Why is that now?” Vanica had loaded her revolver and was ready to kill. “We saved her, fed her, she is part of our family.”

“She’ll never be part of your perverted family!” Vanessa yelled unknowingly, giving Finral and her position away.

“Vanessa get down-“ Finral was cut off by a bullet piercing his chest.

“FINRAL!” Vanessa quickly went to him.

“Aww I missed his vital organ, he’s gonna die a slow death now.” Vanica said in utter disappointment at her sloppy work.

“You bitch,” Vanessa started tearing up, holding Finral closer. “YOU BITCH!”

“Mhm, or I could kill two birds with one stone.” She pointed her revolver at the two and getting ready to fire, until she heard a car horn. As the three looked to see what it was, Vanica was hit with a car driven by Iris, she slammed Vanica against a wall as she slammed down on the acceleration.

“AAHHH” Vanica screamed out in pain as she was forcefully pressed against the wall with the car, her abdomen getting crushed. Soon Iris stopped as she believed the job was done, but to her surprise Vanica was still alive and now pointing her revolver at Iris.

“Y-you bitch, I-I’ll kill you!” Vanica raised to pull the trigger but was stopped by a bullet hitting her hand. “Ah!”

“You lose,” Vanessa said, holding her pistol at Vanica. “Sorry but I believe we will be freeing our friend.”

“H-Hahaha!” Vanica laughs. “You really think she’ll just go with you? Face the facts, you lost her, so just go and die-“

Vanessa shot Vanica, killing her in anger.

“No, we haven’t, she still wants freedom. I know it.”

“Fuck, I call for some medics, he needs help” Iris said as she manage to get out of the car.

“Yeah, we have to get Finral medical attention” Vanessa said, looking at the corpse of one of Grey’s abusers. ‘Please, don’t let it be too late to save her’ she thought, before going to Finral. “Hey”

“H-Hey beautiful” Finral chuckled.

“Sorry for getting you shot.”

“Don’t worry about it, it’s for Grey, I’ll take a bullet for any of my friends, especially you.”

“Save those sweet words,” Vanessa kissed him gently. “Right now we need to get you help, I don’t want to lose you too”

“You won’t lose me, and you won’t lose her”

“I hope so”

Chapter 21! So this is a shorter chapter because it is setting up for three longer chapters and im pretty sure this chapter is marking our arrival to the end of this fic

———————————

The wound still hurt but Gauche decided to power through because now Yami called Vanessa, Henry, And him, alongside Nero, Gordon, Magna, Luck, Finral, Charmy, hell even Nacht showed up, and he never showed up for anything before. They were all worried sick about Grey and they all wanted to save her as much as he did. And this was their chance, thirteen hours that’s how long it’s been since they lost her, but no longer they were planning on attacking the Zogratis head on and save their beloved. But it will be hard, they knew that. Yet they didn’t care.

“Alright listen up, I know how everyone feels right now.” Yami sighed. “But that doesn’t mean we’ll just roll over” he told them as he started raising his voice. “Will we just let them have Grey?”

No

“Are we just going to stay put?”

No

“Are we just going to leave her behind?”

“No!” Gauche yelled out.

“Exactly, We are a family and if one of us is in trouble we help them.” Yami told them all. “God knows if we’ll actually succeed, but I know we are all willing to die trying then just walking away.”

The room got tense.

“So, if you decide not to go we’ll understand, I don’t want to force any of you to risk your life.” Yami reassured them, wanting to give them a choice. “So if you don’t want to go just say, but if you’re with us please stand.”

Gauche was the first to stand.

Quickly followed by Vanessa.

Then Gordon.

Then Nero.

Then Finral.

Luck.

Magna.

Henry.

Charmy.

Even Nacht.

Yami Smiled, he knew they had made up their minds once they heard the news.

“Good, now listen up.” He took a drag of his cigarette. “Here’s the plan.”

They listened as Yami explained the plan to them. It was simple: Yami, the Black bulls, and the other Bosses would be the diversion stealing the Zogratis’ attention that way Gauche could sneak in and rescue Grey. Again Simple on paper but they all knew it would be no cake walk, The Zogratis had the fire power, the men, and the resources. So Gauche had to be quick and get to her before they crumbled, but they also had to be careful due to Vanica being the main commander of the Zogratis army, and they knew what a wild card she was. So for that they decided to assign different people to each Zogratis sibling. Vanessa volunteered Finral, and herself to fight Vanica (much to Finral’s dismay) And Iris barged in saying she volunteered too, Yami said that he and the other bosses will handle Zenon. And as for Dante, Gauche said he would handle him.

