Fun Fact: Furfur mispronouncing Aziraphale's name wasn't originally in the script, it was Reese's idea :)❤.
Our brilliant Shakespeare/Furfur left twitter. Edit: Wahoo for Neil! :) Hopefully Reece will join BlueSky (and tumblr :D❤)
The entire series is incredible, but I have to shout out Reece Shearsmith - Furfur's attempts to say "Aziraphale" made me full on cackle
As a League of Gentlemen fan, I have to say a huge thank you for bringing them all together again, along with the amazing Andy Nyman
That was all Reese. (It wasn't in the script. He texted me before he did it to ask if he could, and I said definitely.)
Remember there were also two Jeremy Dysons present.
Oooh, wahoo and Happy Birthday to Reece Shearsmith whose birthday is today! :)) <3 (he was born 27 August 1969 :))
(Reece Shearsmith (Furfur) and Steve Pemberton (Mr Glozier - one of the Nazis) made together a brilliant (if a bit disturbing :D) tv series called Inside No. 9)
hi! do you have any pictures of the zombies from ep4, if so thank you!!
Hiya! :) Here:
hello mr gaiman :) i’ll be happy with a wait and see but i was wondering whether you’d tell us if mark, reece and steve will reprise their roles of s1 or play new characters. i’m so happy they’re all coming back (and jeremy too)!!
Mark and Steve will. Reece plays a demon named Furfur.
Ohh! :)
What we know about Furfur: Actually, there’s a brief spider animation in Episode 4, now I think of it. Close your eyes when Furfur uses the clicker.
I just discovered a very clever anthology show called Inside No 9, by and with Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith. Imagine my surprise when I came upon an episode from 2015 about a witch trial, with a pair of characters called Sarah and Thomas Nutter.
I then discovered Reece and Shearsmith appearing in Good Omens, not so very long afterwards.
Did you know them before they wrote Nutters at a witch trial, or is that how they came to your attention?
I discovered Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith and Mark Gatiss and Jeremy Dyson on BBC Radio 4 with their radio comedy show, On the Town With the League of Gentlemen in 1997, and discovered what they looked like on the TV adaptation of the radio show, The League of Gentlemen, around 2002.
All of them are in Good Omens Season 1. All of them are in Good Omens Season 2. And Jeremy Dyson co-wrote (with Andy Nyman) the minisode that takes up much of Episode 4 of Season 2.
And Inside Number 9 is my favourite TV show.
Age cannot wither her, nor custom stale her infinite variety. - William Shakespeare, Antony and Cleopatra
Mark Gatiss, Steve Pemberton and Reece Shearsmith (who played the nazis and Shakespeare in S1) spotted today as well :) (x)
Reprising his role as Metatron is Derek Jacobi (Gladiator) and joining the cast for season two is his I, Claudius co-star Dame Siân Phillips (Dune).
Also returning this season in roles that span heaven, hell, and earth are the trio from The League of Gentlemen Mark Gatiss (Sherlock), Steve Pemberton (Killing Eve), and Reece Shearsmith (Inside No. 9).
Niamh Walsh (The English Game) returns, while joining in new roles are Tim Downie (Outlander), Pete Firman (The Magicians), Andi Osho (I May Destroy You), and Alex Norton (Pirates of the Caribbean).
There are still a few names to be added but we can reveal that big-hitters Benedict Cumberbatch and Frances McDormand won’t be back for season two.
👀👀👀.
