They're dating, your honour
...somebody please tell me I'm not hallucinating and Waldo is actually in the picture.
I don't know if this is a controversial opinion or not, and I really don't mean anything by it, but there is something about Holiday in Harmony I would like to point out.
Am I the only one who thinks DreamWorks has chosen Tiny Diamond as the Breakthrough Character of the franchise when that's just...not really the case?
I noticed this when we learned the special's subplot would be centred around him. It just feels like DreamWorks is giving him much more attention than their other new characters, you know?
I mean, I like Tiny. The concept's cute, his birth allowed the fandom to further develop as a safe LGBT+ space, and his presence shows us a new side to Guy Diamond; he as a parent.
The thing is, Tiny is popular...but not that popular.
A quick look at the tags proves that the fandom is far more interested in the other tribes and their leaders than they are in Tiny. Shouldn't the subplot focus more on them then?
I personally would find it very satisfying if the subplot was actually about Barb having to give a present to another leader. She could be nervous about it because that would force her to understand the other tribes better, something TWT didn't really make her make an effort about. Sure, she ended up accepting diversity, but she didn't really try to rectify her mistakes. This could be a good opportunity for it.
Another reason why I believe Tiny is the new breakthrough character is the fact that he was the only troll who got special content in the DVD release. The only thing the bounty hunters and other leaders got was their deleted scenes.
Of course, a part of me understands they could have just chosen him to highlight the importance of family during the holidays. It's just that I've noticed a pattern.
Rest assured I will watch the special nonetheless and surely I'll end up loving it. I just wanted to point this out to see if anyone else thinks like me.
