Another election, another spectacle of ‘democratic participation’ to distract, disempower, and defuse popular anger at the politicians and the status quo.
While many leftists see an obvious need to oppose the Tories, many of them are still caught in Corbyn hysteria, pinning their delusions on an extremely unlikely Labour win. To any Corbynites out there, I recommend this recent article:
"Participation in the politics of the bourgeois States has not brought the labor movement a hair's-breadth nearer to Socialism, but thanks to this method, Socialism has almost been completely crushed and condemned to insignificance... Participation in parliamentary politics has affected the Socialist Labor movement like an insidious poison. It destroyed the belief in the necessity of constructive Socialist activity, and, worst of all, the impulse to self-help, by inoculating people with the ruinous delusion that salvation always comes from above."
Rudolf Rocker, on electioneering.
Anti-political Jeremy Corbyn themed leaflet/poster I made. I’d be nice if comrades in the UK wanted to hand it out at ‘momentum’ events.
I also recommend reading this text regarding the whole #keepcorbyn nonsense:
