"I didn't inspect it personally, but it seems fine," Michaelis replied.

Believe it or not, I've been so intent on getting wherever I'm going that this morning I looked up and saw the Eiffel Tower for the first time. It certainly does seem fine!

"It was raining when I arrived in Paris" sounds like the opening of a bad novel, but it is bucketing down out and I am so glad to be indoors. I've arrived safely with only minor issues; I'm going to pass out and catch up in the morning.

This is my subway stop. Paris really do be like that.
