Glass Day
I didn’t manage to finish this piece for the original Glass Day, but @brutal-nemesis Rewind Month motivated me to come back to it, so now, after a year and two months - a totally reasonable amount of time - here’s a new Hell’s Bakery piece.
cw: pet whump, fairy whumpee, child whumpers (nothing too drastic), motherly lady whumper, dehumanization, humiliation, mouth gore (not witnessed by the children), cuts, blood, restraints.

“I’m not lying! Benji said-”
“Then Benji’s lying!”
“He’s not!”
“But it’s stupid!”
The twins have been bickering since they returned home - their raised voices flooded the apartment with the force of a tsunami when they opened the door, startling Lys. They’re loud, too absorbed in whatever Benji had told Igor to care about the noise they’re making, throwing their backpacks on the floor with enough force that Lys can’t help but worry about the contents. He takes comfort in their quarrel; it means he gets left alone - neither of the twins so much as addressed him after coming home - and he wouldn’t mind it lasting for the rest of the day.
The twins are… unpredictable. He’s terrified of Barb with her unsettlingly warm motherly facade, but her actions seem purposeful, calculated, and she clearly understands that he’s not a pet. That idea she seems to have created specifically for the kids - and it worked wonders.