“Gauche, you know if you face him he won’t let you live this time around.?” Yami asked Gauche.

“I know, but I also don’t plan on letting him live.”

Yami looked Gauche in the eyes, and he saw a man, a man in love, wanting, yearning to save his beloved. Yami gave Gauche a nod knowing he was determined, and they need that determination.

“Okay, then operation: Save the cinderella, is a go.”

Everyone was ready.

Everyone wanted to save her.

They wanted to save Grey.

Chapter 20, I literally love this chapter cuz I took such a different direction I wasn’t expecting. I hope you guys enjoy this one

—————————

Hour one

As soon as we got into the truck Dante immediately wrapped his arm around me, he grabbed my left arm in a way that seemed innocent, but in reality he was gripping my arm so hard I was sure it would leave bruises. He told me things such as “I’ve missed you Amara.” And “you’ll be so happy once we arrive home.” But I doubt that, I truly do.

Hour two

We were halfway to the Zogratis estate, there I knew I would have no chance of ever escaping again. But in the end I guess this truly is the best outcome for everyone. They no longer have to deal with her nuisances and could live normal lives. Sure she would be leaving Zora, Vanessa, Yami…Gauche. No, they’re better off without her in their lives. Yes, truly this was the best outcome.

Hour three

We were now reaching the Zogratis estate, and all the memories of the years living there started re-entering in Grey’s head. The years of abuse, mistreatment, and a fate worse than death started reappearing. But she knew this and willingly went anyway, so she deserves this.

Right?

Hour four

Dante had ushered, or more so shoved her into the building and into the elevator, where they started heading to the very top. Once there she saw the same penthouse suite just as she remembered it, but it had a terrifying air to it. And now it was the complete opposite to when Grey first stepped into the suite, and by some almost cruel fate the same musical that played her first day there played once again.

‘I thought this time was different’

‘Why did I think he’d be different?’

‘but it’s NEVER’

‘EVER’

‘Different’

Six, heh what a cruel world indeed.

Hour five

After a shower that I somehow enjoyed, I was given the Zogratis trademark clothes, all black clothing. Once I, begrudgingly, exited the room I was greeted by Zenon, Dante, and Kira having a meeting in the living room. I was sure Kira was arrested once we leaked all his crimes, but here he was sitting at a table eating the most expensive food money could offer as if he wasn’t the reason thousands of women, men, and children fear for their lives in horrid smelling cages. But I wasn’t the only one upset to see a person, for when he saw me he threw a fit. Cursing me and threatening my life, only to be shut down by Dante. Not that it mattered, for anything Kira planned on doing Dante would do something hundred times worse.

Hour Six

I sat at the dinner table, it was terrifying not only because I didn’t know what they put into the food but also because Vanica had arrived. She was covered in bandages from the crash she had, and was giving off the feeling of blood lust, I swear I could see her playing with her knife while staring directly at me. Yet she couldn’t do anything without her brothers’ permission, and for some strange reason they seem to be calm, though Dante still gave off some feeling of resentment while Zenon just felt empty. I stared at the piece of steak with some vegetables on the side, I decided it would be best to eat as I didn’t know what would come and rather at least face it with a full stomach. But that didn’t make eating it any more easier.

Hour seven

We were all sitting in the living room and the air felt tense, like one wrong movement would set something off and I felt like I was the trigger. It was mortifying really, the fact that I didn’t know what they were planning and that I was at their mercy. But this is what I get for causing so much trouble to my friends, I’m sure they’re better off without me.

Hour eight

I have gotten any sleep yet, and morning is already arriving. Yet I don’t want to sleep or even got to bed at all, I fear what will happen if I enter that room, I fear what will happen if I close my eyes. Will I wake up in that same cage all those years ago? Will I wake up chained to my bed? Will I wake up and find myself being dissected by Vanica? My mind ran wild as those thoughts began to plague my brain, truly I could never find peace even in sleep.

