So Story time!
After playing Haunted Carousel little 13-14 year old me became fascinated with Carousels and Carousel horses. And I wanted to know more.
It never occurred to me the books Her put in the games are all made up, so I waddles into Barnes and Noble and asked for a copy of (I’m not kidding) “All About Carousels” by Melvin A. Schwartz.
Of course they didn’t have it...
But! The nice lady at the counter did say they had one book in the Art and Hobby section on Carousels. And so I came home with this book instead,
And it has been with me ever since.
For those interested it tells you the history of carousels, and many famous carousel artists! And of course the pictures are amazing. I’ve come to find the Illinois Horses are my favorites,
Also inside it little Drew Kid me was happy to find this small little tidbit,

I read this old book cover to cover and over 10 years later I still have it and look back in it quite often. If anyone is interested in Carousel history, craftsmanship and of course photography I highly recommend it. Because of Haunted Carousel I now have the most random knowledge tucked away on carousels which I am always proud of 😋.

To be fair it was bits and pieces of multiple castles Wickford Frakensteined together. So it was a castle just not an “honest-to-goodness” castle I guess. 🤣
