game over for wren!
contents: slavery whump, major character death (dehydration and starvation), trapped in a small space, hallucinations, verbal abuse, restraints.
It’s hard to keep track of the passage of time in the dark cell, but Wren is fairly certain that Daniel should have come back hours ago.
Of course, it’s possible that it hasn’t been that long. He slept at some point, but it could have just been a short nap, after which the darkness combined with his growing anxiety served to make his time perception more muddled; maybe Daniel will come back from hunting in the jungle any minute now, open the door, laugh at the relief on Wren’s face, but time continues to pass, even as muddled as it is, and Daniel is still absent.
Wren knows what it means for him if he never comes back.
