The Relaunch Celebration for sucrecouture in Los Angeles
Looking For Inspiration In The Blogging World
If you take a quick look through my blog it's pretty evident that I've been absent from well blogging. Why? The short answer, life. I've been caught up in working my 9 to 5 job and trying to be a functioning adult and it's kicking my ass. I've been lacking inspiration. Although blogging is a very solitary activity I've found in the past that I get the most inspired when I'm around like minded individuals who understand what I do and why I do it. The Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Conference has been that major source of inspiration I've needed in the past.
If you've never been or heard of blogger conferences let me tell you about this one and why I love it. The Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Conference focuses on teaching you how to push yourself to utilize your talents to their maximum potential and share them with the world through blogging.
The inspiration part comes when creative, driven enthusiastic women from all over the United States and Canada come together in one room to learn and motivate each other. Fashion, lifestyle, food, travel and beauty bloggers are all welcomed to come learn and share tips on how to take your blogging and writing to the next level. This year the panels and sessions will be jammed packed with information like every year. There will be industry leaders, celebrity stylist, and indie designers all leading sessions. Oh and The Curvy Fashionista, Marie Denee will also be speaking at the conference! So join me as I get my inspiration back! Get your ticket HERE, oh and the ticket comes with TWO swag bags, lunch for both days, and an awesome VIP kick off reception, oh not to mention one on one time with major brands looking to work with bloggers. Check out the agenda HERE oh and psssst...use code LASTFLASH for a major discount. See you there!
Plus Size Indie Designers Riot On The Runway!
I have been a hermit crab as of recent because you know sometimes you like just don't want to leave the house. However it's fashion week in Los Angeles and what better reason to leave the house than Riot On The Runway, an all plus size indie designer runway show at Runway Boutique.
Zelie for She was clear crowd favorite. After the show I was lucky enough to try on the entire collection straight off the runway. I'm currently obsessed with this pink tutu.
Designer, Elann Zelie even got me to step out of my comfort zone with this teal flower skater skirt.
It was very refreshing to see an event dedicated solely to promoting and supporting plus size indie fashion designers and to see the plus size community in Los Angeles come out to support. Even Lornalitz of Nuvo TV's Curvy Girls showed up to show her support along with other bloggers and supporters. Amazing night for the new generation of plus size designers.
Little pick me ups for the soul at Caffe Bene in LA. It was exactly what I needed.

PLUS SIZE FASHION SHOW COMES BACK TO LOS ANGELES FASHION WEEK
The Elite Curves Internation Plus Size Fashion Show is set to return to LA Fashion week this October and you don't want to miss it. I was lucky enough to be there last year for it's first year as it became the first of it's kind. There is no other plus size fashion show or line showing at LA Fashion week but the Haute Curves show was amazing and made sure they cemented their presence at fashionweek bringing to LA designers from Australia, indie local designers and major fashion retailer Forever 21+. Last year the VIP section was filled with plus size models, fashion bloggers and industry people all taking in the show. This year it promises to be bigger and even better than last year. You don't want to miss this. See you there!! GET YOUR TICKETS HERE
LINDEN:MADE IN LA I am officially madly in love and completely obsessed with the LINDEN “Christie” Skirt in lemon. I don’t think I’ve ever felt this way about a skirt but the fit the way the skirt flows and moves has me completely in love. LINDEN is the California based line owned and designed entirely by independent designer Jennifer Lynn. The brand actually offers only straight sizes but Jennifer is no stranger to designing for curvier bodies. She’s previously designed plus size and the pieces LINDEN has to offer are designed and cut in such a way that fit and flatter any body type. Milani's Website Launch Party
Last Thursday Milani Cosmetics celebrated the launch of their new website with an intimate but very rad party at Geisha Studio in Los Angeles. I of course was in attendance because let me tell you Milani throws awesome parties! Milani's new website and social media platform has lookbooks for make up inspiration, their favorite youtube tutorial videos and the site now allows you to shop for everything you need right there and then to complete your favorite looks.

Glamorama Artrageous
Last Friday I attended Macy's Glamorama Artrageous thanks to the amazing Latina Lifestyle Bloggers Group. It was a night of music, fashion and art all to benefit the fight against HIV/AIDS. In the past 29 years more than $29 million has been raised. Rachel Roy, Armani Jeans, Tracy Reese and Macy's Impulse line were among the collections shown. Dance groups kept the crowd entertained and hyped up in between the fashion shows. If the dancing wasn't enough to get everyone pumped up the music group Far East Movement warmed the crowd up for more fashion and the closing of the show with none other than Mr. Cee Lo Green himself! I'll let the pictures tell the rest of the story.
The event was once again held in Downtown L.A at the Orpheum theater.
Far East Movement
Here's a treat. PAPI had the gorgeous models come out just like I like them SHIRTLESS.
Cee Lo really brought the house down when he closed the show with new hits and some throwbacks.
As always I keep my eyes open for the thick, curvy fashionistas out. They were also headed to the afterparty.
The after party was held a couple blocks down from the Orpheum theater at the California Market Center.
I was with fellow latina lifestyle blogger Yolanda and the first thing we did was hit up the Patron photo booth. They had such a fun set up and tons of props. Furs, hats, and costume jewelry for you to accessorize your mini photo shoot.
Fabulous ladies enjoying the L.A. Times Bubbly Bar.
I had the pleasure of meeting the lovely Miss Angela Rene from Purple Diva Designs before I left the afterparty. I had a great time and enjoyed the fashion show, the performances and the shirtless men. On a serious note though, the focus and main goal of this event was to continue to raise awareness and help fight HIV/AIDS. Each of us can help fight against HIV/AIDS by doing something as simple as getting tested. I know my status. Do you?
