Via Flickr: Lee Plaza (Also known as the Lee Plaza Hotel or Lee Plaza Apartments) is a vacant high-rise apartment building in Detroit, Michigan... The building was designed by Charles Noble and constructed in 1929, it rises to 15 floors and is an excellent example of Art Deco architecture of the 1920s. First built as an ornate high rise hotel along West Grand Boulevard, Lee Plaza was an upscale apartment with hotel services. Decorated with sculpture and tile outside, the structure rivaled the Book-Cadillac Hotel and Statler Hotel for architectural notice in Detroit during the 1920s. After economic contraction, the apartment's ownership changed several times, being used as a Senior Citizen's complex before finally closing as a residence in the early 1990s. During its years of vacancy, much of the artwork, internal wiring, fixtures and valuable material has been removed illegally by scavengers.

Via Flickr: The Fisher Body Plant 21 is located on the southeast corner of Piquette and St. Antoine. It was designed in 1921 by Albert Kahn for Fisher Body, who manufactured Buick and Cadillac bodies in the plant until 1925. The plant is six stories tall, with a footprint of 200 feet (61 m) by 581 feet (177 m) and an interior area of 536,000 square feet. During the Great Depression, Fisher suspended production and the building was used as a soup kitchen and homeless shelter.[13] The plant was used as an engineering design facility from 1930–1956; during World War II, the factory produced P-80 Lockheed Shooting Star Planes, FG-4 (F4U-4) Corsair Shipboard Fighters, and some assemblies for B-25 Mitchell bombers.[13] After 1956, the plant was used to build Cadillac limousine bodies; GM closed the plant in 1984. After GM left, several paint companies used the building; it closed for good in 1994. In 1999, as a result of unpaid property taxes, the building became the property of the City of Detroit and was re-addressed as 6051 Hastings St.

Via Flickr: The Woodward Avenue Presbyterian Church is a church located at 8501 Woodward Avenue in Detroit, Michigan. Built in 1911 in the Gothic revival style, the architect was Sidney Badgley. It was used for some time as the Abyssinia Church of God in Christ. The building was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1982

Via Flickr: This building has been closed and abandoned for decades. It's considered a local eyesore, and has claimed at least two lives over the years. The floors are sagging, and the building is simply defying gravity. Gaping holes in the walls and floors, plus the scrappers are taking everything in sight. Stairs, cabinets - you name it. Access to the upper levels was pretty easy, but thew stairs used to access the first levels are now gone. The massive basement(s) now contain storm run-off and ground water and are the unofficial storm retention pond for the area, holding several billion gallons of water. The city has also announced plans to demolish the complex, and even held a "demolition ground breaking" ceremony in March of 2013.
