honestly this ship works for SO MANY REASONS:

blonde x ginger
blue character x red character
they have a lot in common (absent mothers, raised by fathers, close to their grandmas, initially refusing to join the x-men the first time, etc...) and also these two quotes of theirs are pretty neat
