“This was a great idea,” Shanks panted, grinning between each tempest breath, air straining at the clutch of her ribs. 

Good stuff, air. The wind in her sails and the life in her lungs. Shanks was a sailor just as much as she was a pirate, and every sailor knew to thank what kept them from the wet hell of a drowning. Not that Shanks would mind drowning between Mihawk’s thighs. That would be a great way to go. 

“I would disagree,” Mihawk cut back, “Strongly.” 

“Hey now,” Shanks countered, tracing up and up, across the soft underbelly of Mihawk’s breast, if not the woman, “you’re the one that called me, sweetheart. Not my fault you can’t handle it now.” 

“That is far from—“

Pretty teeth snapped shut, biting a whimper into a growl. Shanks grinned wider. She pinched harder too, fingers mean with a nipple between them. 

Mihawk liked it when Shanks got a little mean. 

“Keeping all the best sounds for yourself is hardly fair,” Shanks chided, rolling her fingers in sweet punishment. She lost herself, for a moment, in the hiss that won, in the clench of Mihawk’s jaw, in the flush spilled like brandy from the throat down and down. 

“We are in a marine base.” 

“So we are,” Shanks agreed, easy. “But that’s hardly going to stop us, is it sweetheart?”

Imagine Frobin like a magician married couple. Franky changing his hair, turn on his nipple light and doing some poses meanwhile Robin make hands tricks like disappearing stuff or moving in other places.

People always assume he’s the main magician and she’s the assistant in the skimpy outfit but when the crowd arrives they’re always shocked that it’s the other way around. He’s always the one to go inside the box to be cut in half. He’s the one getting like, knives thrown at him. He’s the one she’s always making disappear.

Her focus is in sleight of hand wink and she prefers more up close work. She’s got a killer trick where it almost looks like there’s two of her at the same time. Loves an iconic “is this your card” reveal. She’s a master at escape tricks and can get out of practically any chains.

Franky’s the one who’s thinking up the illusion rigging and machinery. He likes the science behind magic the most. He’s testing out all the boxes and the cases and the odd new contraptions that always make it look like magic. They workshop out tricks together, and he won’t make her get locked into anything he wouldn’t lock himself in (even tho he knows she can get out with ease).

They’re not as into magic with animals involved (after a particularly bad incident involving an ostrich, a great dane, and a dozen doves that went all awry) so they prefer tricks that highlight their own personal strengths and the acclaim always follows.

But they have the oddest friends that they’ll bring out on stage. One girl summons clouds with the wave of her wand. One can twist into shapes and tie his arms in knots. One tells great stories as he makes the flowers bloom. No one can figure out how they get a skeleton to shred on the guitar. And while they don’t have too many tricks with animals, everyone always “ooooos” when Robin pulls that reindeer looking thing out of that hat.

Concept: Straw Hat Records, 800 years in the future

Jinbe - auto-biography, written in his own hand following his retirement, as one of the greatest primary sources for the events leading up to the Fishman Surfacing, as well as the War of the Best and the crowning of the Second Pirate King

Brook - his collected musical works (as Dial Tone recordings) and composer's notes; he didn't write it, but someone does up a documentary of his life after he achieves rockstar status

Franky - his blueprints; his daily logs and notes become an engineer's map to early construction methods worldwide

Robin - her magnum opus, Void No More; her memoirs of Ohara before, during, and after its destruction; her "Straw Hat Adventures", taken up since no one other than Nami was making daily logs for the crew

Chopper - his patient records (as primary historical sources); his own magnum opus, a field medicine/pharmacy text book; a textbook on Devil Fruits and their interaction with anatomy, with special focus on Zoans

Sanji - the Baratie cookbook, with a publication place listed as The All Blue; subtitled "How To Cook For A Literal Army".

Usopp - two: (1) The Anarchist's Cookbook and (2) "Dear Kaya: The True Adventures of the Mighty Warrior of the Sea" (written in epistolary format, every heading written as Dear Kaya)

Nami - the world's first and, right up to the invention of a GPS-equivalent, most accurate global atlas; her navigator's logbook, the only record following the foundation of the Straw Hat Pirates (as Robin took over the otherwise non-existent 'captains log' after Skypeia).

Zoro - poetry. Yes, really. When the crew did their reunion tour around East Blue, someone got their hands on a bunch of his old poetry from when the dojo was teaching the kids to write. Zoro didn't think twice about it but the others liked it, and Brook asked to save some of it for lyrics and they got preserved.

Luffy - his autograph, treasured and preserved by the Barto Club; one single copy of Sabo's Revolution Born that Robin read out loud to him, and whenever he made a comment, she wrote it into a corner as marginalia--he also added some truly awful sketches that people in 1000 years mistake as early abstract art
