Loveless is SO GREAT!!! I never expected to see my experience (more or less) portrayed in media. I cried so much and my feelings about it are so complex I don’t even know how to articulate them. I don’t know anyone else who’s read it so seeing it on your list got me really excited :‘D
Same, I was so happy to finally see some good aroace rep in media.
Boosting this wonderful, wonderful story of a friend - because I want more people to see and read it, and because it doesn't have enough comments and that's a crime!!!!! 🌟🌟🌟
Summary: Einstein breaks Johnathan out of jail and they go back to the old Brewster house for a night of peace, quiet, and plastic surgery, but those things aren't what Johnathan has in mind.
A little preview:
Hermann Einstein is not a victim. Nor an accessory to a crime. Anyone who gets to know him will understand this. The problem is few people seldom do. All they see is a reluctant deviant, a soft-faced little foreigner reliant on a cruel and controlling murderer, only alive because Johnathan wants him to be.

i have nothing better to do a.k.a. snape meme redraw pt.2
May I recommend this wonderful series of three stories:
Which is exactly about that - Severus Snape having to figure out how to raise a baby (Harry) Potter and deal with annoying friends💛 who don't know that to be good guests you have to eventually leave the house again.... 😁
For anyone who is stuck at home because of a certain pestilence, here are my offerings of fanfic distractions:
Good Omens
MARVEL
The Queen’s Thief
And honestly, I could list lots more, but since my hands are sore, feel free to trawl my back catalogue. There’s Once Upon a Time, Bad Education, The Scarlet Pimpernel, Elisabeth, Harry Potter, Tanz der Vampire and more.
thanks for this. I started reading Training Buddies awhile back but when I got this computer three years ago I lost the bookmark @amuseoffyre
I could recommend some other fanfics, one of them is very, very long (almost as long as the Harry Potter series, I checked), BUT it's in German... (but what are translators for, I mean...), the others are English. Edit: two of them are German but don't let that stop you!
Dance of the Vampires/Fearless Vampire Killers:
Die Macht der Liebe by Lywhn takes place after the end of the musical, centers around the Count and Sarah but ofc also Herbert and Alfred but also around some new vampire killers that want to kill the Count, 890k (👀👀 BUT it's so excellent written and exciting and so very well researched!!! You're not gonna regret it ❤️)
Pirates of the Caribbean:
Swanns of the Seas by InsaneColoratuba let's say Elizabeth Swann has 3 really cool sisters and let's say they accompany her on her adventures, sadly it's not finished but the author is already way into movie 3 iirc, 240k
Harry Potter:
A life of smoke and silvered glass by dirgewithoutmusic kind of an AU which centers around Severus Snape but you could say it's basically the Harry Potter series from Snape's perspective starting with his and Lily's meeting, nearly 28k
Black Butler:
Ascencion by Eidolon (again, a German one), a reader-insert fanfic where you are transported, due to a careless act by yourself, into the Victorian England where you meet a very strange...undertaker.... And witness the events of Black Butler, not finished but still really, really good!!!, nearly 186k
Arsenic and Old Lace:
The woods are full of them by Centemare a fanfic about Herman Einstein's past and about how he and Jonathan Brewster met, with a trans main character (Herman), takes place mostly in 1920s Germany, 86k
What they call fate -or karma- by Centemare takes place after the events of the movie, Herman thinks he's finally free only to find out that you shouldn't count your chickens before they're hatched..., nearly 20k
Goodbye Stranger by HorrorHobbit yet another fanfic that takes place after the events of Arsenic and Old Lace but this time we follow Jonathan who escaped the police to find someone from his past, 6k (there's also a part 2/AU to that fanfic on AO3)
The comments, I got so far on my Gabriel POV fanfic (tumblr link, AO3 link), give me life. XD Kinda makes me consider writing more to this. Maybe a little ficlet on how Gabriel handles the whole “my sweet little brother Aziraphale is in a relationship with the no-good-punk Crowley” situation. Would anyone be interested in that?
This is what happens when Tumblr's reblog this later doesn't work 🙄🙄🙄
basically halfway done editing my novella
31 out of 66 pages polished baby!!
my story is 23k long and single spaced, if I double space it:
it’s 117 pages long, which doesn’t really matter since either way it’s technically a novella and also not fanfiction since it’s an original story :/
why would I call it a novella if it wasn’t one??
What??? One of my favorite "Jonastein" fanfics is a Novel?????💞
And another really amazing and wonderful, beautiful, breathtaking story that I love with all my heart has over 890.000 words (so it's not one but many novels in one - it has nearly as many words as the entire Harry Potter book series) 😱😱😱😱 I love this story (it's in German) ❤️❤️❤️ and don't let yourself get fooled by the title - it's sounds like it a very kitschy love story, it's not! There are some love stories in it (e.g. Herbert/Alfred, Count Krolock/Sarah) but it's more a historical correct adventure story!! With vampires and (devilish😡😡don't like them!!) vampire killers😱
y’all

