Divers free a Megamouth shark from a fishing net in Tateyama Bay.
The Megamouth is a large deep-sea shark, rarely seen by people. Despite reaching a considerable adult size of 4m-5.2m, they are the smallest of the filter-feeding sharks, which includes the Basking Shark and the Whale Shark.. Their large mouths are lined with bioluminescent photophores, which are thought to attract plankton and fish to the slow-moving shark.

MANDATORY REBLOG
This sounds like a lot, but it’s true. An estimated 100,000,000 sharks per year are killed, threatening many species with endangerment or extinction.
Scary predators are important to the ecosystem, too. Conservation’s not just about the panda bears.
One day that tiny baby will be a big shark able to rip people to shreds
most blacktip reef sharks are no more than 5.5ft long when mature. not only that, blacktip reef sharks are timid and shy, with no fatal human attacks documented. don’t comment stuff like this on my posts, save it for another post and stay off mine. thanks

The first shark that comes to mind is the whale shark or nurse shark! Hammerheads are very sweet and shy as well.
Gifset of a carribean reef shark swarmed by fish: why are the fish swarming it and why doesn't the shark eat them? Why does it tolerate all those fish around it?
If you’re referring to this gifset, those are yellowtail snappers and I’ve never heard of anything about their relationship with sharks, so it’s pretty weird that they’d swarm that one shark in particular.
Are tzere any sharks small enough to live happily in a 10 gallon aquarium? I dont intend to get one but i was curious anyway
It is recommended that all at home aquarium sharks have a minimum 30 gallon tank.