Hour nine

The sleep deprivation is really getting to me and it shows, I’ve started dozing off, my muscles have been feeling weaker, I’m yawning more, and I’ve started seeing things. Things like Vanessa and I going out to go shopping, Zora and I going to Broadway to see a musical, Yami taking me to a park to enjoy the scenery, and Gauche…And Gauche…I closed my eyes as tears threatened to spill. He’s better off without me, he’ll forget me, he’ll find someone else, a better girl, that he’ll fall in love with instead, marry, have kids with….fuck I was making myself feel worse. That thought of that just made me fall deeper in despair, as I closed my eyes tighter I felt sleep take me.

Hour ten

I barely could move a muscle as I only slept for an hour, yet I still managed to get up. I woke up in my room or where I’ll be staying for the rest of my life. I didn’t know how I got into my room, but I did know that I may not want to question it. I checked my body to make sure everything seemed right, which it was. I looked outside a lo and behold it was morning, precisely 9 Am. The day had officially started, god knows what awaited me today.

Hour eleven

Staring out the window seemed to be my only sense of freedom, just peering out at the open world was my only escape from the hell I willingly threw myself into. I knew this would happen so I should just take it, no complaining, no getting upset…no more freedom. I immediately closed the blinds of the window.

Hour twelve

Just power through

Just power through

Just power through

Just power through

Just power through

Just power through

Just power through

Just power through

Just power through

Please Amara…just power through.

Hour thirteen

Who am I again?

……

…..

….

Oh right, I am

….

…..

……

Amara greyson

What does it mean to be seen?

I have asked myself this very question for so long

For I have had the want, the need to be seen

For my entire life as far as I can remember, I have always seeked others approval

whether that be friends, teachers, even my own family

For my greatest fear that plagues me to this day

Is being forgotten

Not just on the internet

But by my friends

My family

My loved ones

I have always have had this fear

For I have felt and still feel like nothing I do has meaning

Unless of course someone tells me it does

Why?

I believe it is because my family always rewarded me for doing good

Whether that be academics

Or mannerisms

And because of that I have grown with the mentality of ‘if no one tells me I’ve done good then I didn’t’

And that is a terrible mentality to live with

For because of it I will never live in satisfaction with my own actions

And for that I tell you

Don’t let your worth be given to you by others

Don’t let your own satisfaction for something you did be someone else’s

For you can be proud of it yourself, with no one telling you otherwise

That is a lesson I myself must still learn

But it’s hard

And it’s not easy

But I need to try

Because if I don’t

I’ll never find peace

“Like hell we are” Yami said to his comrades, he was trying to convince them to storm the Zogratis base to retrieve his daughter, his squad member. Yet they denied his plan.

“Yami, we can’t just barge in.” Charlotte told him. “I understand what you’re feeling but you have to think this through.”

“If you understand what I’m feeling then you know I can’t just sit here and wait, god knows what he’s doing to her right now.” Yami was truly terrified at the horrors they must be putting Grey through.

“But it would be suicide to just storm in.” Jack said.

“Not to mention they would have us outnumbered, assuming they’d expect a counter attack.” Dorothy added.

“Then let’s get better weapons and-“

“Yami please, you need to calm down and think thing through-“

“I am!” Yami screams, then he stops. He realized his actions. “Sorry, it’s just…I need to save her.”

The room fell silent, they knew what Grey meant to him. And they truly felt the same, they’ve known Grey from the moment Yami first brought her to the base, they’ve bonded with her, grown closer to her, helped her. Charlotte still remembers the day Yami brought her, she remembers tending to her wounds.

“I-I’m sorry,” Grey said.

“For what?” Charlotte had already disinfected and bandaged her wounds, whatever she had been through it wasn’t pretty.

“For causing all this trouble, I should have…I shouldn’t have been-“

“Don’t say what I think you’re going to say.” Charlotte could tell immediately what this girl has been through, for she’s seen it from her two apprentices, oftentimes they mask their traumas with tough exteriors. Yet Charlotte remembers the countless nights she has held them in her arms as they wept, and she feels she may have another one to hold. But it’s not like she hates it, these girls need someone to care for them, to let them know they matter, but it’s not only them for she knows everyone is in need of someone to trust. But sadly many times they are hurt for that need and it ends up causing an endless cycle of isolation and want, no, a need to reach for someone, to find someone. “No one should have to feel that way, I may not know what has happened to you, and you may never trust me enough to tell me but, sometimes the best thing you can do is…find someone to trust.”

