i had a lot of fun drawing in the show’s style, it’s VERY different from my own
this is one of my favorite aus honestly i just love the idea of ford being this very plain, boring, nerdy high school science teacher and then it all turns into an ep of SG1 or something
I finally realized that Au i made is reverse potal au.
but It has a differnts.
I added more comments from Ford in the Reverse Portal au I made and also drew Stanley.

Reverse portal au because yes
Ford’s “museum” is just the mystery shack with decent prices and less jokes
He has a stack of different ties and suits because we all know he likes to play dress up just like Mabel
Stan has a long list of nicknames and even longer list of strangers who want him dead (some things just never change)
The twins were forced hired the day they arrived to Grunkle Ford and they have gained a new hatred for formal wear
As everyone expected, in this au Ford has no clue how to bond with children especially ones he has little in common with (Mabel) which leaves Mabel by herself most of the time watching Dipper and Ford play dungeons dungeons and more dungeons
Mabel constantly has new ideas for attractions in the museum (like sticking a monkey torso on a mermaid tail) but Ford turns them down every time, she doesn’t know why he does. She just wants to show off her creativity the way Dipper does too
It doesn’t stop her from knitting Ford sweaters although, Mabel wishes it wasn’t the only thing they had in common
After showing the journal to Ford, Dipper never gets to see it again once Ford takes it out his hands. This leads Dipper to realize his great uncle doesn’t trust anyone and he wants to prove him wrong
He still idolizes Ford just like in canon but he chooses not to see the red flags just chalks everything up to trust issues, that’s totally why Ford tells them to never follow him into the basement or why he never explained the hiding of the journal even going as far as never talking about it again. Firmly believes once he gets Fords trust he would tell him everything
Stan taught Dipper to toughen up in canon, in this au Ford teaches him to never miss opportunities or let anyone take them away (the whole “Destined for greatness”thing)

After the portal incident Ford fell into a heavy depression making Bill leave him because he got bored, once Ford had gotten a metal plate installed into his skull by a sketchy doctor he eventually got the idea to showcase his life's work so he wouldn't die as a failure. Ford knows he cannot show the real deal to the tourists so he spends his time creating realistic models of the creatures he’s studied keeping him busy. He refuses to have made up creatures like Mabel suggest because he views it as a mockery and scam it reminds him of someone
When the kids came for the summer he gained some confidence and weight after Mabel's much needed "mandatory self care" days. Ford loves both kids to death but has trouble showing it. Sees himself within Dipper resulting in him spending more time with the boy unintentionally separating the twins
After faking Stanley's death with a car crash he drags back the Stanmobile having it fixed and sitting in a locked garage with Ford staring at it for hours at a time repeating the words “he’s gone and there’s nothing I can do”

For context: Ford and the kids do not know it’s a different Stan, that’s why they are freaking out
Gravity falls stanley,Stanford,Dipper,mabel,wendy,soos meet Reverse portal stanley.
Known as one of the greatest grifter/smugglers in the multiverse, made a living out of it
Rick needed some parts from a heavy guarded facility without dying in return he would build Stan a portal gun
Without knowing what dimension he belonged to, Stan had jumped through portals faster than they could close in a desperate search for his home dimension creating rifts throughout time and space
Time Anomaly Removal Crew had caught wind of his crimes and set out to prison Stan but he always slipped away
Time baby had teleported Stan into the “TARC” office (the paperwork side of the crew) where he meets a worker named Tad Strange who was tasked with tracking Stanley’s crimes and now trying to talk sense into the con-man before being arrested
After Stan had told him his story Tad felt bad and convinced Time baby to send him back to his original dimension with parole. Tad now lived in gravity falls keeping an eye on him
This has to be an AU already right? I’ve never seen it. I’m doing it. My city now
The angst potential alone haunts me. How long do you think he waited for Ford?? When did it start to sink in that nobody was coming to save him, that nobody would miss him? Would anybody even want him back? How long did it take for his anger, his heartbreak, his grief to turn into acceptance and a belief that this was divine retribution? How long did he work, how many jobs did he take, how much wealth did he accrue, how many brushes with death did he have until he believed he’d “earned” the right to go home and see his brother?? Many such questions. I need to go deeper
