I support the idea that the topic of pedophilia was raised in the medias, as this is a very big problem in our society, from which children suffer every day. What I don't support is that this topic fits in as a "black joke" and an attempt to put other morally questionable characters in a better light. This is tasteless and frankly disrespectful.

we need to stop letting the utdr fandom put words in the mouth of a man they do not know because toby fox has never once said or implied he hates asgore or that he made him sillier out of malicious spite but he HAS said that he based asgore on a friend of his, had that friend dress up as asgore during a stream where they played deltarune together, and stated that asgore being played completely serious wouldn't have worked and amended that by taking inspiration from that friend. (and when the topic of asgore being "a downer" in deltarune comes up he calls him "poor guy". i don't think he made him that way out of malice either.)

* A more correct translation of the original Araqeni name would be “The Sea That Died” because it’s a dried-up sea. It does, however, contain a sizable graveyard of Beqatar’s victims.
