Listen. I know a lot of people just use Tumblr to passively consume. We all know this. It's disheartening, because the site was never intended to function that way; reblogs were ALWAYS integral to the functioning of the site, and the recent trend toward only liking things (which provides no value to the creator in terms of helping to boost their reach or engagement) is really killing the motivation for a lot of creators. Yes, we create our work for ourselves, but we share it so other people can see it. Reblogging is not just courteous and proper Tumblr etiquette; it's literally the only way to help a creator reach their audience.

This is egregious. There's no tactful way to say this, so I am going to be blunt. To ask an author to spend hours of their time to write a custom fic tailored explicitly to your tastes (and ignoring the request rules that she clearly outlined), while refusing to even click ONE TIME to "reblog now" is unbelievably entitled. That user (and I do mean that in every sense of the word) is treating authors like vending machines, except they won't even put in the effort to push the button to get what they want.

Creators are sharing their work with you, for free. And it is WORK; it doesn't just magically spring into existence with no investment of time or effort. If you enjoy something, please reblog it. You don't even have to add a comment or tags, just reblog it! One single click can make a huge difference to a creator.

Don't be like this person. Don't be a user.

after writing regency hunter i knew i had to write regency crosshair too :') this exists in the same universe as hunter's piece so there are allusions to his romance :) this was so fun to write! crosshair has always been mr darcy coded to me so there's definitely an influence from p&p! i hope you enjoy this as much as i enjoyed writing it!
