Finland - Jamsankoski (Abandoned Summer Cottage) by semousian on Flickr.
Via Flickr: This is a summer cottage in Jämsänkoski, near Kankarisvesi in Central Finland. I spent my summers here with my parents when I was a kid. It has seen better days, and now lies abandoned and getting overwhelmed by vegetation.
Interior forest [explored] by [AndreasS] on Flickr.
Via Flickr: View large on black. From the second floor of a Norwegian factory used to make bone meal of dead animals. It was abandoned in 1995. I like this room where there is almost a small forest growing on the concrete. The place is ready for demolition and had a peculiar smell on the entire first floor... It has been found high levels of animal fat in the ground, as well as residues from the factory operations. On tour with my self. uexplorer.wordpress.com/2011/09/26/factory-m-no/ My blog ||twitter || youtube || vimeo If you are inspired to do urban exploration after seeing my pictures, do so at your own risk. Forest Haven by rollfilm2 on Flickr.
Via Flickr: Laurel, MD, 11/12/2011 --Forest Haven Asylum was a mental retardation facility operated by the District. When it opened in the 1920s, Forest Haven had a reputation as a state-of-the-art treatment facility. The 250 acre compound was occupied by over 30 buildings - including cottages, a gym, church, and various other hospital and educational buildings. As time elapsed, Forest Haven's promising beginning crumbled and it became a dark and wretched place. Forest Haven was closed in 1991 by the Federal Government after a lawsuit reported hundreds of incidents of abuse, neglect, molestation, and theft. Today, a handful of the buildings remain in useas the District's Youth Rehabilitation Services (a euphemism for prison for juvinile delinquents) but most of the site remains forlorn and rotting. The property is partolled and they do not look kindly on trespassers.