“B-but…last time I did that, I-“

“I know, but…that doesn’t mean you have to stop letting people in.”

“Why…why are you people helping…me?”

“Why?” Charlotte smiles gently and warmly. “Because you need help, and it would be wrong to leave you to fend for yourself.”

Charlotte saw the girl’s eyes start watering, her heart broke at the very sight and as if her motherly instinct kicked in she wrapped her arms around the blue haired girl and held her as she wept. Charlotte vowed that day to always protect this girl.

Yet now she felt as if she had broken that vow, not only was her daughter most cherished friend gone but now she was back to the place that had damaged her. And she wasn’t alone in this sentiment both Jack and Dorothy had grown close to Grey. Jack being the cool uncle to Grey and Dorothy being the loving aunt that always loved teasing her, so they as well felt as if they had failed. Grey meant the world to them and with her gone it tore them to shreds.

“We know Yami,” Charlotte took his hand. “That’s why we’ll save her, together” She and the others were ready to lay down their lives for Grey, but they needed to plan their strike properly.

“We’ll get her back, we need to plan and prepare before we go in” Jack said. “Plus weapons, but leave that to me kehehehe”

“I’ll have my guys come up with a battle strategy.” Dorothy said with a yawn, though she was the most motivated.

“Then me and Yami will handle the manpower,” Charlotte said as she turned. “Though it may take us a day to fully prepare, we need to plan and organize first, and attack second.”

“Okay…just…”

“We’ll get her back, I promise you”

“We better, because I’d rather die than have her suffer.”

“That makes two of us”

‘Grey, just hold on kid, we’re coming for you’

Sorry this was late, been busy with work which has been draining, and I believe it shows. Original this was supposed to be a longer chapter but I decided to split it up, due to not having as much time to write. But i hope you guys enjoy nonetheless. Sorry if this chapter is mid.

——————————-

“I’m sorry…but this is goodbye.”

“Grey…please come back”

Gauche woke up with a migraine that felt he was beaten over the head with a metal club, not to mention the sharp pain in his abdomen. As he slowly got up he realized a couple different things, one they weren’t in their base they were somewhere completely different, two he had bandages over where the sharp pain was, and three Grey was gone. The memory of the day before suddenly hit him and he remembered why he was where he was, how he was, and where Grey was. Gauche tried to get up and out of bed but was stopped by an Iv drip connected to his wrist, one of the things that kept him alive.

“Well look who’s finally up.” A feminine voice caught Gauche by surprise. “You know you shouldn’t get up, they rocked your shit.”

It was Iris Nebula.

“Nebula.” Gauche said, he and her didn’t have the best relationship.

“Adlai.” She responded. “I was tasked to watcha in case you did something dumb.”

“If I’m seeing you here that means”

“You’re in Charlotte's home base, correct genius.”

“How long was I out?”

“Your ass has been out for thirteen hours.”

“Thirteen!?”

“Yeah, a one and a three, dumbass.”

“Fucking hell.” Gauche tried to get up immediately, but he was soon pushed down to the bed roughly.

“Yeah, I don’t think so buddy.” She held a sword to his chest. “Again I was given orders so make sure you didn’t do anything dumb.”

“You’re threatening me with a blade to make me sit down and heal?” He asked annoyed.

“Works, doesn’t it?”

“Fuck off.”

“Again, they rocked your shit, and you need rest.”

“I don’t need rest, what I need is to.”

“Get your bitch back, yeah yeah you were wailing moaning about her all night.”

“Don’t you dare call Grey a bitch” Gauche snapped at the word used to describe his lover friend.

“Call down man, just take a moment to regain your strength.” Iris huffed out. “Once you do I’ll take ya to the rest of your squad, well the ones that were with ya last”

“I’m fine now.” Once again gauche tried to stand up but was held at sword point.

“Give yourself some time, the bullet pierced your intestine and kidney, you’re lucky cuz the doc said it’ll heal.”

“God dammit.” He reluctantly laid back down. “What’s the news?”

“How honest do you want me to be?”

“Does it matter?”

“Right,” Iris exhaled before beginning. “First things first, your base is completely leveled, ain’t no fixing it.”

“I would expect so, seeing as we were ambushed with explosives.”

“Yeah, second, all your other members won’t be able to get here, but just know they’re safe.”

