Jon Hamm: I've worn everything on this show, from nothing to a rug wrapped around me to a beautiful bespoke suit.

Kate Carin (Costume Designer): When we see him at the bookshop for the ball, we thought it would be hilarious that Aziraphale had asked him to get really dressed up for it. So we did a bit of a homage to Liberace. So he's got a powder blue dinner suit that's encrusted with rhinestones. And then Douglas asked if we could do some sort of coat to go on top of it for one of the scenes when he leaves. So, of course, we didn't do just a coat. We did a huge ostrich feather coat, which we made from scratch. The girls did all the ombre on the feathers so it matches the dinner suit, gets lighter and lighter blue as it comes to the top, and then he's kind of surrounded by this halo of white feathers.

Sarah-Kate Fenelon (Producer): There is a shot when he emerges from the bookshop to meet all of the demons and say, like, I am who you're looking for, where he looks a little bit like an angel. And the silhouette of him kind of emerging in the light is very epic and is then just completely undercut by sort of, move out of the way. (video)

Aziraphale's heavy box

Has anyone else noticed this. Crowley is evacuating the humans from the ball S2E5 about 37 mins in. Aziraphale says "I'm trying to save your lives" After Crowley says "Nina are you coming, no staying behind to die bravely" Nina and Maggie exchange looks and in the background Aziraphale is lugging a big heavy box out from behind a curtain.

Never noticed it before or seen any mention of it but that's not to say there isn't a massive meta about it already.

My friend suggested (after rewatching both E5 and E6) that it were not the contents of the box that mattered, but the box itself.

Look at the surroundings of the summoning circle in the beginning of E6:

And look at it before and after the battle:

See how little space there was in the first two shots compared to the last two?

While Nina and Maggie distracted Shax, Aziraphale built barricades around the circle so that the demons who entered would have no choice but to step into it (and be discorporated). That's what box was for - it lay at the base of the barricade on the other side of the bookshelf.

Do guns work on demons? When the library was being invaded why didn’t Azira use the gun he has hidden in hollowed out books?

Avatar

No, they don't.

I mean, he might have discorporated a handful of demons, assuming he was able to find the book with the gun in it, get to wherever he safely and securely kept his ammunition, unlock the ammunition, and fire the gun using 90 year old ammunition without blowing his hand off. But that still would have left over 70 demons coming at him.

Hello Neil! Not sure if you’ve answered/explained this already in the FAQ but since I didn’t see it, I’ll ask: What made Maggie and Nina immune to Aziraphale’s miracle during the bookshop attack after the ball?

I’ve seen some speculate there was a miracle blocker in place, others think the girls didn’t fall for it because they were already too suspicious of Crowley and Aziraphale, therefore didn’t fall under the “nobody will notice anything” category of perception (which I had always presumed to be “well, they might be minding their own business, see something strange but my miracle will make it so they don’t truly notice and continue with their day”, please correct me if I’m wrong)

Or was it simply that Aziraphale’s miracle wasn’t as powerful as usual thanks to the stress from Shax’s attack, so he just couldn’t focus properly on the miracle?

Also: hoping you’re having a lovely day!

When I wrote it I imagined the latter. Also I think Aziraphale is a bit lazy on his miracles because mostly humans are pretty suggestible. At that point in the story Maggie and Nina would have needed a lot more pushing than Aziraphale had the spoons for.

‪Hi Mr. Gaiman)

‪I have a question regarding Crowley and Aziraphale not being able to resurrect humans. It seemed like the demons killed Mr. Brown, but than we see him alive and well at the end of the last episode. I thought Crowley brought him back to life after escorting Maggie and Nina out. Was I wrong to think that? what actually happened?‬

‪I know you get a lot of questions and might not get to this one. either way thank you in advance and have a good day)

P.S. I loooved the second season and can’t stop thinking about it. ‬

Mr Brown had not been killed. He was taken by the demons and stashed away to be dealt with later -- Shax was still intimidated by Crowley's declaration that the demons could not kill civilian humans at that point.

At the risk of adding to your Sisyphean pile of asks, Mr Gaiman, what did Mrs Sandwich mean by her "I've got more than that, love" comment in episode 5? The tone of Crowley's response is not entirely clear to me either so I can't make inferences very well.
P.S. Loved the season, currently consuming every iteration and adaptation of good omens over and over.

Alas the previous conversation about her not being scared of the mob because she was armed with her hatpin was cut. So just assume it means that she has more than her hatpin (which is what Crowley has asked about).
