Okay, so we all know that Dean is a Good Soft Boy who deserves Many Hugs, but is there a kind of hug he seems to favor? Long ones? Short ones? Gentle ones? Rib-crushing ones? Or does he seem to love them all?

Honestly, he seems to enjoy the rib crushing ones like most of the ones he gets from Sam. He just seems to put so much of himself into them; as does Sam. Look at this one from 4.01, the way he literally yanks Sam in closer to him 

They both look like they are crushing the life out of each other and thinking it’s a pretty great way to die. He has a similar intense let me see if I can squeeze the life out of you hug from Ellen in 2.22

And look he likes those kind of crushing hugs so much, he nearly crushes Sam to death more than once 

Look at Sam’s face lol. Same thing happens in 2.22

He got a similar crushing one from John in s1. 

I think that’s just the way Winchesters hug.  So, when he finds a crush hugger, he’s a happy bean. I think it’s his tactile nature, almost like he wants to hug Sam (or whoever else) so tight they just become one person. Like that time in 2.21 that was clearly hey, if i just hug you hard enough you won’t be dead. 

I mean, look how much he enjoys hugging Donna, who is a very huggy person too. 

And that’s not a life or death situation which leads me to believe Dean just really likes enthusiastic hugs. Same happened with Benny and they both just kind of went in for it. 

Dean is seriously in his happy place here, look at them rocking away. Dean definitely loves the crushing, squeeze the life out of you hugs.
