I hope none of you disappear in the coming days. Seriously don't do anything that can't be undone.

I know i'm just a random person you follow online but I mean it. People (all kinds of marginalised people too!) Have survived all types of horrible times and managed to find happiness eventually. If for no one else, survive for them. And also, try to survive because the people making you despair don't want you to live. Don't give this to them. Don't give your life. The best thing you can do is cling to it with everything you've got. Lay in bed for a day if you have to. but please promise you won't hurt yourself.

Take screen breaks, (now more than ever!!) Meet up, Call your friends, call your family if you're on good terms. Spend time with pets. Text your favourite mutual you never speak to if you've got no one irl. Hell, log on a minecraft server if nothing else. Or rewatch your favourite show.

Make sure you eat enough and sleep enough, and take the meds and vitamins that you need. Don't believe anything you think if you're hungry and tired and have been scrolling too long.

Get a therapy appointment if you think you need it.

You can absolutely not take any shortcuts when it comes to your wellbeing right now.

He opened his eyes to the endless starry sky above him. There were sensations and stimuli - dull, pulsating pain in his head and back, gentle sloshing of water, a hard wooden surface beneath him - but he was too captivated by the sky to pay attention to any of them, his eyes following the stars, searching for paths between them to create constellations. He couldn’t help but smile, which then turned into almost tearing up from how overwhelmed he was by the beauty and grandness of the sky.

When he took a deep breath, the pain intensified, snapping him back to his senses and making him wince. Why was he in pain?

question for the other (more experienced) whump blogs on here: do yall allow round robin replies on your posts? like— adding onto the idea and running with it? I see it a lot on the fandom/prompts side of tumblr, but I don’t think I’ve ever seen it on whumpblr, so I figured it was worth asking

Yes and people used to do this more often a few years ago I feel. It’s totally acceptable to add onto posts or to write snippets inspired by someone’s post and tagging them, we literally love that

In general I feel like we've become less interactive in the whump community, or maybe people are just less active. I remember in 2020 and 2021, the community felt so big and so full of life. Maybe we were all just quarantined and had nothing else to do, or maybe I'm just not following people who are active and posting.

But yeah, adding onto posts and continuing/building on ideas is totally okay and even encouraged!

I’m pretty sure the community is still growing and lots of new people are making blogs and posting whump. If you look at how many people are following the whump tag there are literally thousands of us out there.

But you’re right. For some reason the community interaction has decreased. I’m wondering if this is because we’re getting bigger and people feel less comfortable reaching out to others or adding on to their posts. I’ve definitely received fewer asks lately though new people regularly find and follow me. So maybe it’s a case of people no longer following the same etiquette and not being sure how to engage.

So I’m telling you all here whoever is reading this that whump has always been an interactive medium. We love having people send us asks. We love people tagging us in posts you think we’d like. We love people writing stuff or making art based on prompts and little ideas we’ve put out there. We love people adding onto our posts and talking about what they thought in the notes. Please do all these things!

There’s this one whump fic that I fell head over heels for when I first read it but now I cannot for the life of me find it. It was about this guy (he was some soldier I think) who gets kidnapped and taken into space by someone (I’m pretty sure either was one of his colleagues). Then when they’re on another planet he gets sold to this crazy guy who everyone on earth thinks is dead.

This colleague then tells everyone on earth that the mc is dead so now he’s stuck on this planet getting tortured by a crazy man.

Please I need to read it again, if you recognise it PLEASE tell me what it was called. I am on my knees
