JOANNA!!
I didn’t make it all the way through third grade for nothing!
“Home, home on the range Where the critters are tied up in chains I cut through their sides And I rip off their hides And the next day I do it again.”
Everyone always talks about how “dark” The Hunchback of Notre Dame is. I’ve been seeing that a lot lately, especially in Disney confessions. Guess they’ve never watched The Rescuers Down Under. This terrifying piece of nightmare work is McLeach (Percival C.).
He kidnaps a kid so he can kill a bird. Because that’s what he does for a living: kill animals so he can sell them. (There’s a charming conversation between the captures animals on what they’ll be turned in to.) He then proceeds to gleefully throw knives at Cody, lock Cody in a cage, dangle Cody from a cliff above crocodiles, and then shoots at him so said crocodiles can eat him.
And all of this is, of course, not even coming close to what was going on in the FIRST Rescuers film.