“I guess that’s good.”

“Heartless much? And lastly your boss is currently in a meeting with Char, Dorothy, and the Fucker Jack.”

“Wait, they’re here?”

“Yep, and if I’m correct they’re talking about their next move. Though the three of them ain’t on board with what your boss wants to do.”

“What do you mean?”

“Well obviously he wants to do something, he wants to storm the Zogratis family’s base.”

Gauche just stared at the wall, yet inside a fury was building up inside him. He didn’t care if he was wounded, he didn’t care that the Zogratis family practically had an army on their side, all he cared about was getting Grey back. Even if it meant giving up his life for her freedom, to him it was a risk worth taking.

“Oh, watch out, a big guy is gonna save his women.”

“Will you just shut the hell up for one second?”

“I could, but something tells me ya need someone to talk to.”

“And why would that be?”

“Well, first things first I know when someone is planning on doing something dumb.”

“I wonder how,” Gauche said sarcastically.

“Haha, anyways, and I know you wanna go there guns ablazing and save the day.”

“There’s a but coming isn’t there”

“Yep, but that’s dumb, and you’re dumb for thinking that.”

“Well, what else do you expect me to do?”

“I don’t know, but what I do know is that you have your own strengths”

“So?”

“So use them to your advantage,”

“What?”

“You heard me, like my fighting skills are shit but I like fighting, but I’m crazy good at driving.” She smiled to herself. “So I fight with the car, it’s just my way of helping out.”

“Well,” He stopped to think for a bit. “I think I know how to help with my skills.”

“Good, cuz I think we’ll need them if we do storm their base.”

“If we do, I’ll be ready.” He looked out the window that was next to him. ‘Grey, I’m coming to save you’

Chapter 17, finally an actual chapter, sorry for the wait guys but it’s finally here. Enjoy

——————————————————————————-

“What the hell was that!?” Gauche asked, the sudden explosion caught them off guard.

“N-No it couldn’t be,” Grey looked outside terrified, outside were armored vehicles with all too familiar crests on them. The crest of the Zogratis family. “He found me.”

This was Grey’s worst nightmare, she thought she had more time, she thought she could hide in ignorant bliss just a bit more, she thought she could be free just a bit longer. But like most good things they must all come to and end.

Grey, at this point, had been overwhelmed by emotions, fear, terror, and grief. She knew what this meant for her and could do nothing but break down into tears as her world crumbled around her.

“Grey!?” Gauche saw her start to break down, and as she almost fell to the floor due to her legs giving out, he caught her. “Hey, stay with me okay, we can get out of here and-“

“N-No!” Grey screamed out. “It’s over, we’re all dead!”

“Don’t say that,” Gauche told her. “Don’t fucking say that, we can still win this.”

“How!?” She screamed to his face, the first time she had ever screamed at someone in her life. “By fighting an unwinnable fight!? It’s suicide!”

Gauche stared at her in shock, all reminisce of Grey was gone and was replaced by Amara Greyson. The same girl who was abused and imprisoned all those years ago, her eyes filled with fear, fear of what her punishment would be if her abuser gets his hands on her. But Gauche would rather die than let that happen to Grey, to his Grey.

“No, we will win, we just got to-” He was caught off as another explosion hit the building. “Fuck, we need to go, Now!”

Him and Grey started running through the building as more explosions went off, at this point only a couple people were in the building. In fact only Yami, Gauche, Vanessa, Henry, and Grey were there, the rest had either left to go home or on missions. So they knew they were outnumbered, but they were a small enough group to escape. So as they arrived at the main lobby they met up with the others.

“I’ve already sent a message to the others not to return.” Yami told them as he did a head count.

“How the hell did they find the place?” Gauche asked, as he went to a chest taking out some firearms.

“Vanica must have bugged your car when you guys were at the restaurant.” Yami said, he then turned to henry. “Open an escape route Henry.”

“On….it….sir.” Henry went to one of the walls and pushed down on one of the brinks, it opened up to reveal a passage that led to who knows where, they just knew it would be somewhere safe.

“Alright brats let’s go.” Yami started pushing people into the passage starting with Henry.

“What do we do when we escape, Sir?” Vanessa said as she looked at her boss for answers.

“Survive.” He told her, not knowing himself what would happen next.

