• Actually Sam is just fine with this because hobbit lawns encourage natural biodiversity and also dandelions are good in salads

Headcanon for no reason that Bilbo Gamgee is like my own bby cousin who spoke zero words until he was like 2 and a half and then suddenly decided to talk one day and turns out he had been building quite the vocabulary 😂

Yo, so for some reason for YEARS I have thought Pippin's wife is autistic. Don't know where that came from or why, but it's firmly stuck in my head.

Little bilbo gets it into his curly little head that dwarves WILL come to his house one day and he's always watching for them Gimli and Legolas come for a visit one time Bilbo goes WILD with excitement IT'S TIME that it is one dwarf and an elf and not 13 and a wizard bothers him not a trifle

I've heard vague references to a letter Tolkien wrote to a fan (not included in the volume of the Letters) in which he told her that Merry named at least one son "Periadoc." I kind of like it, especially if the "Per" part is related to "Peregrin" or "Periannath"! What do y'all think? Does this go with the other headcanons we came up with about Merry's kids?

Modern AU Gamgee family 100% drives one of those massive homeschool family rectangle vans. You know the ones.

Kidnapper vans have no windows. Homeschool family vans are ALL windows, but all of them are manual, and some of the floor might be missing

There's a 'Honk if a kid falls out' sticker on the back.

Some of the floor is missing and despite Rosie's best efforts, there are ALWAYS some crumbs in the back row and there's like 5 different water bottles rolling around in there at all times even though she's constantly reminding, "Take your stuff inside."

Bilbo definitely stuck chewed up gum on the bottom of one of the seats once.

Merry and Pippin always honk when they are behind 'em.

They tell Sam to just get a school bus.

Toys have fallen through the holes in the floor and been lost forever. However, one particular toy fell through and yet wasn’t on the road when they went back to check, so nobody knows where it went. Presumably it still lives in the floorboards.

Oh, and the window next to Goldi's seat just has stickers. So. Many. Stickers. And Rosie and Sam have given up on trying to get them off.

If I’m allowing myself the privilege of indulging in AU where Frodo doesn’t leave, I often imagine Elanor calls him [Fro]. But she is the only one who is allowed to.

"Fwo" Frodo, lifting a cup in his hand: "throw?" "No! Fwo!"

I've been imagining Elanor calling him "Unca Fodo."

And then there's "Unca Mewwy" and "Pip-Pip." (Pippin tries to get her to call him Uncle too, but it doesn't work. He's not Unc-y enough 😂)
