Note that Rowena called Dean, not Sam. Maybe because he’s the one who’s also been posessed by Michael. Or maybe because she knew Dean wouldn’t pressure her into talking about things she wasn’t ready to talk about, or give her “empathetic” speeches on how he understands what she’s going through because he’s also been there…

Of course, there’s also the possibility that she didn’t call Sam because she knew that the slaughter at the bunker affected him worse than Dean and she didn’t want to add to his distress.

Either way, I was glad we finally got a verbal from one of the Winchesters that they don’t want her dead. It’s a first step. A very small first step, but still. Maybe one day Sam and Dean will finally show her the appreciation she deserves.
