I see people talk about how Karin's moonscorch is a rare case of positive attributes being amplified through her transformation but I honestly can't see it as anything but a scathing way to amplify her worst qualities.

Journalists are vultures but Karin sees herself as different, she's a Valkyrie that carries the stories of the dead on her back. Except from an outside perspective she doesn't look like a Valkyrie she looks more like a harpy, and those aren't the dead she's carrying on her backs they're Bellends, aggresive late game enemies that guard important areas.

When Karin moonscorches her eyes are covered, she lifts up those who enforce violence rather the victims of it, she cannot listen to what you have to say only ever repeating her own beliefs. She becomes the very embodiment of how others view her and now she'll never be able to convince anyone but herself that it's not true. Her self-perscribed heroic attributes aren't being amplified here it's her stubborness and unwillingness to reflect on herself.
