ConsolePedals - Dual-Slot-Basis
“ Original design Nintendo 64 cartridge based modular guitar pedal. Each guitar effect is stored in a custom cartridge with unique artwork for quick swapping of effects without fumbling with cables. This base has two independent latching foot switches to allow cartridge A, B, or A then B to be activated. Cartridge base is FDM 3D printed and is currently being made in blue, red, or green. All 3D printed files, custom circuit board designs, drilling, and soldering is done by me. Note: Only includes base for cartridges. Cartridges themselves are sold separately and are needed for guitar pedal to work “

Tech-in Mind Electronics - Do-In Instruments - AGP-1 Analog Guitar Effects Processor, 2009
"This strange gem is an all analog signal path multi-Fx with 13 all analog effect modules plus 2 internal effects with digital control of all parameters. ... This was the brainchild of a Hong Kong startup called Tech-in-Mind Electronics in 2009. The unit is called the AGP-1 (analog guitar processor 1). The effect modules (my guesses as to what the circuit mimics): Compressor/Noisegate (sounds like a Ross or MXR) Phaser (sounds like a Phase 90) Hot Distortion (Rat maybe) Chorus (analog chorus, not a chorus connoisseur, so no clue what it is like) Tremolo (solid state trem) Fuzz (don’t know what flavor, but it is fuzzy) Acoustic Simulator (sucks as an acoustic simulator, fun as a sound maker) Metal Distortion (thicker and more high harmonics than Hot Distortion) Octaver (tracks and sounds like a Boss octaver pedal) Auto-wah (70’s flavored envelop filter sound) Flanger (analog flanger, smooth and nice) Overdrive (sounds like a Tube Screamer to me) Delay/Echo/Reverb (The delay is gorgeous! It is as tasty as any analog delay that I have had (Memory Man and DOD). Not a reverb at all, but it is a legit bucket brigade analog delay. Enough delay time to get dotted 8th and quarter note delays depending on tempo. No idea what the millisecond time is.)
It also has two internal effects: 7-Band EQ (reasonably flexible) Amp Sim (I compared this to a Tech 21 SansAmp classic and it sounded identical to a specific setting that was clean and warm)
Additional features: Mixer with several inputs (see photos) Metronome Tuner (not the greatest, but works in a pinch. Headstock tuners put it to shame.)
The AGP-1 came along at the height of the DIY pedal building movement, and I would guess that many of the circuits that were popular among builders at the time were used for the modules. The 10 modules can be moved around into different order in the 10 internal slots. It is a fussy business moving them around as each module has something like 30 pins on them that need to line up with the sockets in the main device. ... Oh, and it has an RS-232 jack intended for firmware updates. It was rather dated in 2009. It is comical now! The company is long gone, so no firmware updates."

Chibson USA / daredevil effects - PLACEBO PEDAL
“Made by Daredevil Effects, the Chibson USA Placebo Pedal is limited to a run of only 100 pedals. These ‘totally transparent’ boutique pedals are specifically designed to do absolutely nothing! When you engage the footswitch, a status LED comes on, but the two controls labeled Dosage and Side FX don’t really do much, and your guitar sounds exactly the same!
You may think its current list price of $99 on the Daredevil Pedals website is a lot for a pedal that does nothing. But once you realise it has been reduced from $1495.99, it seems like quite the bargain.
Chibson USA Placebo Pedal: Literally does nothing. Or does it? Well, actually, you can buy an add-on $25 plug-in circuit which turns the pedal into a Coloursound One Knob-style fuzz. You can hear it being demoed below by Johnny at Daredevil Pedals. And I have to say, it sounds pretty dirty and raucous!“

COOPER FX - ARCADES
“Arcades can be any type of pedal you want. It is a versatile multi effect platform, but what makes it unique is that it determines what type of effect it is based on the card that is inserted into the pedal. Much like certain retro video game consoles, the Arcades will allow the user to swap cards to select the experience they want. Instead of a video game however, the change of a card will result in a different bank of eight effects.“