to
read
Shimanami Tasogare
It is an amazing manga with an almost entirely LGBT+ cast and talks a lot about gender identity, sexuality and troubles faced by those within the LGBT+ community (especially for younger members). Also it is fucking BEAUTIFUL.
Kamatani Yuuki’s use of imagery and visual metaphors never fails to take my breath away.
Please just read the damn manga.
I personally had an emotional breakdown because of this manga having a character I felt so connected to so definitely give it a read my dudes.
Volume 1 will be out on May 7th!
I also want to point out that there’s ace/aro rep in this series too!
I was absolutely shocked, never expected to see that kind of rep in manga, but it’s there! The author identifies as X-gender and asexual, so it’s LGBT+ rep being written by an LGBT+ author!
It’s a really great series!!
I read through this in one sitting and my heart was warmed several times a chapter just from the full force of how well done it is. 1000000% recommended.
Without saying to much I can tell y’all that it centers around Elizabeth Swann and her three sisters (Lydia, Kitty and Alice).
The summary of the fanfiction itself says:
What if Elizabeth had three sisters? What if they all played parts in the story we all know and love? How will a headstrong girl, a musician, and a meek little mouse affect this familiar tale?
Which summs it up pretty much.
It’s really wonderful written with exciting fights, true love, pure evil, pirates (!!!) - who could have thought of that - and (hopefully) a happy end. It’s not yet finished but already has 78 chapters so there’s a lot to read already.
Arsenic and Old Lace (1944)
“For a gallon of elderberry wine, I take one teaspoon full of arsenic, then add half a teaspoon full of strychnine, and then just a pinch of cyanide!”
I have a fanfiction recommendation for anyone who can't get enough of this movie:
You'll find a wonderful and lovely❤❤❤ Herman Einstein/Jonathan Brewster fanfic with lighter and darker parts. Definitely worth a read!!!!!❤
For anyone who has seen the movie and wants a bit background story for these two characters :D
Should I watch Russian Holmes?
Oh my goodness, yes. I think their characterization is my favorite outside the actual canon. Their Holmes is slightly insane, and always ready to fight, but also genuinely, deeply kind, and their Watson is the perfect blend of puzzled, vaguely scared, adoring and annoyed. And they hug each other and cry over each other’s feelings, and argue about art, and Watson sketches Holmes and boxes Holmes and plays Holmes’ violin horribly when he misses him. Holmes doesn’t stay away three years and when he comes home Watson and Mrs. Hudson BOTH faint. Basically, it’s glorious.
I VERY STRONGLY AGREE
Plus, there is a lot of humour in Russian Holmes. Lestrade especially is a gem. And Russian Watson is fabulous, he’s like… canon Watson with a twist. I don’t know how to describe it really. He’s just amazing.
You know what I think it is about this Watson? Watson as narrator doesn’t emphasize much about himself; he writes himself into the shadows so Holmes shines bright. And most Watsons play their character like that: a reactor, an observer, responding to Holmes’ emotions, supporter not protagonist, though kind and brave. But this Watson is written and played mostly off what’s between the lines: what he must have been like, to be able to do what he did. We see the quiet self-confidence, the love of art and beauty and the interest in learning, the flexibility to make the most of any situation, the deep emotion that surfaces with people he trusts, the physical self-possession that would have been in evidence always, not just when Holmes needed backup. He’s clearly always a soldier, and a writer, as well as a doctor. He’s never passive; you’re always convinced that there’s a lot more going on in his mind than he gives voice to. The acting is masterful.
does anyone have a link to Watch it ? I doubt it’s on Netflix
It’s on YouTube! Search Lenfilm Holmes.
It might be a bit difficult to find them in the right order so:
I watched about 10 minutes of this and found it kind of fun even without any English subtitles, and the cats were fascinated. Then I realized I could probably google for where it might have some – turns out most of the episodes are available with Prime and have English subs there.
Loathe as I am to recommend Amazon for anything, ever, this is mostly an indicator that you can probably get the DVDs with subs if you hunt around.
What a fun show!
Need to watch this

For all my fellow german tumblr people, I have a theatre recommendation:
"Der satanarchäolügenialkohöllische Wunschpunsch" by Michael Ende in the Gerhart-Hauptmann-Theater in Zittau❤❤❤. It's not excactly a christmas tale but very cute and lovingly made (mostly for children up to 10 years but elder people can watch it too).
The tickets are not that expensive (10 €, I believe)
