Via Flickr: This unnamed cabin rests on a hill above the town. The insides (next photo) are still insulated with layers of old blankets hanging from the walls and newspapers packed into the spaces between the logs. Bannack is a ghost town in western Montana that is being preserved in a state of maintained decay by the state parks department. It was a boom town during the gold years of the mid to late 1800's but was steadily abandoned as the gold ran out. A few homes were still inhabited until the 1960's, but most were left to rot
