Nothing like a broken heart to bleed ink

I'm rewatching Qilin again and Sabine is incredible, the best mom ever, she anticipates everything that Marinette would do like a sponge for the spilt milk and placing a magazine with ads so she could pick the shoes she wants and she even made a dim sum reservation for her before she even asked her for it, this is the sweetest and most wholesome thing ever.

And it fits well with Sabine saying that Marinette knows what's good for herself in Dearest Family, without insisting that anything else should be instilled in her daughter like protection, discipline or freedom like Tom, Roland and Gina said, (even though they all mean well) because she knows how wonderful Marinette is going to become just the way she is.

And then the first scene in Qilin is followed by Marinette sadly saying she'll never be as organized and graceful as her mother. Little do you know, Marinette, little do you know.

Wait, one more thing, Sabine does what's best for her daughter, but she also lets Marinette have a say in what she wants. She leaves the ad for new shoes open and waits till Marinette says she wants them and even hears out her saying she wants some dim sum before agreeing, even though she's already gotten everything prepared to fulfill what Marinette likes.

On the other hand, a certain fashion mogul furnishes his son's bedroom with what he thinks his son should practice and engage in, including outdoor activities like rock-climbing, so that the son can stay isolated from the outside world with him getting no say in the matter.