Vanessa went through, leaving just Yami, Gauche, and Grey. Gauche went to enter the passage, but he turned back only to see Grey just staring at the door.

“Grey, we need to go.” Gauche told her, yet she didn’t move.

“He’s after me…”

“What?”

“He’s after me…he won’t stop chasing us until he has me.”

“Grey…what are you saying.” Gauche didn’t want to know what she was going to say.

Grey turned to look at her friends, her family, with tears running down her face and a smile that was painfully forced.

“I’m going to stay.”

To Gauche it seemed like the world had gone silent, he stared at Grey with shock at the words that exited her mouth.

“No, You can’t!”

“God dammit, Grey get here right now!” Yami yelled, concern present in his voice.

“I’m sorry I can’t go,” The explosion rang louder as they closed to the entrance. “I’ll only be a burden.”

“Grey, What the hell are you saying!” Gauche yelled out. “We ran from one of them, you’ve run from them for years, but now you decide you want to stay!? Why now!? You escape, faking your death, everything would go in vain if you just let yourself get captured now! So why!?”

“Because I’m tired of running! I’ve only realized now there is no point in running, no matter how far I run they’ll find me…might as well get it over with.”

“Grey, no please-” Gauche tried to plead with her, but soon the front door of the base was blown up. And standing in the destroyed door frame was none other thag Dante Zogratis himself.

“Well, well, well, what do we have here? Amara what are you doing in a place like this? Tsk tsk tsk.” Dante was with at least fifty soldiers, all with AR’s in hand.

“I-I’m sorry Dante…”

“It’s alright, my dear,” Dante said, in a dangerously calm tone. “All will be forgiven if you simply return to me.”

“Y-Yes, Dante.” As Grey walked towards him, Gauche had had enough and yelled in protest.

“No!”

Dante paused and looked towards Gauche.

“My apologies, but what was that?”

“No, she won’t be going anywhere with the likes of you.”

“And who are you to stop her?”

“I’m her friend, I care for her.” Gauche stated with pride and confidence, honesty behind every word he uttered. Grey looked at Gauche in shock. “You have no right to be with her, you’re an abusive piece of shit that doesn’t see her as anything else but a piece of property to own, you know nothing of what makes Grey Grey, and you never will because you will never care who she is.” Gauche's voice got louder, more aggressive, obviously showing his hatred for the man who hurt Grey.

“Gauche, Calm down” Yami tried to tell him, as they had fifty or more guns pointed at them at the moment. But the plea fell on deaf ears.

“No! I’ll be damned if I let Grey go anywhere with the likes of you-”

A gunshot rang out, Gauche fell to the ground clutching his side as blood started to come out. Grey’s eyes widened as Dante held his pistol pointed at Gauche, at that moment everything hit her and she realized what had just happened.

Dante shot Gauche.

“Why do you talk so damn much, didn’t your parents ever show you manners?” Dante asked in a mocking tone. “Maybe I should shut you up for good.”

As Dante prepared to fire another bullet directly into Gauche’s head Gauche prepared himself for his end, he wouldn’t get to say goodbye to his sister, nor tell Grey his feelings for her, this was it, it was over, Gauche shut his eyes waiting for the bullet to pierce his skin. But the shot never came. As he slowly opened his eyes he, alongside Vanessa, and Yami, saw Grey clutch Dante’s shirt.

“P-Please I’ll leave with you, just let them live.” She pleaded as she broke down in tears.

“Do you promise not to run away again?”

“Y-Yes, I promise.”

“Very well, move out men.”

“G-Grey, Wait!” Gauche yelled out, unable to get up due to his wound.

“I’m sorry…but this is goodbye.” She said, never looking back.

Once they had left Yami, Henry and Vanessa went to him to treat his wound.

“S-She left…”

“I know Gauche.” Yami tried to comfort him but to no avail.

“She just left!”

“Gauche, please.” Vanessa pleaded. “I’m upset too, but you need help.”

“N-No, Grey!” He tried to get up by force but stumbled to the ground, as he slowly lost consciousness.

“Grey…please, come back…” The world went dark for Gauche, as he soon passed out.

