My name is Fadel Al Dani, a third-year student in Information Technology, 23 years old. My life has not been normal for a long time. Since the beginning of the conflict with the Israeli occupation, we have been living in a recurring cycle of displacement and fear. We have moved more than five times from one house to another, searching for a safe haven from the bombs that are falling like rain. Each time we hoped to find a place far from danger, but the war left no room for hope.

Fate eventually brought us back to our home, and we thought it would be our last refuge. But one dark night, shells rained down on us, destroying our home and injuring me and my family. The pain at that moment was indescribable, and we did not know if we would survive or become just another number in the death toll.

My family and I were transferred in extremely dangerous conditions to a hospital in the southern part of the Gaza Strip because the hospitals in the north had completely collapsed. The journey was full of death and fear, as if we were crossing a road covered in gunpowder and blood. We finally reached the hospital where the doctors were able to remove some of the shrapnel that had penetrated my body, but there were still shrapnel stuck inside me that they could not remove. The surgery I need is very complicated and cannot be performed here due to the lack of medical resources.

Now I live in constant pain every day, and the shrapnel in my body reminds me every moment that I am racing against time. I must leave Gaza as soon as possible because the danger here never stops, and the shrapnel moves inside me, and the bombing follows us everywhere. I am the person who most deserves to get out for treatment and get rid of this pain. My travel cost $7,000 to get out of Gaza and $3,000 for treatment, which means a total of $10,000. It is a large sum, but I have no other choice. Every passing moment brings me closer to death, and all I can do is ask for help, even a little, in the hope that I will survive and get out of this ordeal.

We are now going through a major food shortage crisis and I am an infected person and I need food, and the food available in the market is not good and unhealthy and its price is very, very expensive, which has led people to search for food in the garbage. This is what has caused the spread of many diseases and epidemics.

The more I feel the pain of the shrapnel still inside me, the more determined I am to stay. We are in constant danger here and we desperately need to leave. I beg you to help us, even if it is by sharing my story or a small amount, because any support could save our lives.

I’m Ahmed Alanqar from Gaza, where we have lived our entire lives under siege, facing daily hardships and military actions. In October 2023, the conflict escalated catastrophically, destroying my newly built home, my neighborhood, my workplace, and robbing us of our sense of safety.

We are now homeless, desperately seeking a chance to build a new life away from the constant threat of bombings that have become our grim reality.

In Gaza, goods are nearly nonexistent due to the closure of crossings, and even basic aid from UNRWA is scarce and insufficient.

We are now in a daily battle, fighting for the most basic necessities of life, amid a severe shortage of food and essential materials.

My family and I haven't tasted meat in two months.

The price of meat, if available, exceeds $70 per kilo, and the price of rice has reached $30 per kilo.

But sadly, this day is no longer what it used to be. It has become a distant dream for many.

Each passing day increases the pain and suffering, and the beautiful memories that once brightened our days have now become just a longing.

I know we may be reeling from yesterday’s election results, but I want to draw attention to a cause we can still support regardless of the election.

i know you must be feeling very scared about the election right now.

i am too. i feel hopeless and frustrated and angry. you might be feeling like there’s nothing you can do at this point, but focus on what you can control right now. change doesn’t start with the president of the genocidal united states nor does it end with that.

if you feel scared, angry, hopeless, desperate for something to change, channel this energy into helping a palestinian family today. the alanqar family is one family who has been disproportionately affected by the united states’ funding of israel and this reality isn’t going to change for them no matter what candidate is elected. but it could change with your help.

as i type, i’m talking to @zinaanqar right now, whose family desperately needs funds to pay for basic needs such as food and supplies for the children. can you imagine paying hundreds of dollars for just a few food items?

things are scary for all of us right now. while i’m sitting in the comfort of my home worrying about the results of an election, dina is messaging me from gaza just happy to tell me that she’s alive.

also to put things into perspective that regardless of who won there is a genocide happening right now on a daily basis and the situation in the israeli government is getting more and more dangerous and no matter who was put in office in america the situation for palestinians is still very real and very deadly so how about you take some of that righteous anger and upset and desire for change and channel it into fighting for a free palestine & helping as many gazans trying to eacape right now. this is not to undermine whatever it is you as a usamerican are feeling as a result of this election, its just me saying that instead of spiralling into despair, do some good and remember this affects more than just you and your country
