On February 4, Taron Egerton is set to plonk himself in his own, socially-distanced red chair to chat with Norton about Sing 2 and making his West End debut in Mike Bartlett's Cock.
Since Tetris wrapped earlier this year, shortly after speaking to Vaughn during the group interview, I followed up with him to ask when the film might be released on Apple. He told me they have to do some additional photography in March of next year, but the film should be out in the 3rd quarter of 2022.

Taron Egerton has boarded Claire Denis’ romantic drama thriller, Stars at Noon, based on the 1980s Denis Johnson novel of the same name. He replaces Robert Pattinson, who dropped out of the project due to conflicting shooting commitments.
The film is set in Nicaragua amid a period of violence and political turmoil. Egerton will play an employee of a shady British oil company who becomes entangled with a struggling female reporter, played by Margaret Qualley, whom he meets in the bar of a faded luxury hotel.
From Screen Daily:
Filming will now take place in Panama in October 2021.
Apple TV+ is nearing a series order for In With the Devil, a six-hour adaptation of a true crime memoir by James Keene that has Taron Egerton set to star as the author and Richard Jewell‘s Paul Walter Hauser in talks to join him as a suspected serial killer. Michael R. Roskam will direct a script by Dennis Lehane. It will shoot in New Orleans.
Keene was a young Chicago kid who was a standout football player headed for a pro career when a few turns in the wrong direction caught him a decade-long prison sentence with no chance of parole. The son of a Chicago cop was offered by the prosecutor who put him behind bars the chance to be sprung from prison and a chance to redeem himself. The stakes were high. Same prosecutor convicted a man named Larry Hall for abducting and killing a 15-year-old, just one of perhaps 19 other women he killed. The killer could be released on appeal. Keene’s task was to ingratiate himself with the murderer, in prison, and get him to confess to two murders.
The actor, 31, was said to have been in close contact with a crew member who caught the virus while shooting Falling Blocks in Glasgow.
A publicist for the film said they hope to have him back on set this week after he tested negative.
A spokesman said tonight: “Taron is isolating as a precaution but production continued.”
Apple has picked up the rights to the feature from Stan & Ollie director Jon S. Baird, which will be produced by Matthew Vaughn’s Marv.
Written by Noah Pink, Tetris: The Movie will tell the story of the creation of Tetris via computer programmer Alexey Pajitnov, during the fall of the Iron curtain in the USSR. Egerton will play Dutch-born video game entrepreneur Henk Rogers who secured the global rights to distribute Tetris on video game consoles.

“We can confirm that there will not be an additional season of ‘The Dark Crystal: Age of Resistance.’ We know fans are eager to learn how this chapter of ‘The Dark Crystal’ saga concludes and we’ll look for ways to tell that story in the future,” said executive producer Lisa Henson. “Our company has a legacy of creating rich and complex worlds that require technical innovation, artistic excellence, and masterful storytelling. Our history also includes productions that are enduring, often finding and growing their audience over time and proving again and again that fantasy and science fiction genres reflect eternal messages and truths that are always relevant. We are so grateful to Netflix for trusting us to realize this ambitious series; we are deeply proud of our work on ‘Age of Resistance,’ and the acclaim it has received from fans, critics and our peers, most recently receiving an Emmy for Outstanding Children’s Program.”
Similar trends have been seen in boys’ names where the name Taron has increased in popularity, with 48 boys born in 2019 being given this name, the most since detailed records began in 1996. This choice in name might be influenced by the actor Taron Egerton who starred in the 2019 award-winning Elton John biopic, Rocketman (26 August 2020)
This – the arts, music, literature, film – is what Egerton used to think the Montblanc slogan "What Moves You, Makes You" meant, how what resonates with you defines you. He still thinks that, to an extent, but lockdown has changed him.
“What this incredible, terrible and very odd time has done,” he begins, “is to remind me the things that mean the most are family. I’ve probably spent more time with my sisters in the past six months than their entire lives. They’re eight and ten and those years have been my career. So, to let a relationship grow in a way that didn’t feel fleeting? That’s been moving for me. It’s a recalibration of my priorities.”
