hi lin, there's nothing wrong with using the regular flag for vn! the southern flag tends to represent anticommunist and conservative politics (see: viets waving it on jan 6 at the capitol). my recommendations on learning more ab the vn war are reading "cia and the house of ngo" (about the us influence/intel on the southern gov) and "kill anything that moves" (detailing american violence enacted on viets) or "the vietnam war" episode by rev left radio!