FRAYED - effects pedals
“... enclosures were designed in Fusion360 and printed on my printer. The electronics ... are based on modern micro-controllers. The designs are based on the ESP32 micro-controller which contains a large number of integrated peripherals. By selecting the ESP-32, every pedal supports low power Bluetooth as well as WIFI. The pedal bodies have one or two slots that accept effect module plugins. The effects are designed to be completely analog to insure that delays are minimized. The micro-controller controls digital pots allowing it to create new dynamic effects that you could simulate by moving the controls on your existing pedals as you are playing. Because the effects are modules, you can mix and match effects without having to pay for the pedal body and controls every time you purchase a new effect. There is also a plan to develop an effect hotel with room for larger numbers of effect modules. The hotel would reside on top of your amplifier and the floor units would become wireless controllers. The designs for the pedal bodies, electrical interfaces and common micro-controller code will be open source and freely available to developers. The first module is entering the testing stage and will be called “Cavern”. It is a dynamic Delay,Echo,Reverb effect.”

ONE CONTROL - ROCKET GREY FUZZ
“The Rocket Grey Fuzz features an input circuit which optimizes the sensitivity for guitar, enabling players to engage both the octave up and standard fuzz circuit without needing to adjust the tone. According to One Control, the tone of this pedal is much purer and less ring modulated than older designs.”

Effector 13 Console II: Coming Summer 2011
Vintage much? I can see it now: musicians stopping mid show to blow the dust out of their cartridges just like old NES games: “Hold on guys, let me boot up my flanger real quick. I think I got it this time…*blows into cartridge* …Dammit! Anyone have a spare 72-pin connector?” It is an interesting idea although proprietary stuff has a way of becoming useless fast not to mention the limited market makes it hard to resell. I’ll keep my eye on it, but it’s hard not to imagine myself drunkenly misplacing a foot stomp and crushing the card and pin connection into the unit. Here is the official release, re-blogged from http://www.effector13.com/
What is the Effector 13 Console II? Quite simply it is a guitar pedal in which you can insert two specially designed cartridges to create your own unique effects unit.
What do the cartridges do? For now the cartridges designers will be focusing on Fuzz, Distortion, Overdrive, and Boost fx, but there is the possibility of expanding into other kinds of fx in the future!
What are the controls? The Effector 13 Console II consists of two “channels” that can be switched on / off independently, with the channel on the right cascading into the channel on the left (like a standard signal chain). Each channel has four knobs whose functions change depending on which cartridge is inserted into the unit.
So the controls change depending on the cartridge? That is correct. For instance, the devi ever Soda Meiser’s controls are left-to-right, Volume, Tone, Starve, and Gain. The devi ever Punch Love’s controls are Volume, Tone, Grit, and Gain.
Can I build my own cartridge? Unfortunately the current format used for the Effector 13 Console II requires a cartridge to be designed with SMD components which isn’t very user friendly for the casual DIY enthusiast. Fortunately there will be an adapter available so that you can plug any standard breadboard into the Effector 13 Console II for prototyping purposes.
When will the Effector 13 Console II be available? We are currently aiming to release the Effector 13 Console II as well as the Devi Ever Punch Love and Soda Meiser cartridges by Summer 2011.
When will cartridges from other companies be available? The brilliant minds at Dwarfcraft, Fuzz Hugger, Infanem, Malekko, and Mellowtone have all committed to designing cartridges that will be available at various times through out 2011.
How much will the Effector 13 Console II cost? The Effector 13 Console II will be available for $135, and will include the Devi Ever Punch Love boost / overdrive cartridge.
How much will cartridges cost?
Devi Ever cartridges will be available for $50. We are hoping that the other companies will aim to sell at this price point as well.

Moog Circuit Bending Challenge 2016 (the Winner)
Vola V-System is a video game inspired sequencer with sound cartridges made from toys. The actual bends are simple but the concept makes this machine really flexible in my opinion. It can be a beat machine, “sampler” or toyinstrument. It all depends on what cartridge you use.

Pete Goss - ELECTRICAL GUITAR SIGNAL MODIFICATION UNIT
“... I have built a Fuzz Face circuit inside the "tube". The tube only has 4 pins (In, Out, 9v and Gnd). The pot is 470K for output volume. Some suggestions, if you please, for another "tube" circuit bearing in mind the design constraints above. The idea will be to plug in a different tube to get a new effect from the same "stompbox".“
