Thanks to Amazon.de and a whole boatload of overseas shipping charges, I have finally acquired the Amidala perfume!
The box arrived a little dented, so sorry about that, but the packaging is so pretty and shiny. You’re not missing anything on the backside but the ingredient list. I got the 60ml instead of the 40ml because if it’s coming all that way, I might as well get the bigger version!
I put the perfume bottle itself next to the doll for scale (it’s actually significantly shorter than the box, which is weird). It’s theoretically supposed to resemble a lightsaber hilt, power button and all. The bottom portion is actually metal. The white plastic bit twists to bring down the (painted gold plastic) top portion and reveal the actual spray depressor. It’s got some heft to it!
As for the scent, well! It’s a treat. I’m not really one for super perfume-y smells. I stick to Britney Spears’ Fantasy because I love its sugary scent, and the other one I use occasionally is a petrichor-based perfume. I skip the Chanel and pretty much anything else you’ll ever find in the tester pages of a fashion magazine because they remind me of my elementary school principal who used to bathe in that kind of stuff.
However, I added this one right into my arsenal. It’s definitely got a subtle citrus scent in addition to being kind of sweet, maybe a touch of vanilla? It’s super unique, I’ve never smelled anything else like it. However, it’s quiiiite potent-- one spritz is more than enough to set you on your way.
If you live overseas or you’re willing to pay the shipping, I do totally recommend adding this to your collection. It smells lovely enough to actually use, and it’ll still look beautiful with the rest of my Queen Amidala stuff long after the perfume itself is gone.
