Very cool that when Wally and Barry first met Wally was like "Hi I'm president of the Flash fan club and I love him and I only want to talk about the Flash actually." and Barry was like "!!!" and immediately threw on his Flash suit to impress him. Barry then listed off exactly how he got his powers to a ten year old Wally West, who was on the verge of a heart attack from excitement, and they both were geeking out when Barry got too excited about this lil redhead Flash fanatic and accidentally called down lightning from the heavens to smite him. Wally got superspeed out of it so they put him in a Flash costume and ran around together.
Then when Barry and Jay met Barry was like "Hi I've read every single Flash comic and I idolize you and I named myself after you and you are just the coolest and I want to hang out with you please." and then Barry showed off his Flash suit all proud like a kid showing their dad their first finger painting. And Jay was like "wow that is pretty nifty son" and immediately came out of retirement to hang out with Barry.
I just think it's pretty awesome that they are incapable of being normal in any regard. Barry gave Wally superspeed less than a minute after meeting him. Jay came out of retirement the second he met Barry. You could call it found family but honestly this is fast family. They did a family speed run. They locked eyes and adopted each other. It was family at first sight.
Very cool of Barry to obsessively read Flash comics while drinking milk in his lab, track down Jay Garrick to house, narrate Jay's entire life story to him and then pull out his own Flash costume to show it off and ask Jay to work with him.
Also very cool of Jay to hear a man claiming to be from another universe who knows his entire life story because 'he read it in comic books' and then stole his identity and tracked him down to his house and Jay's first response was to go "Oh this is my son now" and come out of retirement to bond with him
^ also everything about this is iconic. What's the main defining feature of Wally? He's the president of the Flash fan club. Wally was just obsessed with everything happening here. He got hit by lightning and was unfazed because the Flash was there and he didn't have time to worry about a little bit of lightning. Didn't even realize he had superspeed because he was too damn focused on the Scarlet Speedster. Absolutely zero situational awareness and I love him for it.
Barry's completely proportionate response to meeting a Flash obsessed child is fantastic. Go Barry, go show off your suit, lab and origin story to a child. Go give him superspeed and a costume and name him Kid Flash while internally having a panic attack. Love that for them.
