He had the most intense eyes you’d ever seen, further accentuated by the tattoo of a target around his right eye. His presence was somehow chilling and thrilling at the same time, and you were spinning your wheels trying to find your words.
“I’m meeting someone, actually,” you answered, finding your courage again. “I just came early to… prepare…” Your eyes dropped to your drink, a strong concoction that you’d nursed almost to the bottom.