Hello y’all, it’s been a hot minute since I’ve made an actual chapter for the Greyche spy fic but here is chapter 16 enjoy

——————————————————————————

Grey walked the dark hallways of their base, she didn’t know how she was going to sleep tonight. She had so many thoughts swirling around in her head, what if Dante found her, what would she do then? Was she to just accept her fate? Or would she fight? The ladder didn’t seem all that possible. She could fight somewhat but it was mostly just self defense, if it were an actual fight she could never do it mainly for the fact unlike most of her comrades or hell unlike many normal people Grey was more on the weaker side, she could jump, run, do handstands sure but hand to hand combat was out of the question. While she was in her thoughts she suddenly hit something, it wasn’t a wall it was too soft for that, but she put her hands on it and it felt like a chest? A Chest!?

Grey quickly looked up and saw Gauche looking down at her, immediately her face turned red and she stumbled back in a stuttering mess unable to find the right words to explain herself properly.

“G-G-Gauche?” She squeaked out. “W-What are y-you doing up so late?”

“I could ask you the same thing, Grey.”

“I-I-I u-um” She stuttered over words, trying to explain herself.

“Just…sorry Grey, I shouldn’t have said it like that.” Gauche sighed. “Are you okay?” He asked in a softer tone, making Grey calm down somewhat.

“I…I don’t know,” She told him honestly. “This is all it’s…it’s all so terrifying.”

“I know what you mean.” Gauche said, as he walked to a nearby window with Grey soon following him to it.

“I’m sorry”

“For what?”

“All of this, if I hadn’t…if I weren’t born then maybe none of this would have happened.”

“Grey, why would you say that?” Gauche looked at Grey. “Grey if you were never born our lives would have been terrible, I mean you make everyone’s day better. Yami cares for you, Vanessa loves being with you, Zora seems to just want to protect you, you’re important in all our lives.”

“But just by being here I’m putting everyone in danger.” Grey said, as she tried to fight back the tears threatening to spill out, she had cried too much today, she needed to stop being pathetic. That’s what she told herself at least, but she knew deep down that it wasn’t healthy.

“But we’re willing to fight for you, Grey.”

“But Gauche, how are you not afraid?”

“What do you mean?”

“Just…how are you not afraid of anything, y-you’re so confident with everything, you never show and speck of fear, you’re…you’re everything I want to be.”

“Grey…I may not look it but, most if not always, I'm terrified.”

“W-What?” Grey was shocked, Gauche being terrified? “But you’re…you?”

“Even I get scared, Grey,” Gauche looked out the window. “Especially when it comes to my sister. I know what the others say, I know they joke about my obsession with my sister but, it’s just because I’m terrified of what could happen to her, I’m her older brother after all it’s my job to worry. And after our parents…passed on it’s only gotten worse, that’s why I became a spy, I knew the risks but I didn’t care. As long as I get to take care of Marie I don’t care what harm may come my way.”

“Gauche, I-I never know…I wish I had an older sibling like you.”

“Do…Do you have a family?” Gauche looked at Grey. “You…don’t have to answer that if you don’t want to.”

“N-No, it’s okay,” She took a deep breath. “I never met my mother, she died giving birth to me but from what my father told me, she was the nicest woman you would ever meet, always being able to brighten the mood.” Grey smiled softly. “I wish I could have met her, b-but my father wanted me to have a mother so he married my stepmother at the time. Things were okay at first but she would soon start acting more hostile towards me, and it got worse over time and when my father…passed on, she was able to show her true colors. And she was horrible, making me do all the chores, verbally and physically abusing me, and sometimes she would…lock me in the basement for days on end for not doing something right…”

“Grey I-”

“It’s okay, it’s my fault for letting them do that to me”

“Grey, it’s not, you were just a child.” Gauche told her. “You can’t keep blaming yourself for past events that were out of your control.”

“Then who do I blame?” Grey turned to look at Gauche. “My late father who simply wanted his daughter to have a mother?”

“No Grey, but that doesn’t mean you have to place it on yourself.”

“But”

“Grey, It’s not your fault, you were put into situations beyond your control, placed with people who had the worst intentions. But never should you blame yourself for that, you need to learn to accept that something isn't your fault. And just keep going, that’s what I tell myself.”

“G-Gauche.”

“You may not hear this enough but, you’re enough, you’re more than anyone could have asked for,” Gauche slowly gets closer to Grey, with her doing the same. “You’re the greatest thing to ever happen to any of us, you’re everything to me.”

“Gauche.” Grey is inches away from his face.

“Grey…I love-”
